10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

Got all of my magnets laminated last night! Planning is alot of fun!!
Tonight I am putting the magnetic tape on the back (Chris is at a board meeting so it is just me and the doggies tonight) and put them in my suitcase for safe keeping until we leave. I can't believe that in 2 months we will be on the Magic! :yay: I cannot wait for vacation!

Jacquelyn...how did you laminate your magnets...did you take them to Kinko's or Office Max to do it? How much did they charge for them? I was not planning on laminating mine...is there a particular reason why I should? Do they just look better? :confused3

Chris brought the work laminator home for me to use. I choose to laminate them so I can use them after the cruise for things like placemats (I know, kinda weird!) or I put them on my fridge. They just wipe off if something spills and are sturdier.

Laminating the door signs/magnets also preserves them for future use. Otherwise, they can get tattered pretty quickly.

Happy Thursday everyone!

Jacquelyn and Densie thanks for the reply on the laminating :goodvibes Also, Jacquelyn thanks for posting all those tips! I am only about halfway through them, but have found some very helpful stuff in there :surfweb: You rock! :thumbsup2

I've been lurking, and just realized I haven't posted in days. So... I'm still here! :wave2:

We have been super busy this entire week. My neices are visiting from Savannah (5 hours) for the week, and staying at the Grandparents a few miles away. So every afternoon I have taken my kids over to play until bedtime. I enjoy visiting... but it sure gets old sitting on the couch at their house every night when I have SO MUCH I could be doing at home!

Hope everyone has had a good week so far!

Just checking in.

Jacquelyn - thanks for those tips. It took me forever to read them all though. Course I have nothing better to than read posts on the DIS :rotfl: .

Some of you might remember we had a drought in our summer (through to March/April). Well now we have flooding in our area :scared1: . It has been raining just about non stop for about 3 weeks. When the sun does come out, it's only for a short while then the rain is back. Roll on cruise time :cool1:

Luckily we are on a hill so no flooding at our place but a lot of places in our town are flooded. The local high school was closed for a couple of days while they tried to pump water out. My DD was hoping her school would be closed. No luck for her there, the school is too far from the river for that to happen.

It's Friday here, so hope everyone has a good weekend.

Tania

Tania - I hope you stay dry. Our lake flooded earlier this summer and the houses along it are still (yes, still) getting things back in order. I can not imagine.

Well, my Mom is having a cervical fusion today along with some bone replacement, at the Cleveland Clinic. That is about 7 hours from here so after talking with her and my Dad, I am not going until she gets home from the hospital. It is going to be a long day for me - and they don't start until noon.

Thanks Gail. It would be good if it stopped raining for a few days. The weather reorter on TV said a coule of days ago that there would be no rain. That should mean no water falling from the sky. What he actually meant was the steady downpours stopped but we still got showers :confused3 .

Hope your Mom's operation goes well.

Tania

Gail our thoughts and prayers are with your mom and you. Please let us know how she is doing. That is always such scary situation. Lois

Gail-
How is mom? hope all went well.

Just getting a good start to the weekend. all the boys are at grannys:goodvibes Going to do some cruise shopping this morning before picking them up.

they started school yesterday and are all happy with their teachers.

off to clean and then shop
Kim

Gail, just read about your mom's surgery. I had lumbar fusion in 2006. I'll be anxious to hear how she is. My mom (who will be on the cruise - her first) needs cervical fusion too. She's trying to wait as long as possible.

I always forget how exhausting starting school is! This year wasn't as bad since I don't have a homeroom, but just getting back into the swing of things (routine) is so difficult. I start my gifted classes Monday, so say a prayer! I have to nail down my lesson plans this weekend. I can't decide for sure what I want to do! :scared1:

The cruise is getting so close!!! I had some bizarre dream about looking for Mickey Mouse last night. I know...psycho. :lmao: I hated reading the thread about all the people getting sick on the Magic a few weeks ago. If that happened when I FINALLY get my family on a cruise I would just die. I want it to be such a magical time! :lovestruc

I'm off to read the boards and straighten the house. I'll check back in later.

Happy weekend everyone!!!!

Ginger

Thanks everyone for the prayers. The surgery went well but they did take bone from her hip (which they were not going to do but rather use cadaver bone, which I find pretty creepy). She also has auto-immune disease so healing incisions isn't as simple as it should be. But, on a good note, the infected bone that was removed (and sent to pathology for testing) appeared to be nothing to worry about. They were going to keep her sedated through the night so I should hear more today and will let everyone know.

Tania - I do hope the sun comes out - and stays out for you all so that everyone can dry out.

Well, enjoy your Saturday everyone. I think my cruise shopping is complete - DH may need another pair of slacks but he will appear sans jacket on formal and semiformal night unless one of the boys has something he can borrow that fits him.

Hi All...I am a very long time (years) lurker on the DIS boards and have used so many tips and discounts I have lost track! This is the first time I have actually posted. Just wanted to join in the fun with others who look forward to the next Disney adventure as much as I do. My mother, son and I will be joining you on the 7-night Western departing Oct.4 and we are sooooo excited!

Hi everyone I Know I've been MIA for a while. I went back to work, that took me away from everything fun.
Summer time means alot of work around our house too with the gardens, the pond, the pool, it never stops.
We've been having major wild life problems, can't keep them out of things. The deer got into our veggie garden and pretty much wiped it out, no green beans or tomatoes. The rabbits got into the carrots patch and tried to take up residency, their not stupid. Mole or mice got into the potatoes and ate them all. But we got onions. Boy! do we have onions, onions of all colors. I guess there's nothing out there that likes them.
:confused3
We had a warm winter last year so all the critters have repopulated 4 times over.:scared1:

We are really looking forward to Oct 3, when we fly out of here. I hope to see some of you at the Radisson that night.

I'll check back in again soon, in the mean time you all take care.

Gail - glad to hear the surgery went well. Will pray that her recovery also goes well.

Ginger - how annoying, after all that work to have nothing left but onions. Hope you really really like onions, sounds like you'll be having them with every meal :lmao: .

:welcome: to DIS and the cruise mousehse. Glad you are joining us :goodvibes . How old is your son?

Tania
