Hey losers (and I'm talking about weight ... :lmao: ) I just ordered Jillian Michael's 30-Day Shred from Amazon for $11.

It's three 25-minute workouts ... cardio / strength / abs and supposedly if you follow it she claims you can lose up to 20 pounds in 30 days. I'll be happy with 10.

There are some ladies on the workout forum that Jay and I hang around on who swear by it. They say it's tough but fairly easy to follow ... and they've had some good results already.

I've gotta look less flabby by the 22nd of August which is when Jay's anniversary trip to Boca Raton begins. I'm not showing up at a posh Florida beach resort looking like Flabby McButt Cheeks with Sausage Link Arms. :lmao:

Sounds interesting Brenda! How many times do you have to do it each week for this miraculous 20 lbs comes off???

I don't know! :lmao:

I'm guessing at least 5 times ... and a sneaky suspicion tells me that it's probably based on people using level 3 rather than the level 1 where I'll be at, but I'm going to supplement my Jillian workouts with walking. Jay and I have been logging about 5-7 miles per week already.

I probably won't get it in the mail until late next week, so I'm thinking I'll start by next weekend and then really track my weight and measurements to see how well it's all working.

The length of time is what appeals to me ... I spend so much time in my car and at work that by the time I get home at night I only have about a 3-hour window to do all the things I want to get done.

We're heading out soon to Einsteins. I love my fruit and yogurt parfaits. :thumbsup2 I'd love to make a stop next door at Starbucks but Lori won't let me have those Lattes anymore. :guilty: Hey Lori, how about a Skinny Latte?? ;)

Who needs a latte when you get to spend the day with great friends? Lucky dogs!;)

Fourth Of July FO

:goodvibes

OMW--I stayed with Lina this morning and did a 35 minute workout with her, it felt good, but I'm beat now.......:lmao:

15 minutes on the bike
15 minutes on the dreadmill
5 minutes on the eliptical(sp)

Well done Andy

I did burn off about 250 calories this morning, so that wasn't too bad for this "old man" :rotfl:

This was the first time I had been back to workout since March 2002, that's when the center first opened. I was there every day for the first three weeks, then we went on vacation to WDW, I came home very sick, and never got back in the routine of going. "Maybe," this is a new start for me.....:rolleyes1

Keep it up! - 250 calories is more than your slimfast milkshake:thumbsup2

(OMG...I think I'm hanging around you too much).:lmao:

:lmao:

...Just about one more week, then I'll be at the Happiest Place on Earth!:cool1:

I'm not jealous:goodvibes

Happy Independence Day!!!!! :flower: :earboy2:

No posts yet today Karen? Everything ok? Sorry I missed a few pages in case you were going somewhere this morning. :confused3 How's our little black belt?? :rolleyes1

I'm here now - went to the gym this morning and I've been sorting playmobil for 4 hours:rolleyes: - all sorted now and photographed - just gotta put it on ebay now:rolleyes:

Ellis is at karate this afternoon after school - he got his new belt last week and collects his certificate today. He and Neil have a "project" fo the weekend - he's been desperate to build a go-kart for weeks and weeks. Doesnt want a ready built one, wants to build it himself, sawing, drilling, the lot! Thye are going to buy the "materials" tomorrow. He's even emptied out his moneybox and put his money into his little wallet ready! He's growing up too quick

Don't want to leave anyone out then.............

Good Day Mate!!!

O.K. Parade time. Talk to y'all later.

So,... do you all have big celebratory dinners tonight for 4th July? or do you go picnicing etc? Do your towns have fairs or anything fun happening?

We dont have anyhting like that over here. I usually do a big american food dinner... bacon and cheese stuffed potato skins with sour cream, onion rings, breaded mushrooms, steak, chips, new york cheesecake..... none of that for me tonight:rolleyes: - ooooh! - I'm sooooo looking forward to my slimfast now:rolleyes: :lmao:

Yet you eat chicken all the time.

Yes, but it's the "pre-chicken" thing that gives me the chills. :headache:

Happy Independence Day!!!!! :flower: :earboy2:

20 pounds in 30 days? Do you get to eat at all? :rotfl:

And now I'm eaing a 140 calorie Yoplait Lemon Meringue yogurt......:thumbsup2

You'll be "skinny sneeky" by the cruise:thumbsup2

I keep meaning to ask you.... when we go to Orlando at xmas, we intend to stock up on slimfast stuff for brekkie and snacks for in the park...

Am I right in thinking you only get the tins of powered milkshakes over there? Do you not get the smoothies, meal bars, snack bars etc?

Karen, I think a good old American Grill Out is the way most Americans go today. Lots of hot dogs, brats, burgers, chicken and steaks. Potato salads, coleslaw, the obligatory jello mold, taco dips, raw veggies and dip, baked beans, corn on the cob, and lots of snacks compliment the main dish. Lots of yummy desserts and to finish off the night, we make s'mores over an open fire.

Most cities have 4th of July parades and public picnics too.

The day is ended with tons of fireworks both legal and illegal (ahem, Jeff?). One of the cities just south of us has 3D fireworks!:3dglasses

We crazy Americans sure know how to party don't we?

I'm hungry just thinking about it all.

There are usually fairs and parades and big fireworks displays.

And it seems like everyone has a barbeque ... traditional American fare today would include hamburgers, hot dogs, bratwurst (that's not remotely American! :lmao: ), corn on the cob, watermelon, apple pie ... BEER! :lmao:

But everyone puts their own spin on that ... in St. Louis we love to eat pig butt ... so you'll find pork steaks grilling all over the city today. Notice, we don't call it pig butt ... pork steak sounds so much more refined ... but it's the butt and don't let anyone tell you differently! :rotfl2:

by the way .. I wanted to type pig a-- but the filter won't let me.

Jay says that's a butt-inine policy! :lmao:

I seem to have killed the thread with all this talk of porcine rear ends ... :lmao:

OK kids ... I'm off to get in a few miles of walking. Have a great day (again!). :goodvibes

I know you're asking Andy but, I have seen meal bars and snack bars in the stores but not the smoothies. We also have slim fast powder and ready made in the can. :thumbsup2
