Time for this "old boy" to head off to bed. We are expecting a few inches of the white stuff starting late tomorrow morning...............

Love this thread already. We're from Waunakee Wisconsin, just outside of Madison.

Love the Cheesehead Cruise!!!:cheer2:

Candyman and Carrie?

I forgot them, and AFEG, and Jessalyn, and Cheryl, and Lurking Lynn, and many others.....I was on a booking high today--not thinking clearly I guess--even took the wrong turn after dropping Emily off at swim practice and ended up on I95 headed the wrong way--in rush hour traffic!:rotfl:

Yes come on guys where are ya, won't be the same without ya'll.

Funny about the wrong turn. I was laughing earlier about Karen almost forgetting to pick up Ellis. Too Funny.:rotfl:

Welcome aboard Paul. Glad you decided to jump on board. Sorry you felt to far behing on the KK1 site. Please, if you, or anyone else for that matter, feels they fell behind, just jump right back in. Don't feel like you'll be left out. I will update the first post as need to put links or pertinent info up there.

You must be pulling your kids out during Teachers' Convention week as well.

What part of WI are you from?

We're from Kenosha.

Teachers convention week is a good one for us as the kids don't miss much school. It seemed like half the ship was from Wisconsin this year. This will be our 4th annual DCL trip over this week.

Night Andy.

It is snowing here, so I have to get up early and snowblow the drive now.

Still have ice on it from the last storm. Better get rid of that before company comes this weekend. Don't want my "friends" to fall and break a bone. One of them is old. ;) :lmao:

Well, everyone, thanks for the wonderful fun on this new thread today. Welcome to all the newcomers. Remember to post your vitals so Jeff can update page one and we can get to know y'all.:thumbsup2 We are cruising with a great bunch of people.

I am off to bed......:goodvibes

Welcome Wisconsinites!!!!

No, you can't beat those 2 days out of school that week. I think Cheryl has been going that week for some time now too? Right Cheryl?

If either of you fade away for a little while, please, don't feel like you can't come back on. I feel bad you didn't join us last time. This group is great, which I hope you're finding out. We had so much fun on the 10/20/07.

One of my best memories was the unplanned meet in the Adult Pool on Monday afternoon. There must have been 10 or more DISers and their spouses. We had a lot of fun.

Night Paige.

I'm off to bed too.

Karen, since you are the only UKer, you have to do all the posting over night. You better get started. Or better yet, recruit Chris, Heather and Linda to help you. :thumbsup2

For those of you who asked about linking dining ressies...

We had 10 different ressies linked and while we had some glitches the first night (half of our party were at one table while half were at another) after it was all settled, it was great! We got to see several KKers every night!

Some people had requested certain things (like their own table just to themselves) so what I did was send a VERY detailed email to my TA, with all names, cabin numbers, ressie numbers and all special requests.

The funny thing was when the online ressies opened, all of us were linked, so when I registered Kira in Flounders, it asked me who (of all those ressies linked) we would like to be able to pick up Kira! :lmao:

I would definitely do the linking again, that was a lot of fun just seeing each other even just to say hi :wave2: every single night :thumbsup2

Thanks Cass! I'll remember that when time comes. Two years out is probably a bit early for obsessive planning. But when we're closer I'll get a tally of those who wish to have their dining ressies linked.

Nancy & Chuck (cntkg1) Cabin 5024
Jen & family (millerpjm) Cabins 7514 and 7512
Paige & Rob (disgrits) Cabin 6567
Steve & Laura (B9erSteve) Cabin 2606
Seand & Becky (minnieandmickey) Cabin 5022
Andy & Hazel (Verandah Man) Cabin 5520
Robin & Mike (Tart Annihilator & Dyerneeds) Deck 2 but still working on it
Cass & Rob (Timon & Darkrobe) Cabin 6134

Hey! When did that happen Cass? Last I heard you guys were sketchy on booking! It'll be great seeing you two again.

Well Steve... It looks like we're on deck 2 together. I hear we have to bring our own oars this time. :lmao:

We booked early enough... hopefully we'll get another upgrade. :thumbsup2 :)

Yep, a guy can dream, I may score another upgrade. My thinking goes as such. October is historically a slow selling month for DCL, Halloween night is the night we are leaving the ship, so our cruise will probably not be quite as popular as then next one. Our cruise is a traditional Eastern rather than one of those new-fangled ones so they'll probably sell better than ours. Sooo.... I predict a lot of upgrades for someone, might as well be me.

So I know it is very early but does anyone think they will go for a few days before or after the cruise? Maybe MNSSHP meet? We could all wear red wigs!

I am definately planning this. Since we'll be out of town for Halloween, we may as well just plan on spending it in WDW. I think that we'll stay at POP if the rate is reasonable. Stuart really wanted to stay there last time we were in WDW and I chose CSR. I figure I'll throw him a bone and stay there for one night, then maybe splurge for AKL for our next WDW trip.

Yes, we are that crazy group of people.

Hoping Chris joins us on this one as well.

Me too!

Ok - we took the 2007 cruise, are signed up for the same week in 2008 (10/24-11/1) and am sure we'll want in for 2009.

My question is should we book now, or wait for the onboard discount in 2008. what is the better deal?

Decisions, decisions.

HELP!:cool1:

Hi Carrianne,

Where are you from in WI?

It depends on how much the cruise goes up. You may want to book it now and when you get on board, see what the rebooking price is. If the rates go up by more than 10%, keep the current ressie. You can always drop the one you book now. Or, if the rates didn't go up much, have the CM apply it to your ressie.

Jeff

Jeff you took the words right out of my keyboard. This is the best plan!

We did this on 10/20/07 cruise ... we had to call DCL, then fax a letter with all parties, rooms and names included (they're mainly interested in the name the room is booked under) to get tables near each other. We only had 17 people in our party though. You might be able to get the majority of the dining rooms!

I wonder if it was your party that bumped me from my table... They told me that I was smack in the middle of a large party so they moved us to keep that party together. If so, Thanks! We got a great table.

This thing may be more lopsided than the KK1 thread with WIers.

That's it! I'm recruiting some Californians.

Holy cow, you guys are fast.

I didn't catch the release until lunch and figured some travel agent got all the SPHs, no, it was the KK cruisers! We had connecting on the Halloween cruise this year and loved them, so if any of you change your minds let me know.

I just talked myself up to connecting 7s for $200 more than 8s, not ready to go back to deck 2.

Hiya Ready! - welcome and happy chatting! tell us about yourself and who you're travelling with

Thanks, sounds like we will fit right in!!!!!:thumbsup2

You will:goodvibes

I do like the ornament idea, however it may not be easy to do as it gets closer to the date. I know WE could all go shopping now, but skip ahead a year and a half (oh I WISH)...it's August, we're all trying to start getting our DIStag stuff started, and there's no Christmas decorations in the stores yet. This might be harder (or more expensive) for newer cruisers to do because ornaments aren't "in season" per se.

Am I totally off on this?

Hmmm.... hadnt thought of that:rolleyes1 - we'll just agree to tag for the time being then:thumbsup2 - we can sort details later:thumbsup2

Are you going to be able to sleep tonight???

G'night Karen...

I didnt end up having an early night at all. I shut the pc down only to go downstaira to find Neil reading the thread on his lappy:lmao: :lmao: - I think he's hooked:lmao: - he probably wont post much but he'll probably read along now and then

Yikes! Such peer pressure!! :confused3

Oh come on - book it! - you know you want to:goodvibes

Some of the cruises are doing St. Croix or Tortola, but not ours. We are a "straight up" Eastern..:rotfl:

Thank you!

Just looked at the other date we were considering for 2009 (8/15/09). It was one of the Tortola cruises. It was over $450 more for a Cat 10. Not sure if they had a price increase today or not. Needless to say, I don't think we'll be switching. So you are all stuck with me again. :rotfl2:

Dont you dare switch on me Mister Jeff :goodvibes

I would love to do a repeat cruise, but I am not sure it is in the cards for us--:sad2: Of course, we only booked KK1 in February so who knows? :confused3

Book it! Book it! Book it!

Is this the crazy lot that Chris (Fat English Gent) told us so much about? My DS and I were on the second leg of Chris's back to back adventure! We promised him to join this one... :goodvibes

Hi Kimmielee - hope you book and join us

Are we all bringing Planky's?

Well since we didn't get to do it last time I would love too!

Hey Becky! - My Planky is coming, not sure about anyone elses.

Great you're on the tag list:thumbsup2

I'll keep a running total of who is interestd for the time being til we get more organised.

Mornin' KK2'ers, I'm an early riser..........well most days anyway........

For the past few years we have taken vacations during the first week of November, as that is Jersey Week for us. Our school district is off for Election Day, County Teacher's In-Service, and State Teacher's Convention. It's kind of crazy, but they make our kids go to school for just that Monday. So, we have taken our DD out of school for that one day and plan a fall get-away.

This past November, we did a 4 day cruise on RCI's Sovereign of the Seas. It was a nice cruise, but we really did miss the Disney touch and feel, especially since it was our first non-Disney cruise.

I asked our DD again last night if she wanted to join us for this cruise and she said, "No, I want you and mom to have some time alone together." What a sweet kid.........:goodvibes

I'll check in later, I have a few more messages to check, then will be getting DD up so she can start getting ready for school, then I have to start getting ready for work. Gotta work to pay for the cruise!!!

Hey there, WOW. I will catch up later but I have a quick story to relay.

From quickly reading through there looks like alot from Wisconsin (hope I spelled that right??) Anywhooo, on our first DCL cruise Halloween 2005 my DD who was 13 at the time met a boy, Nathanial from Wisconsin, that;s all we knew him by was Nathaniel from Wisconsin, I think it was her first crush, anyways he was a nice kid so do any of you have a son named Nathaniel and was on DCL Oct 2005, that would be a funny coincidence???

We have early dining and would love to link up

Kim

Not this again. Are we going to be able to keep up with her needs? :rotfl2:

Karen is very easy to please. She likes all of us, doesn't she??:rotfl2:

Better get that ice off the driveway Jeff, I'm looking to update to the Walt suite on your dime.:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:
