10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

Gena, I hope the old saying "No news is good news" holds true in this case.

Ginger, did you see the bathrooms some of the other DISERS have created here. I think I saw them on the community board. They are great. Please post pictures when you have it done.

It's so hot here my pool water is up to 85 degrees, 3 days ago it was still a chilly, to me anyway, 77.
My fish pond water is to warm, I fear my fish will die. I've been removing the warm water adding cold trying to cool them down slowly. The banana trees I planted haven't grown enough to make shade for it yet.

I wish it was warm here, it's supposed to be raining all week, it's not too bad today but the clouds are rolling in off the mountains so we could be in for a storm again today. Although I can say we are lucky in that we don't see too many tornados around here unlike what's going on in parts of the US.

To say "its hot" here is an understatment... 102 today. Supposed to cool off tomorrow and only get to 98. :cool1:

Tucker is taking his EOGs this week. I am crossing my fingers that he does well. Avery is doing placement testing for next year. Poor baby can read really well, but still writes backwards quite a bit and can't count consistently past 30. (She gets confused and starts making up numbers... 30-10, 30-11, etc!) I don't remember Tucker having this much trouble in Kindergarten, but he was 8 months older, so maybe that is the difference. 3 more weeks to go!

I have 5 weeks to get this trip paid up. :scared: I'll make it if it kills me... but it will be tough. Had to put tires on the Suburban this AM. DH was driving to work from the tire place, and the water tank blew a hole. The fun just never ends...!

Hi everyone,

Sorry I haven't been on lately but I finally got the laundryroom painted! I love to paint but have neck and back problems and if my Dr knew I did this he'd hit the roof.

Gena,

How sad! What a horrible thing to happen. Thanks for keeping us updated. I, too, will prayer for their daughter's safe return.

Christine,
I'll change the room numbers on the FE list too.

Take care everyone!

Tania - I am envious. Yours found you half way around the world and I can't even get a Castaway Club card much less a cruise kit! Sort of sad - but I am happy for you :cool1: :thumbsup2    !

Gail, you're not alone. We haven't got Castaway Club cards either :( . I did email about them & got a reply but no sign of them since :confused3 .

My mum just sent me text to say their planning kit has arrived today. Hopefully you wil get yours soon :goodvibes .

My TA contacted Disney for me and foubnd out that they are being sent out for the next two weeks and should be coming soon. I cannot wait! :)

Happy Tuesday everyone! 115 days and it will be our turn.

Denise - good job on the painting and I certainly hope you don't have any post-painting issues.

Tania - I guess we shall see what happens. I know our Castaway numbers so the fact that we don't have cards is OK. The trip planning would jazz me though.

Have a great day everyone! Stay cool (or warm) and enjoy!

We got our DCL planning kit in the mail today!!!
Getting that makes the cruise seem that much closer. DH and I are going to look over it tonight so we can decide what to book (Palo, excursions, spa, etc. at 105 days out, which is very soon!!)

Can I tell you all that I am SO grossed out right now? I walked out to the trampoline to collect Avery's shoes for school tomorrow... and I stepped on a frog! I felt that sucker squish under my bare foot!

Anyway... I have had a long, bad day... so off to bed and try again tomorrow.

The primary problem with America is stupidity. Maybe we should just take all the warning labels off and let the problem solve itself.

I just read your message under your name. I love it!! :rotfl2:

Can anyone tell me the post # for the FE list? I wanted to see if there were any openings
Thanks,
Coleane

I put in the activities post to send a PM to Denise but I would also happily post links (well, if I can figure out how I will) to specific posts if I know they are updated to be the latest. Just let me know.

I have had a really Classic week. We had some really rocking storms last Wednesday which kicked off our power for less than an hour. We were feeling pretty lucky because many people lost power for hours and hours and it was scorching hot (95-100 degrees!) So this next part of the story is something that can only happen to a household with no Kids! Wednesday passes and then late Thursday night DH notices there is a puddle on the floor in front of the fridge. Upon further inspection we find the fridge is not very cool and the ice is melting in the freezer. Awesome! That's more than 24 hours of failing refrigerator and we didn't even notice! How disgusting, a fridge stocked with spoiled food! I had to stay home on Friday to wait for a repair guy to check it out and clean out the darn thing, so gross.

Now, let me also meantion that this time 2 years ago we also had fridge problems and it was just a fuse. That time DH was out of town at an annual conference -- this time he was leaving for that same conference in two days. I say that the conference is bad luck! Anyway the repairman comes and says the compressor is blown, buy a new fridge. Great! The upside here is we redesigned our kitchen last year and replaced everything but the dishwasher and the fridge. All the appliances except the fridge were black at this point so I wasn't sad to see the old "almond" fridge go, but on the other hand we weren't expecting to spend big money on appliances this month. The yin and yang of life right? So to wrap up this very long story, the new (beautiful!) fridge was delivered yesterday (fridge downtime = 6 days) and I can now have ice again! Yippee! :cool1:

Tell me about spending money unexpectedly... 2 days ago the overflow container on DHs truck started leaking - $65. He fixed it, but lost a socket in the engine and couldn't find it. He figured no big deal... he would buy a new one for $3 at Lowe's next time he was there. Driving to work yesterday, it fell out into the fan, and ricochets into the radiator, busting a hole in it. $650 + towing. I feel like crying! My money was SO accounted for in order to pay off my cruise... now I am going to be seriously scrambling. :worried: And to top everything off... Dh hates his job. He leaves this AM and says "I hope I can get through the day without quitting." Boy, I just LOVE the stress!!

My wife and I are new to DIS, but are becoming seasoned Disney travelers. This will be our 3rd cruise in seven years. We have have previously done the land/sea package with the Wonder. This will be our first cruise on the Magic. Is there really any difference between the two ships as far as the overall experience goes? We hope to meet some nice people at dinner. The last time we met a couple from TN/AL. This will be our 4th Disney trip since we have been married. In fact we will be celebrating our 7th Wedding anniversary on October 6th.

WELCOME ABOARD WolfeinTN

I'm sure you're going to meet many wonderful people on this cruse, there are many right here on this thread.
The ships are identical, just a few names changes. Like Beach Blanket on the Wonder is Topsiders on the Magic, I know there is a night club name difference, sorry I'm not sure which ones thou. If you know your way around the Wonder you'll have no problems with the Magic.

Again Welcome!

You know what's grosser than a frog??? Stepping on a big ole fat slug.::yes:: Hope today is better.

:welcome:

We have a great bunch here. You can find our planned activities on page 1, post # 4. We are planning a fish extender gift exchange, too.

Congrats on the anniversary! We are celebrating my baby's 6th birthday on Oct 8th (Cozumel). DH and I just celebrated our 14th a few months back.

Look forward to chatting with you!
