10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

Well this meet took me a bit to find. Took me a week to find it hehe

I am also going on this cruise to. We start out on the 27th on the alternate Western cruise and stay on for another week.

I see some familiar logos seems more are doing the same thing.

Details here we go.

Me Ruth Hubby Glenn Lucas
Room 6647
Main Seating

No kids our big kid (25 year old ) looks after our three fur babies. Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Very cool... we'll be right across the ship from you... 6042. Our room will be the one where you can hear the kids get hyper around 11 every night! :hyper2:

ROFL :lmao: mental note: add to list to pack ear plugs :) Thanks for the warning hehe. Look forward to meeting you neighbour.

Welcome Ruth!

We're experiencing a warm spell in mid-Michigan this week.

I'm heading to West Virginia this weekend to see 2 of my 6 grandchildren. DH has to work on Saturday, so he won't be able to spend time with them.

Everyone have a great weekend. I'll be home on Monday evening.

Do you have the same room for both weeks? WE managed to get 2560 for all three weeks.

Safe travels. Grandkids are even better than cotton candy. I only have two with a third one due this coming May. Enjoy your time and we will see you come Monday.
Lois

Thanks, Lois.

I agree, grandkids are the best!!!! I have 6, all are 5 and under. The ones in WV are 5 and 2.5. Leaving Michigan early tomorrow for the WV mountains.

Have a great week everyone. Two weeks from this Sunday, I'll be boarding the Wonder for the DVC cruise.

Jan

Safe travels Jan and have a blast with your grandkids.

How is everyone else doing? Our countdown to our Thanksgiving trip is dwindling - YIPPEE! Warming up in Michigan for the weekend - supposed to be in the 80's. DS has a soccer game today (the end is getting close and I don't want it to end) and my oldest is returning from college (he is done) and starts work in the real world as an engineer on Monday. I am sure that means a weekend of laundry, laundry and more laundry. Good think I kept up this week (well, pretty much) and our stuff is all clean.

Take care everyone and have a great weekend. Lori - have a great fall break and safe travels to you and yours too.

Yes we have the same room. Will be so cool to enter the ship again, with no lugguage and no clothes to put away :thumbsup2

Following is the the process they are using for those doing B2B's. It is going to be so neat to see both the ship and ternimal empty. I expect to get some neat pictures. It really dosen't sound like we will have all that much time to really do anything off ship. Maybe we need to plan to eat that first meal together? I am sure I could find out just when they begin to serve from Baracuda. Any interest?

After everyone leaves the ship on Saturday morning, you have to bring your paper work (just like checking on the ship) and your passports down to the customs at 9 :30. After you clear customs you walk around the corner to go back up stairs to the terminal.
Around 10am the computers "turn over" and you have to go to the Supervisors desk, that's the last counter on the right where we all check in. They take your paper work give you your new KTTW cards and they escort you back into the ship.
The day is yours! The whole process takes about an hour. We started our laundry before we left and when we came back... tossed it in the dryers.
Just remember... there is no food or pools available, just the drink station and you can get back into your room.
Take advantage of no-one being in the terminal.... you should see how beautiful the floor really is!!!

Just wondering, if you have the same room on the same ship, does that mean you have the same servers or would you have to request that?

We made it to NC and were going to go to some time of fair they're having here, but the bottom dropped out and now my mom's front yard looks like a pool. Hoping it will ease off, but if not, I'll just make the best of it and take a NAP! lol

My brother just got here and it's been a long time since I've seen him, so I'll run for now.

Lori P. :)

I think there would be a good chance of having the same stateroom person but not the same servers. You would need the same rotation and the same table and they would need to be kept in the same locations. I think I am going to leave it up to chance and if we have the same ones great if not just that many new friends. Just can't wait to be back on the magic. Lois

Found us on page two!!!! That just will not do! So here is a bump and we will see if we can make to page one. Got to go to bed. Lois

Yes we need to do more talking on this thread. So Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian Friends :)

You are so right. We just need to put in the fluff. Today is a holiday for us State employees. But I love to work when the office is closed so I am going in for a few hours. I will check back later on and see what everyone is doing. Good day, Lois

Good morning, all! Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. We went to Savannah (5 hr drive) for the weekend with the in-laws. Had a great time! Now it is back to work... and laundry!

Today is my baby's birthday. She is 5. Doesn't seem like its been that long!

Another rescue - things sure do move fast here on the DIS. So, how was everyone's Monday? Jan, I hope you got home safe and sound. Guess if we are going to chat and keep this on page one - we better get aquainted.

DH and I have been married 28 years come December. We have 3 boys - DS#1 is a mechanical engineer and single. DS#2 is at Grand Valley State Univ. getting ready to do his student teaching - major was History with a minor in English (didn't get that gene from me). His DF (is that what a fiance would be?) is working on her doctorate in physical therapy. DS3# is a senior in high school and driving me NUTS. Soccer comes first (before school and any time spent researching or even talking about college). Season will most likely end next week so maybe we can get started.

Interesting sidenote - boys are not cruising with us so don't really know why I had the need to tell you all about them but I be a proud mama and I  my boys. Plus - we are not on page two anymore!:rotfl:

Have a great Tuesday!

Happy Birthday to your little one. Just a warning they grow up way too fast. Before you know it that Baby will be heading off to college.

To contunie along this vein: I am Lois and Janet is my partner of 20 years this past August. Both Janet and I are social workers who work with developmentally disable folks and their family. We square dance and practice Chen style Tai Chi.

I have two adult children, a son who is 31 years old and a daughter who is now 32 years old. My son is now living at home again. Just can't seem to manage his money and got into one big hole. My daughter is married and is expecting her 3rd baby in May 08. She has a son who is now 13 and a daughter who is now 11. Grand kids are awesome.

None of the kids, adult or not are coming on this cruise. It is just going to be Janet and I for this one. Looking forward to not needing to schedule around what the kids want or need. Can't wait to get to know everyone. This should be a start to getting to know us. Have a good evening. Lois

I'll chime in here. Wynn and I have been married almost 14 years (Feb). Wynn does drafting at an engineering firm, and I have a home daycare. Tucker is 9 and in 4th grade. Avery is 5 and in Kindergarten. We are all very excited about the cruise (our first) except for Avery... she didn't realize until the other day that the cruise was on a boat, and not at WDW. She has decided NOT to join us on the cruise. She says I can just pick her up at "our hotel" (Coronado Springs) when we get back, and that she knows how to do the elevator and the door key herself. :rotfl2:

How cute:goodvibes has she seen the Cruise DVD of all the fun stuff to do. And of course the great elevators that have mickey hands that point to the floors. Now that is cool.

How about that great Mickey Slide and all the icecream and POP your parents will let you eat. hehe

It just doesn't compare to Fantasyland! That is actually the reason we are throwing in the day at Sea World... to get her a ride fix! I am very lucky that neither of my kids are big on sweets... something they didn't get from me. They are both thin as rails!

We have the planning DVD, but haven't watched it yet. Maybe we'll do that today...
