10/27 2012 A little Halloween MAGIC!

Checking in at midnight tonight...I'm not anticipating any problems getting what I'm wanting to book based upon the activity in this thread. I can't believe we don't have more folks pumped up about a Halloween cruise!

I want to schedule Rum Point, specifically. It was open for me on the 9/29 sailing, so I don't see why it wouldn't be for this one. I suppose I'll know after midnight tonight! Anyone else staying up til midnight with me??

We just booked this sailing. Excited to drive to a Disney port. Excited to see what DCL does for Halloween. It appears we have special nights nearly every night. First night is special because of meeting the crew, second night is formal night, third night we're doing Palo, fourth night is Pirate night, fifth is Halloween, sixth is semi-formal and seventh is farewell. It already feels like it is going too fast and it hasn't started! LOL!

Can't wait to meet you. We have two adults and ds age 15, dd age 13, ds age 9 and ds age 6.

Are we doing FE's?

My first three are all celebrating bdays in October so it is a great time for us to sail. So excited!

I was thrilled to be able to change our reservation to the Veranda and it's cheaper.
It looks like they have not sold this cruise well.. so prices have gone down alot. Might mean better service and the pool is wide open!
But also that Disney might not make Galveston a regular port.

We hope to meet some other families with "big girls!". Our daughter is 12.. 13 in December!
Is there a FE group? This is our first cruise, so I am hoping to figure out all the fab details.

My partner and I will be on this cruise--I just managed to book it last week! I'm soooooooo excited--it's been way too long!

We won't have the kids with us, as we'll be celebrating our anniversary/delayed honeymoon. I really hope Disney will consider a 4-day cruise out of Galveston--I'd be much more likely to take our girls (15, 9, 9 and 7) on a shorter (less expensive!!) trip.

Chrissy, how did you know what the nights are (Pirate, Formal, etc.)? That's incredibly helpful! I am so out of practice at being a DIS-er!

Just booked this cruise today, and have a few friends that will also be on it. I really don't think it will be a slow cruise because it is really starting to sell now! I wish DH and 4 kids would be able to go, but airfare too expensive and they are all in school. But very happy for a nice relaxing getaway. Can't wait to see my DCL server friends again.

Hi all! We just booked the 10/27 TODAY!! We are super excited because this will be DD12, DS9, & MIL's first cruise EVER! So glad they are starting out on DCL DH & I will be sailing on our first ever Disney cruise on 10/6, & decided to surprise the family by taking them 3 wks later. Anyway, I'm just wondering what to expect here. How do we know what night to dress formal? Do we dress up for Halloween? I would like to join in on the FE...how do we get in on that? When is the Pirate party? (Is that even on every cruise?) TIA for any help you can offer!

Hello! We will be joining this cruise! Thanks to a great Disney Travel Agent rate we get to add this to our vacations this year! This will be my 10th Disney Cruise and my mothers 7th! My dad will also be with us on his 5th!

A little bummed it doesn't go t CC but that's ok! We will still have a great time!

Hi Everyone!

I just booked this cruise. It will be my Mom and I on this trip since my husband doesn't have any vacation time left. I have some friends with their families joining us, too! This will be cruise number 4 for me and 2 for Mom. I hadn't planned to cruise again until December 2013, but had a great deal drop into my lap and I just couldn't resist. The Magic was the first ship I sailed on. So I'm looking forward to returning to this ship. I look forward to getting to know everyone!

I'm excited about the FE exchange since it's one thing I've never done. Is anyone planning to dress up for Halloween? Already counting the minutes!

Welcome! What a great way to celebrate you son's birthday. They generally don't publish a list of events ahead of time. Instead, each night you will get a "Personal Navigator" with activities and events listed for the next day. I'm curious about trick-or-treating on Halloween, too...not for myself, but for a couple of the other families in our group that are traveling with kids.

That's really cool that we are both doing a Mom-and-me cruise. I've never done anything this big so last minute before. I was a little overwhelmed at first, but now that I have my flights booked and my shore excursions reserved I feel much better. I feel bad leaving my husband behind. But I guess I'll just have to bring him back something nice.

They actually do have a lot of fun extra events for kids and adults. They had trick or treating for everyone...not just the kiddos! Also Halloween contests for the kids and adults as well...I actually won in my category last time! They had very cool carved pumpkins too!! Looking forward to meeting you all! D

Hi Chrissy! My DD will be 12 & DS is 9! Hopefully we will all get to meet each other. Do you still homeschool? This will be our 2nd full year to homeschool.

Formal night- night 2
pirate night - night 4
Semi formal night - night 6

Hi Leanne, Yes, we homeschool and have since this beginning, although my oldest child, not currently on the sailings, just started a University Model school this year for 9th grade. We have enjoyed the flexability offered by homeschooling. This is our first year to feel "trapped" by the school schedule. LOL! We are still talking with his teachers and waiting for the football schedule to unfold before adding him to our room. He doesn't want to miss a week of football practice but we also don't want to go without him. So hard!
You can always call DCL to find out when the parties and formal nights are for a particular sailing, although subject to change. They usually don't know very far out but our sailings is close enough that they probably have it pretty well in place.
So excited to find out what DCL does first hand on Halloween. Looking forward to meeting each of you.
