No, I am not usually up that early! Chris had to be in work early today so he was in the shower. I go back to sleep when he leaves. I was up so I grabbed my iPhone and was catching up on the DIS!

Allergy is severe. Just no nuts. Foods processed around nuts ok, have not had problems with that. Yes I keep epi pen with me at all times.

Lori, I did the same thing you did yesterday on my last day of summer. I got my hair cut and then had lunch with the boys and my mother.

Well, my summer is officially over. It was back to school today. We were in meetings both morning and afternoon. We have meetings tomorrow, but not all day. Monday and Tuesday of next week are both work days. Open house/orientation for 4th grade is Monday night. I've got to have my room ready by then.

Gena, don't u just love it when most of your inservice time is spent sitting in
meetings, but they still expect your room to be ready for students/parents.

My principal is pretty good about finding time for us to work in our rooms and plan lessons during out initial inservice days. I've seen some prinicipals who planned out every minute of every day for teachers so that they must prepare lessons/rooms during their own time, so I'm grateful.

For those participating in the FE exchange: Are there any food allergies?

Thank you for posting this. Our DD has an egg allergy - anything with eggs or egg ingredients in it would be off limits (and I could answer any questions about what would/wouldn't be safe if you have questions). Anything with the broad label about being processed on the same equipment with eggs has usually been okay for her. The rest of us have no allergies.

Thanks again for being aware of this issue.

I'm trying to get an accurate cabin count for those giving one "family" FE gift. Am I correct in assuming that you each have one cabin for the kiddos and one for mommy and daddy? If so, do you have a designated kids' cabin figured out yet or may I just choose one for FE delivery's sake? Tell me how you want me to handle it.

Happy Friday everyone. Those of you that teach (bless you for starters), I hope your in service is going well and you have also had time to get your rooms ready for your students. You play such an important part in your students lives - my hat is off to all of you.

Quiet weekend here I think. I need to do laundry and that normal stuff but nothing major. It is time to put together a list of what needs packed - I even looked at sunscreen last night when I was in Meijers but didn't get any - I need to see if what is on the shelf now has expired or not, providing I can find a date. I also need to stock up on some Bonine for David, one more box should do the trick.

Tip - pack a small first aid kit

Denise-- Our rooms are devided with the kids. Last time mom and dad had 2 kids, and grandpa had the other. I am sure it will be the same this year. We have 2 FE. one for each door. Our rooms are 7005 and 7007. I think I saw somewhere maybe allergies 7006? The boys have the pirate one and the adults have the other. Hope this helps. Last time the boys would change which room they were in depending who they wanted to sleep with.
Took this morning off work but have to go in at noon. lots to get done, but wanted to check in and see what was new.

I have been lurking trying to read at least a few post each day but have been just too busy with the grandkids, work, the house, and everything else I have agreed to do. Can NOT wait for September to get here. Then I will have to take time off to get ready for vacation, time off for vacation, and time off after vacation to recover from vacation. We're almost at the 2 month mark everyone! (except Janet and Lois who leave for the World in 50 days! Lucky girls!! )

Hope everyone is going to have a nice weekend. Chris and I are relaxing all weekend-not going to the shore for the next 2 weekends. We need a break from all of the fun and sun. It gets very tiring after a while!
