10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

Merry Christmas! Hope everyone had a great one. Our day was good, but busy. Then last night Avery (DD5) had an asthma flare-up, and was running a fever. She tends to cough terribly with her asthma, but not the life-threatening stuff. Her problem is when it flares up and we can't get it under control, she gets phnemonia in record time. She is doing better today, thank goodness!

I have been planning/reading/making notes and lists for my excursions for months now.

Cozumel: I want to do the dolphin swim (holding fins and foot push) through the park directly, and then go to Paradise Beach for the day. I am worried that I am being overly ambitious, and we will be too busy to relax. Any thoughts?

Grand Cayman: I would love to find an all-inclusive beach where the kids can play and swim. I am also considering the Seaworld Semi-sub which goes through the reef and 2 shipwrecks. I think my kids would love the shipwrecks...pirate:

Key West: Kino sandals, lighthouse, southern point, then back to the ship! We may rent scooters or a golf cart or something to get around quicker, and to be different.

Castaway Cay: Probably rent bikes and do the scavenger hunt. Other than that, we will probably just relax on the beaches. Might get a wild hare and try the parasailing...

Kari, I'm glad Avery is better. I'm sure that can be a little scary.

Gail, I was thinking the same thing the other day regarding wishing for our cruise. When you think of all that will come to pass before the cruise, it's a little weird. My second son will be in middle school. My DH and I will celebrate our 15th anniversary. And I will have had my 40th birthday (I'm better with that now, lol. My pity party has evidently passed.)

All this talk about excursions is making my head swim. When we went on our four nighter, we didn't do any. There's a silly part of me that just wants to stay on the ship the whole time and relax, however I know the boys would love to do some things.

I know they want to snorkle, so we'll at least do that, but other than that, I don't know. Another aspect is that with 6 people it can get a little expensive.

I DID like the miniature golf idea in Cozumel. I didn't see any cost listed on the website, but I know that the boys would love the idea.

Well, I guess I'd better go. My DH is insinuating that I have been on the computer quite long enough this morning, lol. Have a great one everybody!

Just a little bump as we were on page two. Hope to post more after the holiday. Both of us wish everyone a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR. Lois

Hi Lois! Was wondering where you'd disappeared to, lol. Glad to know you're okay.

Playing Sequence with my mom, but wanted to wish everyone a happy weekend!

Happy Holidays everyone! We are finishing up today, going to my husband's side to celebrate. I'm glad to hear everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Ours was very relaxing and peaceful. My mom (who has had health problems for 20+ years) had a good day. I've almost got all of my decorations put away. I went shopping the past few days, trying to find something to wear on formal night. I got lucky and found a dressy blouse that I hope to wear with a long black skirt. I just hope it fits (haven't tried it on yet). Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Only a few more days and then back to work for me. My students have another full week, where I have to return on Thursday.

Gena

Ok Gena, I am officially jealous. I'm sitting here looking at my Christmas decorations, wondering if there's some way I can get my boys to put it away with some type of order. Last year, seriously, it was the beginning of Feb. before the tree was put away entirely.

I'll be thinking of you Thursday morning, b/c I have to go back then too. Kids go back on the 7th. At least we're on the downhill slide of the year.

Gonna go clean the top of the fridge off....how's that for random?

Happy New year to everyone

We hope to get Chrismas put up the 1st weekend after the new year. We only get it out every few years as it is so difficult to get it put away. Write more later got to get ready to go to a holiday Square Dance. Lois

Hope everyone is have a good holiday. Tomorrow is Mini Me's Birthday party she will be 6, looking forward to it. I will be talking with my agent this week, I think we are going to be putting a deposit on this cruise sometime this week. There is another dear couple in our neighborhood who may want to go on a 4 night and for us to go with them. My wife was thinking we should wait until they make up thier mind. My thinking is book this cruise now, we can change the ressie if we need to but we don't want the price going up!

Oh Ashman, don't leave us! You're one of us now. LOL
Our thread just wouldn't be the same without you.

What a lazy Sunday. I did go out and look at some tile since my DH and I have this crazy idea of demo'ing our bathroom tomorrow. We have to repair the wall in the shower, so we're just going to redo everything. I almost went cross-eyed b/c there was so much tile to choose from. But now, I'm home in my recliner with my laptop. My favorite activity, lol.

Happy New Year everyone!!!

We're almost under 9 months. Yeehhhaawww! (That's southern for Yeahhhh!)lol.

Resolutions anyone?

I will stop spending unnecessary money. My new phrase for 2008 is,"Do I want that book or do I want to go on a cruise?" Do I want that ,<Fill in the blank> or do I want to go on a cruise?" I am horrible at making impulse buys, and it eats up our checking account.

I will lose at least 15 pounds by the cruise. I would love 25 lbs, but am setting a more attainable goal.

Resolutions - to be healthier. David got an excercise bike to help him with his rehab from the surgery and I am riding it as well. I also need to eat healthier so will do that too. I also have a bad habit of buying my lunch every day - I want to try to pack it and save some $$'s for the cruise. That means a trip to the grocery today for some salad fixings and fruit.

Snowing here - yeah, so what else is new?? We have a storm warning starting late this afternoon going through tomorrow morning. Hopefully I can get the pad on the driveway cleared from the last snow dump we had before we get this new one.

Back to work tomorrow for me :scared1: ! That means I gotta get up before 7:00 :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: - I think I forgot how to set the alarm!

Oooh Gail. I feel your pain. I do get one more day off, but Thursday morning, it's back to work. At least the kids don't come back until Monday. Teaching is a breeze when the kids aren't there, lol.

Found us on page three - :scared1:

Trying to get back into the groove here but today and tomorrow and then the weekend! Guess I best be getting at it. :surfweb:

Almost to page 3 again. Just bumping!

Found us on page 2.

Got back from Mi, had a great trip. The boys got to build their first snow man, and got to see some of the great white stuff. Then mom had to drive in it. Took a little longer to get home, but we arrived safe. Was nice to have a white christmas.

Hope all of you are having a great new year.

talk to you all soon
Kim

Kim, glad to see you made it safely home. I remember one white Christmas back in NC when I was little. It was the neatest experience, especially in NC where snow was not the norm.

GUESS WHAT!!! 9 MONTHS FROM TODAY, WE'LL BE SAILING!!!:cool1: :cool1:

Lori P. :)

Happy "We Sail Nine Months From Today" Day everyone! With all this white stuff on the ground and bitter cold we had this week - thinking about the sunshine, water and all helps.

Kim - where in MI were you? I think that most of the state has been white - all parts have had storms drop some off.

Not much happening this weekend other than I need to brace myself to work a 5 day week next week - have not done that in awhile, hope I remember how ;)
