10/24/2009 Bash On the Boat (I'm with BOB) - Thread #7

So I am rethinking going to Vegas in October, I really don't want to be without my princess for 5 days so I am thinking we should drive down the west coast all the way to San Diego (Rob's head office is there). We could do DL and DCA, San Diego Zoo, Seaworld, some beach time etc.
You're like us, I think. The thought of going away with out children sounds great at the time and for quite some time afterwards, but then when it comes time to either go or really start the planning the excitement fades and you cannot imagine leaving them behind. :(

yikes, that was a long run on sentence!!!

LOVE the pics you found on your photopass. Glad you got to them before they expired! :cutie:

Hi all,

Seems like a slow weekend to DIS. I do hope several see this question.

My neighbor is thinking about a Disney cruise for his honeymoon. Any advice?
Palo's of course.

I told him I would ask the experts!

Have a nice weekend. The weather has been great here!
HI!!!
We did the 7night Eastern for our honeymoon back in 2001 and it was our very first cruise. It was AWESOME!!! :woohoo: Some things I'd recommend:

1 - Couple's cabana massages
2 - Cadillac Lounge at night for some quiet music, drinks and romantic dancing
3 - A verandah FOR SURE! :woohoo:
4 - Adult-geared excursions at the port. We did the Champagne Catamaran in St. Thomas (to St. JOhn) and it was AWESOME. We also took a taxi to a quieter portion of Orient Beach in St. Maarten and there was practically nobody there. IT was awesome and we had the beach bar practically to ourselves.
5 - Palo - We were dumb and didn't realize the wonderfulness of Palo on this cruise  . But now knowing what we do wish we had known better.:lovestruc

Hmmm..I'm sure I can think of more....

Just popping in here to say a quick hi  and I hope everyone is having a good long weekend!! I'm hoping to maybe get caught up a bit here tomorrow. Have a great Sunday everyone!
Hi CHERYL!

...and everyone. :yay:

Hope you had a great weekend and that everyone in the U.S. is enjoying the day off!

We just happen to have a few Disney DVD's :rolleyes1 :thumbsup2 Now we just need something to play them on for her
WE haven't taken any extensive road trips with them, but this past spring we knew we had a few 2+ hour road trips planned so we purchased the portable DVD players. This was a LIFESAVER. Amelia didn't make a peep during any of the trips.

Love the pics Cass!!!

Just got home with our sweetie after a mercy trip through the McDonald's drive thru..........:lmao:

Seems like Miss Lina had quite a few adventures of her own the past few days. As she was getting on the boat for the three hour dinner cruise, her dress kind of blew up in the air, when she went to correct that problem, the "girls" got exposed. She said she felt like jumping off the boat. Looks like "the family curse" was busy in Chicago as well as Florida............:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
AHHHHHHHHHHHH! :scared1:

Oh, the poor thing!

Oooh, sleeping is good :goodvibes

Ok, I just ran the numbers...(where is number boy when you need him!) and I don't think we will be driving :sad2:

I figured it would cost us about $1000 in gas alone (and that's with a hybrid!) then 7-8 nights in a hotel ($750 on the cheap side) then about 14 days of food (lots of $$$ the way Rob eats!) and we haven't done anything yet! :scared1:

I am going to look into some flights now :rolleyes1
I know this is probably a silly idea, but have you ever thought of just looking at what cheaper flights you can get from where you are and then seeing what there is to do at those destinations?

Google has really cool mapping/direction thing! You type in your starting address and your ending address and it comes up with a route for you, then if you want to change your route, you just drag the purple route and voila!
Shows you KMs or Miles and directions too! :cool1:

It's 2610 KMS (about 1630 miles) from here to San Diego on the most direct route but the route I want to take is about 3143 Kms (about 1965 miles)

That's a lot of driving :scared:

4000 miles roundtrip!

I was going to say you better save your pennies for the gas alone but now I see you might fly instead. Probably a better choice Cass.::yes::
(Hey! They moved the smilies again!!)

Think so MG? MG is always right, so lookout California (and Idaho, Washington, Oregon too!) here we come :cool1:

Ooooh I wish I was at least OFTEN "right". Thanks for the moral booster anyway. :smokin: (This smilie is really cute...)

Ooooh I miss those!!!! We only get them here in July/August.

Whenever we have a storm and a rainy day, I think of you Cass. That's a good thing too! I never knew anyone who loved the rain as much as I do. :cloud9:

Love the pics Cass!!!

I see a club forming now with Sistah P, Karen and now Lina. We'll have to come up with a whitty name for them too. Maybe the "Bottoms Up Girls"??:rolleyes1

I noticed the smilies were moved around as soon as I went to make my last post.........:headache:

Line would have to be in the group, "Bottoms up and Tops Down" my poor little girl........:faint:

Today is the day we will be working on getting Lina's graduation announcements and graduation party invitations ready for mailing. Looks I will be busy a good part of today. ;)

MG--thanks for the tissue warning before listening to Stealing Cinderella, the song really got to me, especially after spending the last five days without our princess: Cinderella

How about the "Bad Moon Rising Crew"....We'd even have a theme song!:lmao:

It's been storming here since about 7:30 this evening ... on top of the three storms we had this morning. It looks like we're going to have one long stormy night - power went out again around 9PM which is bad because our pump has been running in the basement due to all the rain. :scared:

Never a dull moment here in the Armpit of the Midwest.

You're welcome to it Jeff - I think we're supposed to get more of the same tomorrow.

Yeah, I saw you guys were getting hit in the St.L area. I was thinking about you.

We're done now for at least a few days it looks. Not sure how much we even got, but it seemed like a good rain.

Yes we are Mike. We have some thunderstorms rolling through right now but not the one's that Cass and I love the best. Gotta love those loud cracks of thunder and then the whole sky lights up!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

It was a pretty light show, wasn't it?
