10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

Happy weekend everyone! Boys are tucked safely away at OKW. They landed about 11:45 last night, were the last on the Magical Express bus and they went to about 5 resorts before they got to OKW. Checkin was painless and they called at 2:00 this morning to let me know they were all OK and in their room.

I am going on a cleaning spree (maybe if I say it enough, I really will :rotfl: ). Kitchen and dining room are the targets for today plus catching up on the laundry.

Take care and have a great weekend.

Last weekend we put up christmas. The first time in like four years. I had told my daughter that we were going to have the kids help. My grandson came over earlier than my garnd daughter. Well Austin didn't want to help so Janet and I went ahard and put them up and when Beth arrived you would have thought the world came to an end. OMG we just let Austin do everything and Beth gets left out and it all my fault that when Austin comes home he misbehaves. He's 14 isn't that what he is supposed to be doing at this age.

The point to my story is we were going to spend thanksgiving with my daughter and grandkids at her SIL home. We have decided since she is back to her old self that we will go help at the churches Thanksgiven dinner and might even feel like we are wanted. I just know that my family is the only dysfuntional one on these boards.

Here's to hoping that no matter what each of us choose to do in this holiday season we remember to count our blessings. Each of us is blessed in a different way but they are there and if we have access to these boards we are truly blessed as we are not sleeping on the streets.

I have a job, a home, a (dysfuntional) family esp. my grandkids, my animals, my partner, my friends, and my country. That is just a short list of everything I have to be Thankful of this holiday season.

What about you? Lois

I wish you all a blessed day tomorrow. We all have a great deal to be thankful for. If you are travelling, please be safe. Enjoy the turkey!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Have been busy making pies today, and up at 3 in the morning to put the ham in, then turkey later. Hope all of you have a great day.

Lois, Don't be too hard on yourself. I sometimes feel that we are the only family who can't go out to dinner without looking like a three ring circus. I would love to have tablemates on the cruise, but I'm almost afraid to b/c I never know what kind of dinner experience it might be. Sometimes, they are perfect little gentlemen (okay, maybe not perfect, but you get the idea), and sometimes they act as though they've never been out to eat in their lives.

I think most people feel as though their family should be in some type of therapy at some point or other.

I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving! What's on the menu for everyone?

Our's is: turkey/gravy, dressing, rolls, cabbage, lima beans (the only green veggie that all my boys eat), corn on the cob, fruit salad, mac-n-cheese, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, chocolate meraingue pie, choc. pecan pie, apple cider, sweet potato casserole, sweet iced tea......DANG....I'd better get busy! :lmao:

10 1/2 months to go!!!

Lori P. :)

:rotfl: HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Our turkey is stuffed and in the oven. I have yet to do the potatoes but will just peel and mash them, do up some gravy, some obligatory green veggie, cranberry sauce (made with Splenda so we shall see how that goes over) and apple crisp that I found in the freezer section at the grocery that is supposed to be "lite" (label read well). That is a lot for just two people but I gotta have stuffing so the rest is just along for the ride  !

Well, have a great day and enjoy your families and friends. Are any of you getting up in the middle of the night to go Christmas shopping tomorrow?? JC Penney and Kohl's is opening here at 4:00am here :confused3

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

We went to church and helped out and had the honor to set with three men who have much less than I. It really helps to keep life in prespective. After stuffing myself at church we went to a family gathering with a friend. Both my kids went their own way and I hope they had a good thanksgiving.

Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving.

We are heading into summer now. The temperatures are rising and the kids are feeling the heat at school. Only 4 weeks to go til they finish. Our school just announced the school athletics champions for each of the age groups. My DD was the champion for her age group :thumbsup2. She does pretty well considering she is small compared to some of the other girls in her year.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Oh and our TA booked our flights today . We had been waiting for United to make the Orlando-LA leg available as we can get a cheaper deal if we book the whole trip together. Our cruise is getting closer & closer :cool1: .

Page two rescue! We got some snow Wednesday evening and a bit more yesterday - must have a few inches out there. Roads are fine so no big deal. But it is 23 degrees and just a bit nippy.

No shopping here - I will venture out this morning but I don't think that I will do any Christmas shopping. I have a tendency to try to get as much of mine done online as I can so I only have to make one trip. We shall see.

Have a great Saturday. Lois got her house all decorated - anyone else started?

We must remember that this is the 1st time I have even gotten christmas out of the closet in I guess about 5 years. Not sure what happened this year. Put it all out the Weekend before thanksgivings.

I do hope everyone is having a good holiday season. Lois

Tis the season to.....try to decorate your house and yell at your kids... LOL, just kidding.

I haven't started yet, but at 10:30 on the dot, I will officially start decorating. I have already put up our big tree, but nothing else. THe problem is that I have to clean before I decorate, so I think I'll do it a little at a time. Clean an area...decorate an area..and so on and so forth. Not so oppressive that way.

Tania, That's a big milestone for your trip. We'll be driving so no tickets for me. I guess that would be a heck of a drive for you though, lol. Seriously, it takes us about 8 hours, so it's doable.

Okay it's almost 10:30,so I'd better go. Later everyone!

Lori P. :)

Just found us on Page Two yet again. Hopefully this post will move us forward again. Lois

Got the candles in the windows and the wreath on the front door. Didn't quite get done what I wanted, but I was so wiped out from lack of sleep yesterday that I napped on the sofa for several hours this afternoon. Felt so lazy, but felt so GOOOOD.

May still put up the tree in the den if the mood strikes. Still not too late.

The goal is progress not perfection. Lois

You know the only down side to having off five days in a row? It makes you dread Monday even more than usual, lol.

Actually, I really like my job, so it's not too bad. I guess it's just knowing I must get up in the morning at 5:45 and then comes the homework. I just found a note from my 2nd grader's teacher asking for a decorated clotheshanger. She wants to decorate her room for the holidays, so she's asking the kids to decorate a hanger and bring it in by Friday. Maybe I'll go to Hobby Lobby and let him pick out some cheap Christmas ornaments to hang from the hanger.

Oh, and just for the record, tomorrow, I am officially going to make an effort to lose weight. I saw a lady on Friday at the mall that I haven't seen in over a year. She asked if I was expecting!!!:scared1: I said, "No, just fat" My problem is that I have skinny arms and legs, but all the weight I've gained is right around the tummy.

Maybe I need to change my countdown clock to one counting down the pounds I've lost. Naahhhh...not as much fun!

Lori P. :)

I hear you, Lori, about being off and then coming into work today. I woke up each morning at about my normal time, smiled and rolled over and went back to sleep but that pattern was broken this morning. Oh well, we have to work to pay for our cruises and other vacation activities.

I have joined Tania in the purchase (exchange actually) for our airline tickets. We are flying down 9/27 to do a week at WDW and then cruising. I think I will also try to squeeze in a MVMHP too. The schedule is not out yet but, if they follow suit with this year, there should be one Friday night before we sail. Anyone interested in joining us??

Have a good week everyone. If we clean a corner everynight this week and decorate it - we could have one room done by Thursday evening! Doesn't sound too overwhelming that way.

Yep it'd be a pretty long drive - better start now :lmao: . It takes 12 hours to fly to LA then the extra 5 hours to Orlando. Of course the flights don't connect so we have to stay the night in LA both ways. Either that or spend around 10 hours waiting in the airport, which doesn't appeal at all.

Gail, congratulations on your getting your tickets. My mum said that having flights booked makes it all seem so real - my parents & brother are joining us on this cruise. They have never flown further than Australia, so are a bit nervous about getting to DCL on their own. I am trying to make everything as simple as possible for them.

Lori, I know what you mean about the weight around the middle. I have that problem too and am going to have to lose some weight. Maybe exercise will help, then I can still eat ;) .

I have an huge respect for you to fly for 12 hours on one plane. Makes my seat sore just thinking about it :rotfl:!
