10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

I noticed a bunch of people making their reservations for this. Will we still be able to book this on the ship? I suppose it is a matter of getting the best times, etc. I'm thinking maybe one night dining without kids will be okay - but I have no clue when to book it at this point. Would hate to miss out on anything and we haven't really planned what we are doing on any of the days yet. If someone can give me the quick rundown on this, I'd appreciate it.

I'm not sure who this goes to -

here it is

simo - from SW Minnesota
DH - Scott
DW - Gretchen
DD - age 9 at sailing
DS - age 6 at sailing
late seating
room - not sure right now

Okay, you guys have to promise not to laugh when you see the "FEs" I made for our family. :lmao: I kept thinking, "How can I do this without sewing?" I bought an over the door organizer and cut it up! I added some really cool Disney stickers and voila! :thumbsup2 I am going to work a little more on the hanging mechanism though. Just remember, no laughing!

We've decided to forgo Palo this year. I know. The horror! We've done brunch twice and loved it. However, it is one expense that can be trimmed. Also, it would put more of a strain on my sister as she has to use the nursery if we go.

I filled out our forms online today though! I also booked.....The Rasul! :scared1: My husband's birthday is Key West day, so I figured that would be a present right up his alley. :lmao:

Well, I'm off to church to work in the nursery. :scared1: (again)

Check in with everyone later! Happy 90 day mark!!!

Ginger:yay:

Palo is the adult only restaurant that affords you wonderful views of the ocean as you dine. The service is more intense than in the dining rooms. Palo is known for their chocolate souffle' but you can go into the bar there and have one without dining. There is a $15 per person extra charge for dining in Palo.

The brunch is very nice. They offer you champagne cocktails as you walk in and they have everything sitting out except for the food you order up and you help yourself, buffet style. This includes caviar, pate', etc.

You can get reservations once onboard by going and standing in line at the place located on the paper they give you when you check in at the port.

You can also try and book online: at 90 days (for Castaway Club members - those who have cruised DCL before, and paid in full), at 75 days (first time DCL cruisers) before the cruise (midnight EST is when booking will come available).

That is also when bookings for excursions, spa and registration for the kids clubs are available. You can also fill out & print your documents to make check in at the port much easier.

The kids only need to be registgered, you don't need to book time slots for them to go or anything like that :goodvibes .

Hope that helps a little

Ginger, that's really resourceful of you :thumbsup2 :rotfl: (oops didn't mean to laugh). I wouldn't have thought of doing that. I'm not creative & don't sew either.

This trip will be the first time we are trying Palo. Brunch on our first week, Tea on our 2nd. My DH isn't that keen cause it costs extra but I told him we have to try it so we will know for ourselves how good it is ;) .

Lauren, love your FE! To use an extremely overused word from HGTV, the colors really "pop"! (I hate when they use that word over and over..)

Ginger, my girl, you are someone after my heart. That is such a good idea for a FE! I am also thinking of going over to Hobby Lobby and finding some way to make one without sewing.

Lori P. :)

Thanks everybody!

Ginger -- I think that was brilliant on your part! Why re-invent the wheel?

Congrats to all the castaway Club members and others who were able to book their excursions, spa appointments and Palo Ressies! I have set my aarm for the 21 st! :lmao:

Once you decide on what FE you will be giving, let me know and I will keep a confidential list. This way, I can let you know if someone's already giving the same gift.

Sent you a PM with my plans. Still need to order the stuff. I didn't think this would be so hard but I am buying for me and my sister for one cruise and me for this cruise know how much that is and I am trying to stay on budget. Lois

Back from playing base ball all weekend. I actually got on the computer in the hotel and made reservations. We are having brunch at 10:30 morning of Key West. We have dinner scheduled for 8:30 after castaway cay, may try changing that. got the excursions that we wanted. Very excited, now the countdown starts.

So far, I think you and I are the only ones that got brunch on Monday. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I think several couples got brunch on Sunday/ Key West day.

Just a reminder to all the families participating in the FE to PM me with your last name if you would like your gift from me personalized, so far I have 8 but see that there are 25 people signed up for FE. Thanks
Christine

Janet and I got Key west as that was all they had left when i managed to get on-line.

Do the rest of you want to try to see if we can be placed together at the brunch. If you have a 10 ot 10:30 time slot and would like to see if we can be sat together please PM me and while I am on the 9/27 cruise I can try to work a little magic. Really shouldn't be too hard, it isn't like anyone is going to be done and new tables freed up in those 30 min. Lois
