10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

We chose main dining JUST to be sure not to be over-stuffed before the pirate night buffet! :rotfl:

For the kids club activities, you can look at recent Navigators to get an idea of the scheduled activities. Navigators are the paper brought around each day listing the activities for the next day. You can sometimes find them posted on the DCL forum, or you can go to the main forum and look under the FAQ section at the top. The Navigators do change some with every cruise, but it will give you a general idea of what to expect.

One activity I have been told not to miss is the kids club graduation on the last night. Could change, but I was told they sing a few songs and walk across the stage in cap and gown. They get to keep the cap (with ears, of course!) and they get a T-shirt.

For your late dining... I think that really depends on the kids. If you are not able to change your time, you could always get them a snack around 5ish to hold them over. Maybe some fruit from Topsiders? They have many Disney kids channels to choose from in your stateroom, too. For my kids, I would be able to give them a snack and let them lay on the bed and watch TV, and they would get their second wind. (Please note this is our first cruise, so my advice hasn't been tested... just how we normally handle vacations!)

I have done late dining with kids and it worked fine for us. The above advise would work without major problem. If there are activities in the club the kids can eat on deck nine or be sure to be at the club when they eat dinner together. That way you can have an adult only dinner. After having both early and late we have decided that we prefer the late. However that being said there are pro and con's to both.

Meant to say, about the food allergies... how bad is the egg allergy? Is it just straight eggs, or is it any product made with eggs? If it is the latter, then I suggest posting on the main forum. There are many who have sailed with food allergies that can direct and give advice. I know they reccommend letting your servers know your first night, and they will direct you as to what to avoid. Same with the buffet. If she is sensitive to all egg products, you will probably want to avoid the cooking activity in the clubs, as well as sending her to dinner with them. Hope that helps!

Thanks for all the advice. We will have to post something on the main page. Our DD has a fairly severe allergy. Gets sick almost instantly. Takes away from the fun of the meal. Still trying to get caught up on everything.

We did late dining in 2005 (kids were ages 4-9) and it worked fine, but we're already on EST and my kids don't have a problem staying up late. Also, there was only one night where we all ate together anyway.

It was difficult to find room to put any of those late night desserts from the buffets, but we asked for late dining again this time.

I wish you all a happy and safe Fourth! I am heading to Ohio to see my parents tomorrow morning and taking Monday as a vacation day and will drive back then. About 6 hours in the car - and it is orange barrel season so I can hardly wait. I either complain about the snow and ice on the roads or construction - but it seems like that is all we have.

I just sent my kids off to Chicago with their grandparents. :sad1: This is the first year that we haven't done family things for the 4th. Come Monday, I will be enjoying the break, but this weekend will be tough.

Anyone experiencing flight issues? Mine were changed today by AirTran. I expect more changes before we leave. I had this issue for our last cruise to as Disney changed our entire cruise and then USAir was in contract negotiations and we were on pins and needles as to if they would even still be in business in Pgh!! Very frustrating!!

We have had our return flight changed twice already. We are now leaving at 3:30 instead of 5:00, which does not sound like a bad move except we were going to KSC that day and now I think that would be pushing it. I am still trying to figure out if we should just take the bus back or rent a car and try and do something instead of wait in the airport.

Also, our original non-stop return flight back to AZ is now routing through North Carolina! I spent 30 minutes on the phone with the airlines trying to put us on a different flight but something about the "class of ticket" we have which of course are all sold out on the other flights we wanted. We purchased all our flights using credit card points, so we are not out any money or anything, just our time...so frustrating.

I too am holding by breath for our arrival flight because we have tickets for MNNSHP on Friday night. As it is we are arriving at 4:30, so if our flight gets changed any later...I'll be fuming! :headache:

We just found out that our flight has changed on October 3rd. We are on AirTran. Our flight time changed.

Sorry about all the flight problems. Makes me almost grateful that I'll be spending 9 hours in a van with my boys, lol.

Anyone doing anything great for the 4th? I'm taking the boys and some friends downtown Chattanooga for Pops in the Park. I'm probably crazy cause there will be about 80,000 other people there, but at least I'll have some friends there to help me.

Only 93 more days!!!!!

A happy and safe 4th to everyone. We are off to the aunt's house for a pig roast. It is so bad for us but so good!;)

Hope you all have a great 4th July :goodvibes .

It's the last day of term for us. Kids get 2 weeks holiday :cool1: . We've had strange weather the last few days. It's been lovely in the morning, changing to heavy rain at around 3pm, when school gets out :upsidedow . But we'll probably get 2 weeks of solid rain starting tomorrow  . Never mind, 2 weeks of no school is great no matter what the weather.

Tania

Thanks Kari! I'll PM her as to not spoil my secret :goodvibes

By the way, I looked on page 1 to find names and saw that ours are not listed. We are #11 dvanhazel ~ My name is Dina, DH is Kevin, DS is Colton and DD is Chloe...not sure who is updating that for us, but if you want to include our names that would be dandy. :rolleyes1

Happy 4th everyone. Please stay safe. I looked up the list of everyone who has posted on this thread so here it is:
