My in laws are coming early for their visit and Rob won't be home until Sunday night!

...and my house isn't ready.

Have a great weekend everyone. I'm off to clean and get groceries. I have to pick up Rob's BIL at the airport this afternoon. Yes, that's right, it'll be me, the BIL, and my kids until Sunday night when Rob or his parents get here. I feel a little awkward and quite nervous.....

Good morning all,

Just got ds #2 off to work. Made his lunch- fed him breakfast and sunscreened his back. He has the perfect summer job, setting up beach chairs. How can being on the beach all day be work!!!! He leaves Monday for 5 weeks for field training for ROTC in Montgomery Alabama. He can't take his cell phone, so we will have no contact with him. That's going to be hard, even at college we talk every few days. I have been ironing his uniforms for the last few nights. I can't believe he is this grown up.

I have a lot of nothing planned for today, floating in the pool and catching up on hours of TV that I have dvr'd for the last few weeks.

we are HUGE fans of the Muppets show and season 3 came out a week ago.

Thanks, all. Yes, my house is fine really. I just make myself (and everyone else) crazy right before company gets here. It's funny: I don't care about anyone else's house when I visit them, but I clean like crazy when I have company. Why do I care what others think about this? I think it is because I don't have a paying job, so this is my job and I want to be good at it.

We're out with friends tomorrow night - chinese..... its my one chance to eat nuts - I ADORE chicken satay. I am soooooo going to try and be good and not have too much wine either.

Karen, it's ok to have a bad dinner every once in awhile. Just not all the time

I have very plain suppers, absolutely nothing exciting. Last night was home-made spaghetti, night before was oven baked chicken breast, rice and peas and carrots, night before that was pork chops cooked on my George Foreman grill, new potatoes and corn. Tomorrow will be sausage stew (carrots, red potatoes and breakfast sausage & onions). I often eat Chicken Stir fry or plain oven baked chicken breasts...and when Rob is not home for supper I eat either soup or a lean cuisine.

Sounds like you are doing really well Karen, keep it up So far I have lost 5 pounds

Just checking back in ... we made it through the day and managed to get the basement repaired before the storms started again.

It was a scary afternoon - several funnel clouds spotted near where I work and further south where my parents house is and just across the Mississippi in the Metro-East area. I don't think anything touched down but there was a lot of wind damage and a lot of flash flooding.

Looking forward to drying out tomorrow.

Oh my! - I'm sooooooo jealous - I've been working like a slave all day. Three hours of hard gardening at Ellis' school this morning, half an hour off (I had to make lunch in this time) then over to his Beavers for 2 1/2 hours more digging I ache like crazy and my manicure is hideous I've just got back. I intend of having a deep hot bath in a minute to ease the aches

I know exactly what you mean. I'm a perfectionist - I'd vacuum the lawn if Neil would let me. Skirting boards are my "thing". I'm obsessed with wiping them down and dust on them. I wasnt like it in the old house cuz they were varnished wood but theese are painted white and they show up every spec of dust
