To answer the "how did the first day go" questions....

Well, it actually went pretty well I think. I will get used to the whole thing and learn the job. I do have a lot to read and review within the department and I am learning who everyone is. We had a teleconference dept. meeting yesterday afternoon so that was nice talking to my counterparts. There are two other telecommuters -- one in New Mexico and one in Ohio. I will already be facilitating two workhops beginning next week so I think it's good to jump right in.

So far so good, though! I just need to watch my snacking! LOL I'm a nervous eater.

That's good news Mel. How about a nice cru-di-tee handy for those munchies? :thumbsup2 (I know, I know...I need to practice what I preach). :goodvibes

So you guys all motivated me to get back on my bike this morning. 20 minutes is a good start for me.:thumbsup2 It's going to be in the high 80's today and humid so I won't be walking at lunch today. Besides, I'm working off site today and there's no where to walk anyway.

While on my bike I figured out where Mike is. He's off with Big Red taking pole dancing lessons while Robin is hanging around with Sully. :rotfl2:
Now that's what I call a "vacation". Robin is going to walk onto that cruise fully equipped with a girlie six-pack and Mike will be the first place winner at Rockin Bar D of the "So you think you can Dance" contest. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

  For Karen and her "kreaky" knee.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: For Ryan!!!

Mel, you had to eat a lot yesterday ... it was your first day. Since you were working from your home none of your new co-workers had the chance to take you to lunch or bring in any "welcome" goodies. Today you simply must finish the leftovers or they'll go bad over the long weekend ... ;)

Paige and Cass ... thanks for the kind words on the pics. Trust me ... I didn't post the worst ones and I just saw the official pictures last night. Those full body shots are horrible ... but, it's not my wedding so I guess it really doesn't matter. And it's a great incentive to get off my double-wide ham hocks and start toning up again.

Jay's mini-vacation at Boca Raton through his employer is 8 weeks away ... I'd better get working or he's going to be embarrassed to be seen with me at the beach. :rotfl2:

Yes, it's a great idea. The thing is that I have so many healthy snacks here at the house, I just made some bad choices yesterday. I'll be better today, though!!! :goodvibes

ps....I don't normally ask but can i we have some "dust stuff" for our Ryan as he's trying to do a sponsored 14 mile bike ride this Sunday for his mate Barry who has Muscular dystrophy,he's got almost $1000 if he can complete the ride,a very tall order for a chap with chronic Asthma. The cash will be spilt between the MD charity and the Lourdes fund,a fund that helps take Kids from all over Britain (Barry and his two brothers go every year)in search of a Miracle....:sad2:

Your wish.....pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: for Ryan. As an asthma suffferer, I know how difficult it can be.

I hear ya Lori...I went to my first weight watchers class at work today. (lunchtime) So I have a lot of reading to do tonight. I need to get my butt in gear. I've been excercising faithfully (Sully will do that to you. :lmao:), but my eating habits haven't be good at all.

Robin - you go Girl. Plenty of support here for you.

Yeah, I don't think I can shift 40 lbs around :lmao: Good luck with the shifting, although I recall that there is no shifting required for you ;)

Wow, I wish I had that problem :rolleyes1 :lmao: Good luck with the healthy eating Steve, it's always a huge challenge for me!!!

Thanks Cass....just two or three lbs would be great and I think I can do that in the next couple of weeks. Great attitude Cass, recoginising it as a challenge rather than a problem.

Just stopping by to say Hi.

Work has been nuts and it isn't going to get better anytime soon. Trying to figure out where the unemployment is coming from though. We have 25% of our positions open (we employ over 50 people) and it is hard to find good people. People are leaving us because there are openings elsewhere for them. :confused3

I've been in long, if not all day, meetings about every other day. I don't have time to get my normal work done, which is actually more than normal now due to year-end this Monday (6/30).

I'll try to stop in more often. Not sure if I'll be able to read back. PM works best if you have a specific question for me.

Later kids.

Good morning/afternoon all....

I thought I'd post a few Door County pics this morning for everyone's viewing enjoyment...17 days and counting until my trip there!

Oh, dear....I don't want to work today....

And there's no one on to chat with!

So, I'll start a cruise-related discussion....

If you could add one thing from another cruise line/cruise ship to DCL, what would it be?

I'll start....a library or bookshop.

The injury happened as I was running away from the restaurant with a tray of eclairs in my hand:rotfl2:

Hi Jen Mouse, love your piccies:cool1:

I wouldnt add a bookshop .....I didnt have a spare second to read!

I'd like a mini golf or that spa that hung over the side of the boat on Heathers ship:yay:

Its absolutely chucking it down here now. The rain is bouncing off the pavements and the trees are bent double in the wind:eek: - there goes my afternoon of planting up my new plants:rolleyes:

I just fetched all the stuff I needed too:rolleyes: - oh well, I guess I'll have to dis instead:rolleyes1

I'm off to a school/parent meeting tonight. I'm now on the school commitee for raising funds. Any new ideas that your kids schools are doing? We do the usual...sponsered stuff, fun days, fashion shows, etc.

Any ideas welcome:thumbsup2

It was move up day at school today - they get to go to their new classroom ready for September and meet their new teacher for a day. He's moving from the infant building to the junior building in Spetember, but he's quite used to t cuz he goes there for his reading lessons anyway. Hopefully he'll come back from school happy. Neils gone to fetch him (Its still raining:rotfl2: )
