I will try to get back into goofyfreak's good graces!

I hadn't seen my gorgeous sis since before Christmas: she is beautiful! I have always thought so, but since joining the BOBalosers, she looks as good now as before the last two babies! Maybe even younger!:lovestruc

:woohoo: :woohoo: :cheer2: :cheer2: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Thank you Tanya.

CONGRATS CLAIRE! I will have to come and watch a softball game.

We fly 18th Dec and return 31st Dec:banana: - plenty of time to get together for a mini meet:cool1:

It's sounding like there will be quite a few of us Bobers there :cool1: :woohoo:

Where did you get your info? I'd be interested to know which parks to avoid etc

I started looking for info on Christmas on the theme park board before this past Christmas and then was watching for posts from people as they returned from their holiday trips and trip reports from people that went over the holidays. I also purchased Tour Guide Mike to see what kind of tips he gives (there's a link to it on the Theme Park board here on the DIS) I am also thinking of buying a book called Walt Disney World Peak Seasons: Maximizing your Disney Vacation by Scott Donahue It's available from Amazon or Barnes & Noble on the web. Even though we have been to WDW many times I still love all the planning and I like to get new "tour" books. I purchse a new Birnbaum guide almost every year :rolleyes1

Not really:rolleyes: - its not as straight forward as I initially tought...I've learned a lot, but none of it makes any difference -We still need to avoid every nut:rolleyes:

 I was really hoping you were going to get better news

My quote for 14 days comes to $440 approx for a 4 door basic car. I think thats quite good:confused3 We usually get our car through Virgin the tour op, but we found they were much more expensive so we're sorting out our own to save a few $$
That seems like a good price especially if it includes all the taxes. That's better than the prices I get when I plug in your dates with the coupon I have

yes I am from the Boston area. yes you need to go to the cape, Christmas tree shop, duck ride, some circle tour. Walt will help me remember what you need to do while there. He is a good tour guide. You are going at the right time. Diane

I loved Boston when we went... we did the duck tour and went into the christmas shop. I was pregnant with Ellis at the time and I bought an ornament of a preganant lady from that shop. We hang it on the tree every year and it reminds us of our great holiday there.

Where is the Christmas shop you are both talking about? I love Christmas shops!

I'm off to bed folks...I'm shattered and Neil and I both have caught Ellis' cold and feel dreadful:sick:  (of course...Neil being a mand thinks he has "man-flu":lmao: ...cant be just a normal cold for Neil:rolleyes: ...he has to be worse than me and have "man-flu":lmao: ...thank god that men dont have babaies...the world would end in one generation:goodvibes

Goodnight folks....

Make sure you give me something to read in the morning:thumbsup2

Hope you feel better in the morning Karen  :wizard:

Hazel just called and cancelled out on her class tonight, now I know she is really sick. Yep, just took her temp, it is 101.2.........

Hazel had her soup, now it's back to bed for her. Angelina is taking a nap and I think I might take a little power nap myself.............:faint:

These crazy temps, going up and down, are not helping one little bit......:sad2:

Hope Hazel beats this bug quickly too :wizard:

:wizard: Hopefully everyone else will stay healthy!!!!! :wizard:

Sure, I got a couple on photobucket already :thumbsup2

Happy...

Kira is gorgeous! She looks good in that color!
However, why is she wearing Minnie Mouse? :confused3
Stay true to Mickey!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I saw the Fairfield. We've had good luck with them. That is an option for us.

I didn't know Dreams had room only. I'll have to check that out.

When you go to their homepage scroll down towards the bottum and they have a section Orlando hotels near Disney. I'm still tempted to book the Gaylord Palms and see what that is all about. For the night of Dec. 19 I can get it for $209.60 including tax but that is almost double what we'd be paying at the Fairfield Inn on I-Dr. but it is only 1 night :confused3

Tell me about the jump in car rental prices. I can't believe it is $300 for 5 days right after Xmas. Tampa is about $50-$60 less. Oh, and the $300 doesn't include all the crazy taxes and fees they throw on there.

Guess I won't get $5.89 a day before taxes like I did in Feb.

Wow the $268.40 I have for 9 nights is including all the taxes and fees. The only problem I have is I booked the car rental before the tickets on Midwest (they were available earlier and it was a good rate, I'm glad I booked it when I did) and we were originally thinking we'd take the evening flight so I have it reserved that we'd pick the car up at 10:30pm but then we decided to go with the afternoon flight so we'll actually be picking the car up around 6:30pm. When I try and change my reservation on line it looks like it will change the price to what the rates currently are at. I need to call Alamo and see if they can change the time for me without changing my rate. Otherwise we'll have alot of time to kill in the airport that first night.

I was glad we had frequent flier miles we could use to get our tickets! I was amazed at how the prices for inflated for flights over Christmas vs. the week before :scared1:

I'm always a little leary about booking a flight this soon. The cheapest I've seen is $303. p/per. That's more than we paid the last trip. We may just keep an eye on the prices and if we don't find anything...Mike said he'd rather drive. (I'm not crazy about that idea... but we'll see)

Dec. 20 - Jan. 4

Do you have annual passes? Do you usually go into the parks everyday? We had gotten annual passes a few times in the past and had 2 trips within a year and I am thinking of doing that for this trip(thinking of going back June '09), that way we could go into the parks even for a few hours and not feel like we're wasting a day on our passes.

We are used to paying around $200.00/per for our airfares to MCO. When I got our tickets if we would have paid cash they were $397.00, I just checked again and the same flights we have if I were to pay cash today the tickets are up to $475.00/person :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: People told me they are just so $$$ because it is over Christmas.
