10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

This a bump from page two. This just will not do. Hope everyone is well. Remember we are one day closer!!!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Why so happy? We have been getting a ton of rain in the Metro DC area recently and lot of folks have been coping with flooded roads, closed schools and wet basements. Well last night my eagle-eyed mother noticed that our sump pump wasn't working and DH was able to get a plumber in right away and replace it before I even got home from work. Disaster averted!
:woohoo: And to top it all off, the clouds have cleared out and the sky is crystal blue. Beautiful!

Wishing you all a BEAUTIFUL day!

Bump, bump and Bump again. Hope everyone is doing well.
We are one day closer!!!!

Just popping in for a quick "Hello!" :wave2: One more day of work... then my first weekend off in 4 weeks! :yay: I am going to enjoy it if it kills me, as I don't get another until June 21st!

It feels odd to me to see everyone counting down the days until summer vacation. Since we have year round schools, my kids are in until June 27th. They will get a 4 week break, and go back for their next school year on July 28th.

Well... time to turn in... my day starts in 41/2 hours!

Hi: I'm back! Take me off the MIA list!

Denise, so sorry to hear about your step-mom's diagnosis. :grouphug:

I was in WV last weekend for my gkids' birthday party -- Paul is 6 and Anna is 3. My DD Lisa and her two kids went with me. I had a great mother's day weekend. We decided to stay in Sandusky, OH Sunday evening. Lisa made a deal with the Great Wolf Lodge and we had a fireplace suite for $125. The kids loved swimming in the waterpark. So did I!

Gail - I love the pic of Drew and Megan.

Can't wait for Labor Day to arrive -- that'll get me closer to the 9/14 Wonder and 10/4 Magic cruises.

Dave is going to be laid off 5 weeks this summer from Ford. My honey-do list has begun and will grow rapidly.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Jan

Happy Saturday everyone! Hope this finds everyone doing well, feeling good and soon to be out of school. Drew's last day is Wednesday. He has to go back to take one final (drat that Calculus class) and for practice and that is it. He has been helping coach the girls JV and Varsity soccer teams so I am sure that will continue until they are finished.

Not much else happening here. I am going to clean a closet today - and I hope I am in pitching mode. I have clothes that I can't find room for that I wear and yep, you guessed it, stuff I have not worn in years hanging up in there. Maybe I will find a black top and not have to go out and buy one!

Well everyone, enjoy your weekend. Sunny here now but only 50 degrees. Might rain later too which we need so I guess it is OK.

Good Morning everyone, looks like it may be a beautiful day here in Maryland, Preakness Day. It's been rainy but the sun is shining right now, hope it stays this way for the races.

Gail when you're done cleaning your closet would you mind coming over to my house and doing mine. I go into them with the greatest intention to throw away, but it just doesn't happen.
Now, I can go into my DD's and pitch it but I have to do it on a morning when trash man comes. If she sees it she'll start going through it and hual the stuff back.
I think it's easier for someone else to clean the closets, they have no objections to tossing my stuff out.
BTW, Drew and Megan make a very handsome couple.

My project for today is to complete the new home I've been creating for my tropical friends. They've out grown their 10 gal world, moving them into a 20 gal long. I'm sure they are going to be lost for a few days, but they will quickly adjust. I grow tropical water plants also, actually it's them that have out grown the tank.

I'm still planting banana tree, elephant ears, and canans in my back yard. Creating my own tropical world. I wish we had longer summers here so I could have more time to enjoy my gardens.
I'm hoping DH opens our pool today. I love looking out seeing the clear blue water in the pool and the trees growing. Puts me in that vacation mood.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Thanks for all the comments on the prom picture - I think hs is pretty dang cute myself but then I am the mom and I am supposed to think that.

OK closet - here I come!

Happy Saturday!

I started out with all intentions of cleaning the downstairs today, but... I went shopping this AM. Now Wynn is at work, and Tucker has gone fishing with his friend, so Avery and I are going to have "girl time." We are going to go see a movie, then get some dinner. Maybe I'll clean tomorrow... :rolleyes1

Well, I can't go to bed until I finish what I started as it is all over the bed! And I didn't get rid of that much, I did find some winter items that missed getting put away so I can take care of that but I have no idea just how much room I made. I started working on the floor of the closet and am heading back there now.

Hi everyone! I feel like a long lost relative checking in. School ends here this week, Wed for the kids, and Friday for me.

I don't know why I'm not posting more, since I am reading the thread almost everyday. I am having a hard time getting motivated to do anything these days. I basically just want to sleep all the time. Hopefully by cruise time, I will be out of this funk I'm in.

Love the prom picture. It's always fun to go downtown and watch all the kids walk around the riverwalk in their prom gear.

Well, an old friend called tonight to see if I wanted to go out and although i really don't want to do anything, I'm making myself because I haven't seen her in a while and I don't need to just sit around the house.

Guess i need to go get a shower. Talk to you later!

Does anyone have a digital camera that they love? Wynn lost ours :headache: on the cub scout campout a few weeks ago, so now we need to get a new one. I want high resolution, minimum shutter lag, and good zoom. Our last camera was a Sony Cybershot, and I liked it pretty well... but wanted to explore my options!

Sounds like you are really down in the dumps. Doesn't sound like a good place to be and I hope you feel better real soon :grouphug: . Lois

I am just coming out of mine here! I had lost my job a few months ago and was searching and searching with nothing coming in. I guess there are many people in the same boat. Now I start a new job after the holiday weekend and other offers are coming in as well. It is nice that after such a long wait with no responses to basically be able to pick the one I want...at least until they do the criminal history check :rolleyes1 Just kidding!

Try to keep a smile, we get so much sunshine in 137 days :cool1:

Lori - feel better. I have been in to "Funkville" myself recently and it isn't a fun trip. Just not interested in much of anything. Sometimes I think it is over stimulation and the shutdown that follows. Whatever it is - take the first right and get the heck out of there. :grouphug: We are here if you need us.

Glad you found a job - and had a choice BuzzNut. The economy is pretty scary here in Michigan. Wish DH could find something.

Well, I got the closet 2/3 done - floor was emptied and rearranged as were the things on hangers. I thought I wasn't getting rid of that much but I did a pretty good job. Found some things I had forgotten I had and decided there are a few items that I could use. I have to go into the office at some point today to finish up something for a customer but I would like to get the shelf in the closet taken care of to so we shall see.

Enjoy your day all. Think good things and we will be in Key West 20 weeks from today!

Lori I feel for you. I was there myself for a good while. You do need to get out and do fun things. I'm sending lots of feel better pixie dust your way.:flower3:

I've still not found a job but than again I'm still on the USPS rolls. I've been doing free work shops at our local unemployment offices. Tomorrow's class is learning to write a resume to get a federal job.
Aberdeen Providing Grounds, military base, is in my backyard. I'm hoping to get something there if the post office ever decides to let me go completely.

Got my tank up and running, waiting for the sand dust to settle before I can get all the plants in. Then I'll wait again before I move the fish in.

Didn't get any of those darn banana trees plant yesterday, today is the day. DH is hang over this morning,:lmao: to much fun with the neighbors last night. :rotfl2: I'll have to push him all day to work on them:laughing:

Hey!!! you all have a great day.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and has enough spunk to get through today. But, as Lois always says - we are one day closer!!

Hi everyone! My family could use a lot of pixi dust! My Dad went into the VA hospital this week with congestive heart failure. He is doing pretty well for a man in his condition but his heart is only functioning at 20%! Prior to his trip to the hospital he hadn't seen a doctor in at least a decade if not longer and he hasn't taken very good care of himself. Honestly, that fact that he sought help at all is a miracle. Over the last 2 months he gained 60 pounds of water weight that was really straining his already weak heart. Amazingly, he has lost 52 pounds of that weight over the last week! I am praying that he takes the doctors advice and takes better care of himself. I want a few more years with my Dad!

Lauren, I'm sorry that your dad isn't well. I will glady send you all the pixie dust I have and prayers too.

Lauren,
Don't lose hope. My Dad was diagnosed with congestive heart failure 5 years ago and he is doing great now! Hopefully they can get the fluids out of him, that will help his heart immensly. If they can get him through the next few weeks, he should be on the mend. Once my Dad got the fluids out of his body (in the heart area, lungs, etc.) he just has to take lasix to keep it out. I don't know how your Dad will be, but mine likes to complain about having to "pee like a reace horse" after he takes his pill. I just tell him it's better that the alternative!
My thoughts are with you!
Beth
