I'm out for lunch today with a friend - its her birthday tomorrow so I'm treating her. Its a chinese banquet buffet - eek! - loads of yummy dishes and lots of calories:rolleyes1
Sounds like fun but chinese can wreak havoc on your diet. GOOD LUCK!

Milkshake for brekkie, no mid morning snack, banquet for lunch - no alcohol, no afternoon snack, maybe a smoothie for dinner if I'm feeling good, or just a small dinner, no alcohol in the evening or snacks.
Hopefully it shouldnt be toooooo far over my allowance for the day:rolleyes1
You'll do great and are doing FANTASTIC so far! :yay:

The last levy in Lincoln County broke this morning at 6:30 ... :( :worried: I really feel bad for those folks ... they've been shoring up that levy for weeks now and it rained yesterday and again last night and early this morning and the darn thing just couldn't take any more water. Sad to see an entire community go under water like that ... the last 500-year flood was in 1993 and now we're having another one ... where the hell did the other 475 years go?

I sure wish there was a way we could send all this excess water out to CA to help put out those fires.

Back to the bank conversion I go ... :scared1:

Well, we went to the party and it was GREAT! They had "Caribbean" food, steel drum music and a glorious evening. There were door prizes and swimming contests. Rob took part in the swimming contest for adults.....and won! He won...are you paying attention Bendy my baseball fan?........He won 5 tickets to see the Washington Nats play the Atlanta Braves.....Each ticket is valued at $150, right off of home plate, free parking and $35 credit for food and merchadise per ticket....:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Woohoo!! You will have a blast!

BTW ... if you want something other than beach time in St. Thomas look at the mangrove kayaking / snorkeling excurison. If DCL doesn't offer it any longer let me know - I have a link to a tour operator there and it's the same one we used in 2005 through DCL. We really enjoyed it and it was very relaxing and informative - a lot of fun, too!

Good morning/afternoon all....

Karen - Keep at it....you're doing great!

Andy - Don't forget to have FUN at Lina's party too :cool1:

Carrie -

Mel - good luck with the job situation - hope the new job is what you're hoping for!

Benda - I've been watching all the flooding news...it's just crazy. Our river just started receding (a bit) and we have rain in the forecast too. Everyone who's near water - stay safe.

I know I've missed something I wanted to say, but I guess that's what I get for posting before I've had any caffeine :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Just a word of caution / concern: if it becomes a trend, have the cats checked by a vet. Other than unclean litter boxes, urinating other places could be a sign of an illness. :worried:

I thought of that too. We've had them checked recently, and they were ok. We've added another litter box, but I think they were just overdue for changing. If I discover another accident, I will schlepp them back to the vet....:sad2:

They're both 10 years old, I don't know at what piont cats are considered "elderly"....

Paige, I have no idea what we're going to do in St. Thomas or in St. Martin either. We've never been to either port, and I can't decide if I want to do beach stuff, or island tours, or shopping.

Ok, so here's a cruise question....if you were to do a beach day at one of the 2 ports, which one would it be (not including Castaway Cay)?

I know at CC I want to do the Stingray Encounter now that DS is old enough, and I think he may spend a little time either with grandparents or at Scuttle's Cove so Pete and I can sneak over to Serenity....we didn't get there last time.

Jay and I can't really do the beach ... it drives us crazy after about an hour. Too many people, too much activity, too much squishiness between the toes! :rotfl2:

We went sailing in the 12-metre regatta in St. Martin ... Jen I know you guys can't do that with Thomas because they won't allow for kids under 10 or 12, I can't remember which, but it was a blast and you don't need any sailing experience at all. The best part about it is that you get to race on yachts that have sailed in the Americas Cup. :thumbsup2

I think that's the excursion my FIL will want to do - he LOVES sailing and I think he'd have a blast!

Yep, Thomas is a beach nut, so we'll probably do 1 beach day besides CC, but I'm thinking of either trying to pick one excursion where we'd leave him on the ship for the day (naughty of us I know) or do something with him in the morning and take him back to the ship for the afternoon.

Do we have to tender at these ports? I know, I haven't done my research yet  - on KK1 this was also the last thing I researched...the port stuff.

I thought DIS boards kept track of trash talk. I would hope that you would value your relationship with family more than what you have been sharing. Please, no more laundry airing.
Chris

I'm gonna throw my two cents in here for what it's worth (and I'm sure that's not even worth two cents) ...

I agree with Chris. Quite frankly, some of this information makes me cringe, not only for the original poster, but for her family as well. This is a public forum and anyone can read what's posted here.

Carrie, can you imagine how hurt Kelsey would be if she read some of the things you've posted about her lately? I know I would be upset if that happened to me. Just something to think about. :goodvibes

There is no tendering at either port - the ship docks right at the pier which makes life so much easier!

Yeay! So in theory, it would be fairly easy to run back to the ship and drop something off ;)

Actually, we'll have to sit down sometime and figure out what we want to do....so I guess it's ok we still have some time to plan and dream! :goodvibes

It was kinda funny - I had the trolley and lighthouse planned for Key West on our Western, and DS didn't want to go. He wanted to be in the club! Of course, I think Pete wanted to be at the air-conditioned club too when I made him walk all they way down Duval St. and to Southernmost Point....

Actually we Tendered in St. Thomas on our first cruise - Jan 2005.

Not sure where DCL stacks up if there are a lot of ships in on the day they go. I've seen pictures in years past of the ship always being in the harbor and not at the dock.

Maybe it has changed over the past couple of years. They have another dock on the far side of the harbor (someone had a picture from the top of the tram that shows the Magic way back in the other port - it was a reroute cruise). You do NOT want to come into the other port. Too far from everything.

I have had to put the cruise on the back burner because of our upcoming trip, but after hearing those steel drums tonight, it's got me in the mood to cruise. I wish DCL would use steel drums for the sailaway party.
Those dang drums do it to me every time!!!:rotfl2:

Hiya Jeff! Where've you been lately?

Thanks for the tip...I'll just have to plan for it either way I guess.

I have to agree. I have felt like this for quite some time, but I thought I was alone. Thanks for speaking up.

Best wishes to all concerned. Now who agrees that steel drums should play at the sailaway party, and what are we gonna do about it?:rotfl: :rotfl:

You weren't alone Paige. ;)

And yes....I absolutely agree with you on those Steel Drums. Caribbean Beach resort used to have a SD band play every Tuesday and Thursday night and it was the highlight of our stay. On our 2005 Magic cruise we enjoyed a SD band for a few hours by the Family pool. It was awesome. I think I should go and post that on the "Don't let DCL get rid of...." thread.

Just so everyone knows. What I had posted over the last 3 days has been nothing but the truth of what has been happening. I am personally ashamed that I have to admit to people that my relationship with Kelsey is the way it is. But that is one request that my councilor has made, is that I share with people and stop acting like we have the perfect relationship. He went onto say that you would be amazed at how many people are in the same boat as you and will still accept you. We have seen where that got me now haven't we.

As for this being a public board I am will aware of that. After discussing it with Scott that is one reason I thought it would be a good idea. We are looking for all the help we can get. There is more to the Kelsey story then most of you know. A few of you do know and thanks to those that have been a great help. But we have tried everything we can come up with along with our concealers, school counselors, and Kelsey's councilor. We are at a loss. All I was doing was looking for advice and a different point of view on how to see it Kelsey's way. As for Kelsey, she is well aware that we are looking for help through others, and she is aware that we talk with you and other adults. The other adults are in person and Kelsey is sometimes around to add her side of it. Which she does willing. Kelsey knows that there are problems and she is trying on her end to get help also.

Like I said to Chris, I will not discuss my family on this thread any longer. Thanks for all of the helpful insight.

While I have compassion for your family, this is not the place. Best wishes to you all.:goodvibes
