well, i was offered a job teaching full time for a well known online university (I have been teaching for them part time for two years now)!!! I've applied for this job several times and never made it past the written interview stage until last month!

I have had two phone interview in the last three weeks, my references were contacted on Friday and yesterday morning. Then late afternoon yesterday I was called an offered the position!

I'm so excited! The biggest reason for looking for a telecommuting job is so that I could be involved in my kids lives more during the day. For the last three years I've worked all day, come home to the kids but only have been able to be involved in dinner and bedtime. I missed them so much!

So this is a step up in my career and I'll be at home! I'll have to travel to Arizona (expenses paid) every July for graduation, but it really sounds like a great job! I start July 1st.

My boss is leaving for a conference today so I had to call him at home last night and tell him. That was NOT easy at all! He's such a great guy and has been so flexible and understanding with me since I had Amelia three years ago. Great person overall it is going to be sad to leave him and King's. They're like second family to me. I love that college.

SO after speakign with him and telling him it is mainly me wanting to be with the kids more that fueled my looking elsewhere (King's doesn't have a flex time policy) rather than the job, the pay or the people he wants to try and work something out with HR. He thinks if I'm willing, that he is going to push to get them to develop a flex time policy so I can stay. He doesn't want me to go.

So now I'm confused!!!

:cool1: Yeah Melody!

Time for us folks to start getting ready for tonight's activities, see ya later.............:wave2:

Here's a pic of Lina's flowers, you are getting to see them before Lina as the flowers are in hiding and she won't see then until the Graduation Ceremony is over. Our school colors are green and white incase you can't tell......:lmao:

Lovely Andy.

Hey everyone:wave2:

I got an email yesterday from Linda "Lindyloo", from KK1
She told me to tell everyone hello and that she and Elouise are doing well!

heres our vacation dilema.
robin doesnt think she'll be able to get the time off at xmas with the new job now. they are going to let her know soon about getting a week off in oct instead. we're thinking one of 3 things.
1)wdw trip(week)
2)wdw and 4 day dcl wonder
3)dcl magic 7 day.

we're going crazy because until we know for sure what week she gets off, we cant make any travel plans.:headache: :headache:
at this point we havnt cancelled the dec trip yet, but it doesnt look good.
i will still be off work those 2 weeks in dec. i dont see any reason why i cant go.:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1:laughing: perhaps cinnamon could join me.:lovestruc

I'd go for option 2

Good to hear that she's still keeping in touch. Wish her well from me, Rose.

thats what we're leaning towards. we saw a great rate on the wonder cruise but dont want to book until we're sure which week she gets off work.
we'd still have a total of 4 or 5 days at wdw too. :thumbsup2

I think I'd do a price comparison to see if the cruise prices for October are really high (since it's so close) or if they have discounted prices (trying to fill up the ship). If the price is right, go DCL!

I'd love to do a land/sea sometime - but it would have to be at least 5 days at WDW followed by a 4 day (minimum!) cruise.... :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

some of those cruise travel agencies have those last second deals on cruises.
we've ben watching those closely on line.
we saw a last second deal on a repo cruise in august.:rotfl: :rotfl2:
it appears some accountant in WI had to cancel his cruise.:rotfl: :rolleyes1

Just don't do a DCL Land/Sea package. It is much more than you can do it on your own.

Yeah, you wish. At the prices they are at now though, I think my total trip price is less than what just the cruise is going for.

Still can't believe the deal we got on that cruise. DCL really undersold it.

If I look at the per night price, it is cheaper than I was paying for 1 week all-inclusives 5 years ago for the 3 of us. And that price does include my estimate for tips and drinks along with other purchases and pictures.

no, we're really happy you guys are all going. its like a part of our family is going and we cant wait for all the pics and trip reports.:thumbsup2

yeah, we already have the annual passes for the park. figured we could get a passholders rate for the hotel. then maybe get a last second cruise deal.
its just frustrating not knowing.:headache:

worst case scenario, we do wdw for the week, and thats still pretty good.
:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We're buying the 500 minute internet package, so I'm sure I can find some time to post on the BOB during that time.

Pictures may be another thing if the upload takes too long.

let me ask you this numbers boy....
you think it would be to our advantage(if we do cruise in oct) to cancel the bob cruise, then rebook it while on the wonder??

Depends.

If you're only booking at about $1,200 on the Wonder, the top savings, would be $120, but more likely less than that because it is figured after the taxes are taken off. Your gamble would be if the BOB goes up by more than your discount, you lose out. If it is still the same when you cruise this fall, it would be a win.

Before you look to transfer the discount to a cruise this year, put a request in for Dreams to quote you on the cruise you're interested in. They may have a group booking for that time and you could take advantage of their discount. May be equal to the DCL onboard offer.

Then call DCL and see what the cost of the cruise would be if you were to transfer the BOB.

Remember, you will still get $50 or $100 I think of OBC with DCL for a 3 or 4 nighter, just not the $200 that goes with 7 night cruises.

Dreams will also have a OBC for you with either cruise (they give it if you xfer a DCL ressie to them).

Hope that is clear. If not, I can explain some more if you have specific questions.
