I thought the "new girl" was made up to test her story. I didn't think anybody really came to the door of the house that she was supposedly in. Did I get that wrong?

Matthew

Matthew - you're right - I just re-read Carries post - I misread it first time round.:rolleyes1

Hi Mel - hows the little one?
She's doing much better. She talks about the incident but I think we can work through it. We are going to try and take her back to the same pool swimming on Saturday. We're hoping with us there we can ease her back into it so she isn't scared to swim the rest of her life.

Thanks for asking!

Glad she's ok. :goodvibes

I think taking back quickly is the right thing to do. Doesnt give her time to dwell on it too long and build it up into a real fear. Have fun - I hope she enjoys it.

Cakes in the oven - chocolate one - smells nice:rolleyes1

I might just have a teeny slice of the sponge - no cream.

Ellis' designer mug turned out well. We had to bake it - that went in before the cake:rotfl: He can have his chocolate milk in it tonight to go with his cake for supper:banana:

Hi everyone. So glad to see such nice welcomes. Keeping up and understanding the posts will take a while to come to me, buit I'll get it eventually. It only took me a half an hour to figure out how to register and post this to this thread :confused3. After I had posted yesterday I realized that I hadn't given any information about myself. My name is Kathy and I am from Fulton, Missouri. I am a new empty nester - hence having to pay the hefty single supplement!!! My son, Matthew just graduated from High School and has moved out to Colorado Springs, Colorado (where we lived before we moved here) to work with his dad at his place of employment. I am lonely, but it sure is quiet and clean. Don't know what to do with myself these days - I guess I'll have plenty of time to catch up on the posts. I have booked room 7119 Deck 7 AFT - wanted to be close to Deck 9 and the restaurants. I'll let you go for now and I'll keep reading the posts.

Hi Kathy--we were in cabins 7116 and 7118 for our first cruise, we really liked that location as our muster drill station was in Animator's Palate. It's also quiet and not far from the aft elevators.

As you have probably alrady read, our DD graduated last week from high school, but will be staying home for quite sometime I'm sure.....:lmao:

For the ladies only - men you have been warned!

ps - this is off another website - its not me!

There is not a woman alive today who won't crack up over this!

I was due for a smear with the doctor later in the week. Early one morning, I received a call from the doctor's office to tell me that I had been rescheduled for that morning at 9:30 am. I had only just packed everyone off to work and school, and it was already around 8:45 am. The trip to his office took about 35 minutes, so I didn't have any time to spare.

As most women do, I like to take a little extra effort over hygiene when making such visits, but this time I wasn't going to be able to make the full effort. So, I rushed upstairs, threw off my pyjamas, wet the facecloth that was sitting next to the sink, and gave myself a quick wash in that area to make sure I was at least presentable. I threw the facecloth in the clothes basket, donned some clothes, hopped in the car and raced to my appointment.

I was in the waiting room for only a few minutes when I was called in. Knowing the procedure, as I'm sure you do, I hopped up on the table, looked over at the other side of the room and pretended that I was in Paris or some other place a million miles away. I was a little surprised when the doctor said, "My, we have made an extra effort this morning, haven't we?"

I didn't respond.

After the appointment, I heaved a sigh of relief and went home. The rest of the day was normal - some shopping, cleaning, & cooking.

After school when my 7 year old daughter was playing, she called out from the bathroom, "Mummy, where's my facecloth?"

I told her to get another one from the cupboard.

She replied, "No, I need the one that was here by the sink, it had all my glitter saved inside it."

NEVER going back to that doctor ever!!

Just think of this next time you go for a smear

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Just booked this cruise and would like to join in with the group. I've been reading and learning so much these past few months while deciding whether to take the leap. Since I decided to go for it and book a cruise s i x t e e n long months away, I thought it would be nice to start getting to know some of the people who will be on the ship with me. I will be alone on this cruise (unless of course something changes between now and then) and while I don't mind being alone it would be really nice to have someone I already know on the ship. I have never done any type of forum before so if I do or say something I shouldn't please let me know. I will continue to watch this forum with much interest.

Welcome! I'm Tanya and I'll be sailing with DH Philip and DD (14) and DS (9). We're also with goofyfreak and family, my sister--who has disappeared from the boards lately. Busy I guess.

I'm doing vacation relief at the building supply this week. "Boss" will get after me if I don't get back to work! I'll be glad when this week is over -- between working here and having VBS every evening, I'm exhausted.

I am the volunteer photographer at church camp for three days next week. That will be relaxing--I just walk around people watching and show up at the "ark" for meals! That will be a nice break!:cool1:
