What a weekend! We left the hotel in Fargo Friday morning at 4:15 and got to Grand Rapids about 9:15AM! I did manage to catch a little sleep on the plane but not enough. Monday's always seem to be my "crash and burn" days and I am really readyl Like I could start now. But, the weather was fantastic, my folks made it here and back to Ohio safely and graduation was held outside. We had a picnic afterwards at our house - can anyone explain why potato salad, deviled eggs, fruit salad, choc. cake and hamburgers on the grill is such a complicated menu? Needless to say - I spent my weekend in the kitchen! But, here is the star of the day! My baby.

Thanks Denise! I am - what a kid. I will miss him starting next Wednesday as he leaves to work at Boy Scout camp for the summer. He used to come home (complete with dirty laundry) on Saturdays but Megan is working at camp this year too and with gas at $4.00+ a gallon I don't bet he will do the drive as often. We shall see.

So, how is everone doing? Now that I have graduation out of the way maybe I can spend a bit more time here posting instead of just lurking. I still have house work to do - never did get the shelf done in my closet and I am sure there is stuff up there that I can part with. Need to do all of our closets actually. How do they get that way??

Hi All,

I have a question to ask.

Would anyone be interested in organizing a group brunch a Palo? The reason I ask is because I posted early that I would do it but now I find that I'm not able to complete it.
I have already contacted DCL about having the group brunch. I have put in a request for the private dining room in Palo. I received a reply from them stating that a fax would have to been sent to make the request. They gave me a time frame in which it should be done. They also stated that a min. of 12 people would be needed to reserve the room, but not more than 14.

There are already 4 couples interested so an additional 2 or 3 couples would be required to put in the request.
I will pass on the names and information required to do this.

I hope someone can help.

There are some FISH EXTENDERS on ebay if anyone is wanting one but is sewing challenged like me. Just go to ebay and type in fish extenders. Not advertising for anyone but knew there may be some people out there interested in the FE giving/getting that still needed to get one.

I got mine from eBay and I love it!! I use it now to sort mail.
Unfortunately, I do not know how to sew so purchasing mine was my only option.

Hi all! Sorry i've been a little absent, but as some of you noticed, I was a little on the down side for a while. Last Wed, one of my old best friends emailed me and I invited myself to her house in St. Louis, lol. So the next day, I packed up my two youngest and heading to Missouri.

I was able to do a lot of thinking and sorting things out, and am glad to report that today was a perfectly normal day. I did laundry, did my time sheet for tutoring, cleaned my kitchen, took the kids skating and best of all, I fixed a REAL dinner for my kids. Thanks for all the kind words from everyone.

Also, I turned 40 and did not fall over, lol. As a matter of fact, I've lost 16 pounds and feel pretty good about myself, but I am glad that my birthday has passed. Now....ON TO THE CRUISE PLANNING!!!!!

I don't have a clue what excursions are available, or what activities I've signed up for b/c the last few months of school, my head was in a fog, but now I think I'm ready to make solid plans, so watch out!!!

We're having a movie night here, so I'm stuffing my face with popcorn and diet pepsi, but I did want to check in and let you know that I've not fallen off the earth.

Those sound nice but I went for the cheap ones of course they were made in China. But they will work.

Gail! What a beautiful boy! I have to admit that my throat caught a little as I imagined my boy (fixing to be 10) standing in that gown. While I may want time to speed up to get on the cruise, I want it to sloooooow down as my children grow.

Lori, I have been in and out so I didn't know you were going through a tough time. I can certainly understand it. I have had some real ups and downs over the last few years due to health issues and work stress (I know you can identify). I'm glad things are better. I am totally envious about your weight loss! I gained 15 lbs within three weeks after starting Lyrica. I can't seem to get it off.

Also, I would love to find a time to meet up this summer so the boys can "know" each other before we cruise. Let's try to find a day if you are still interested.

Lori, glad you're feeling better . I know the turning 40 feeling.

My DS got his cast off today , 5 1/2 weeks after breaking his arm. So now he has to get used to using his arm again and straightening it. He said it felt like it was floating when they cut it off .

Lori - to you! We are here if you need us. I turned 54 Memorial Day weekend and my age doesn't really get me down but there are other things that go on that can. Glad you had the chance to work through it all (sometimes that is all it takes but we are so busy "doing" for everyone else we don't take the time for ourselves that we should) and glad all is well. I am sure there is lots we don't know but I am that you are back.

Tania - glad he got the cast off and I bet that is a funny feeling. Hope he is back to normal fast.

I started working on Post 4 in this thread thinking it would be a good place to put all activities etc. in one spot. So - what am I missing?? I will try to keep it current. Shall I just reference the folks in charge of an event? I would happily direct them to a specific post number but let me know.

Hope you are having a great Wednesday.

Lori, I understand how you feel . I've been in your shoes. Please know we are here for you. Sometimes, just getting away so you can think works wonders. I just turned 41 at the end of April, so I remember how I felt last year.

Tania, glad to hear that the cast is gone. I'm sure it is hard to have a little one with a cast. I am fortunate that neither of my kids have had to have a cast.

I'm still not sure if I am going to make or purchase my FE. I've got to talk to my friend to see if she is able to help me. I'm also trying to decide what I want to do for my gifts.

We have a busy week. We leave next week for Boston for a few days. I've never been that far up the east coast. DH has a business trip there, so we are going a few days early. I love history and am looking forward to the trip.

I better run. DS (13) has swimmer's ear and we are in the middle of swim lessons. I've got to go and get ear plugs for him to wear in the pool today. Wouldn't you know this would happen during the middle of lessons.

Thanks Jan and Gail for keeping us all on track. Sometimes things get lost in all the posts.

Lois, that's fine about the ebay FEs. I mainly posted that for any lurkers out there that may want to join the FE exchange but are wondering where to get an FE from! The more the merrier! I don't know about anyone else but I tend to forget that ebay sells just about everything.
