I always overpack, so I'm trying to be good and not pack too much. One benefit...I can always buy anything I forget!

Afternoon all

So I just booked all our shows for Las Vegas in October We're doing three Cirque du Soleil shows KA, Mystere and "O"

Still debating on our anniversary dinner but I think we're going with Delmonico at the Venetian. It came HIGHLY recommended by our friends and family. I'm gonna have a heart attack when our check comes at the end of the meal though I am not the kind of person to pay that much for food but it IS our 10th wedding anniversary so I am taking a very deep breath and making an exception.

I am getting very excited, it's been almost 10 years since we've been there, since our wedding actually

You'll love the Cirque shows...they were wonderful. I think KA is my fav.

Cass, a lot of my food buddies here on the DIS had good things to say about Delmonicos as did Jay's aunt and uncle who live in Vegas. I think you'll both be very pleased with your choice.

On another note ... this is an amazing tennis match!

An update - Federer has clawed back two sets and is equal in the fifth. Mind you, Brenda, I am amazed he's managed to get back those two sets. Nadal certainly deserved to win. Now looks like rain might stop play again.

Just got in from church and turned the match on, I was surprised to see Nadal up 2 sets to love.

Just got back home and now see all things are tied up in the 5th set 2-2. I see they are having another rain delay.

It's been an amazing match.

I'm just bummed now that it's raining again because that means they'll finish it tomorrow most likely and I'll be stuck at work and won't get to watch the end.

When I opened our morning newspaper I saw that my former foreman "Jack" at the water department passed away this past Friday. When Hazel called his house this morning his wife "Gail" was so upset that we found out about Jack's death from reading the obit in the paper. Gail thought for sure that either her son or daughter called us on Friday. Jack and Gail were supposed to be at Lina's grad party last Saturday, but Jack had been rushed to the hospital with a gall bladder attack. During the surgery, Jack suffered a heart attack on the table. Jack was brought back, but suffered two more heart attacks during the week and finally passed away on Friday after being on life support the last four days. I will be taking a vacation day this Thursday as Hazel, Lina and I will not miss Jack's funeral, he is going to be missed greatly. Jack was a dear friend to all three of us.

I know, I sat here in shock when I turned to the obit page and I saw Jack's photo on the top of the page. I yelled to Hazel to come out into the livingroom. I will never forget the look on her face when I told her what I had just read.
