Yep! Trying to decide when best to go. I am looking at 12/18 - 12/23 or 12/27 -1/2/09. We need to be home for Christmas Eve and Day.

If you go with the front dates, you'll miss us. No way we can go before or on Xmas. Not my choice. Heck, my parents are dead and my siblings are athiests (sp?). We get together on a weekend between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

It's Suz side of the family that screws everything up. :rolleyes1

Well, I guess you all are upset that I haven't been around and don't want to talk to me. That's ok, I can take a hint. I am just going to go and take my boy to school. My feelings are hurt.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Paige..I love the monorail in your sig.

No, ask Karen how many times they each/both screamed/giggled on the phone. I wasn't there, but I'm sure they did.

There is nothing better than screams/giggles between friends :goodvibes I was talking to Lurking Lynn on the phone Sun. night and Al asked me to leave the room because he couldn't hear the TV :rolleyes1

Speaking of Lurking Lynn she and her DH Chris will be at WDW for Christmas too :woohoo:

She is getting so big and starting to look like a toddler.

What a cutie. Uncle Mike and Aunt Robin sure do miss her. :

She still blows kisses to everyone who comes and goes :goodvibes I still can't believe you taught her that in like 5 seconds :lovestruc A wonderful KK memory :cloud9:

:woohoo: We get to babysit this afternoon while Michael & Court go grocery shopping.

Addison is starting her terrible 2's. When she gets mad...she spits. (Court said, "I don't know where she got that".) We saw her in action on Saturday. We had to hide our faces...we were laughing so hard. (MaMa & PaPa are bad)

She just turned 18 mos. yesterday and is talking up a storm.

She is really testing them.:

You guys sound like awesome granparents ::yes:: I wish my mom was still around, she would be in heaven with two little granddaughters. Her only other granddaughter came 22 years ago and that was the only one she got. All her other grandkids were stinky boys :lmao:

I tell Rob that if my mom was still here we would have no problem finding a babysitter. No doubt my mom would be calling us every few days exclaiming that we need a night out :teeth:

My dad is not around much and Rob's parents aren't as involved in her life as much as I thought/hoped they would be. I even let his mom watch Kira come into this world in the hopes that it would bond them a little more. :guilty: Oh well, she has an aunt that ADORES her

Did anyone else notice the MINNIE MOUSE on the outfit?!?!?! :lmao:

Such a cutie, Cass!

I did...No way did Cass buy that. :confused3 :rotfl2:

It must've been a gift.

I think Rob bought it when he bought her the purple Minnie shoes. :confused3

Or maybe Minnie is Kira's favorite character and Cass was willing to sacrifice for her little angel. ;) :cutie:

I noticed Minnie on the outfit too and had the same thought you did Robin, it had to be a gift :rotfl:

Cass great pictures!

LOL, you guys know me well ::yes:: I buy her Disney stuff but not Minnie stuff :rolleyes1 Rob bought her that purple outfit ;)

Shel, you have a great memory girl :thumbsup2 Rob did buy her that outfit at the same time he got the minnie shoes  We are gonna get along just fine hun :goodvibes

No, ask Karen how many times they each/both screamed/giggled on the phone. I wasn't there, but I'm sure they did.

I think that's awesome that they are such good friends, although after meeting your wife (and Karen for that matter) I totally see why ::yes::

Paige..I love the monorail in your sig.

Me too, I love it!!! :cool1:

I don't think my 2 sisters that live in the area are too happy with us for planning a trip right over Christmas but our parents are dead as are Al's and we usually get together on Christmas and an additional weekend day sometime around Christmas so we'll just miss the actual Christmas Day gathering if we even continue it. Both my brothers are easy going and they said we'll just get together a different day like we usually do anyways. As my family continues to keep getting bigger as my nieces and nephew get married and have children it is hard to get us all together anyways. There were 33 of us at my sister's this past Christmas and that was with 2 missing because my nephew's baby was sick so his wife stayed home with the baby. It's a good thing my sister has a big house!

I am leaning towards the New Years dates. I know it's more money but it works out better for my work schedule. Woody commented on staying at a deluxe in a concierge room since we would be lounging around the resort more. He will probably change his toon when he sees the rate!

Which is better - dollar alamo or budget car rental?

we'd be collecting from mco.

We always rent from Alamo. Dollar usually has better deals but the cars are a lot older and don't seem to be taken care of. Just my opinion though.

We have been renting from Alamo lately too. We used to rent from Avis all the time but the last few times Alamo has had a much better price plus Al likes to be able to pick out what car he wants from the ones that are available, that way he can sit in them and decide which one gives him the best headroom. With Avis they would "assign" you to a specific car.

Karen I have extra coupons for car rentals from our Entertainment book. If you'd like me to mail them to you just PM me and I'll send them to you if you think they would help.

Welcome back. Did you get all unpacked. How is your new house and neighborhood. Diane

Not all unpacked yet. Rob had duty on Saturday (7am-7am Sunday) so we weren't able to move around the heavy stuff. Since I'll be here 3 and a half years, I am taking my time to put everything away. I'll even paint some walls, too. The house is bigger than the one I had before and I only have one neighbor as of yet. The other houses are still vacant. Honestly, it's a great house to be in for our last years in military life. It is new and I have NEVER lived in anything other than substandard quarters when it has to do with military housing.

Its our birthday and xmas prezzies to each other and we'll have to put up with Neil working a few extra weekends etc, but its worth it!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

I wanna pack:yay:

That's what I'm going to tell Suz - we're cutting back on Xmas presents then.

If you're staying on WDW property, you could start making some door signs. :rotfl: (would just look funny if you're staying off property)

That's what we already told Rachel too, this is all of our Christmas presents. I'm sure we'll end up getting her a few more though ;)

Gee, this really gives me something to think about. I'm going to have to ponder over this idea...........:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I told Hazel we could take our little 4' Christmas Tree down to our vacation home and have Christmas there this year................

Great idea Andy!

I may look that route then.

There is an Embassy Suites in Lake Buena Vista that has a breakfast each morning and a manager reception (drinks/snack) from 5-7 each night. It is not much more than the Moderates (only about $226) and it would be a two room suite.

I also saw the Hilton. I think that was $269.

If we only plan on 1 day in the parks, I'm thinking I don't need to be in WDW. Although, I've never not stayed in WDW when there.

Our first night in Orlando we are staying off property (we don't get in until after 6) so I have been checking prices. Dreams Unlimited looked like they had some good prices for before Christmas at a number of different Orlando hotles including the Dolphin and Swan and actually for Gaylord Palms too. I am tempted to book Gaylord Palms but for now we I have us booked at a Fairfield Inn on I-Drive so that we accrue more Marriott points.

:lmao: :lmao:
2 years ago when we went down at xmas we had cassie with us. robin and i
took presents for her but decided not to take any for each other....
sure enough, around xmas day my pop tart says "i want presents"
so i snuck down to the gift shop and bought her a disney holiday watch.

Me?.........keep a suprise:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

He hadnt even come through the front door when I was screaming "we're going to Disney for christmas" and jumping round the lounge:rotfl2:

I remember many a time jumping up and down in the living room with Rachel after booking a Disney trip!

I got a quote via www.usrentacar.co.uk for $440 for a 4 door for 13 nights
Wow $440 for 13 nights is great! We are paying $268 for 8 nights and since I booked the car rental the prices have jumped

for those of you going to wdw and talking of not going to the parks much,
we suggest not missing the studios osbornes christmas, or epcots holiday decorations and music. and of course the MK is a must see.
we dont care if we have to ride wedway(a family fav) all day. just being there during the holidays is great.:santa: :santa: :santa:

Hi Karen

Well I guess we'll just have to talk to Suz about this trip then right :goodvibes

Glad to here you're going to be at WDW at Christmas time too :cool1: :woohoo: What dates will you be there? We will be there from Dec. 19-28

We fly 18th Dec and return 31st Dec:banana: - plenty of time to get together for a mini meet:cool1:

Ready with a pillow and smelling salts!

Thanks Shelley - I think we'll need it...:rolleyes1 - he came up with some good ideas for the garden but no price yet.. not a good sign:rolleyes: - he's getting back to us next week:eek: - will it take him that long to add it all up:rotfl2:

See Cheryl, I told you.

Karen and Suz had a pig squeeling contest on the phone yesterday from what I could gather.

Dont beleive a word he says Cheryl....Suz and I didnt squeel one bit;)

... I know there will be crowds but I've been doing my research on how best to avoid them.us

Where did you get your info? I'd be interested to know which parks to avoid etc

Yep! Trying to decide when best to go. I am looking at 12/18 - 12/23 or 12/27 -1/2/09. We need to be home for Christmas Eve and Day.

:woohoo:

 Karen sorry you didn't get more of a clear answer. I was really hoping and praying you would have  Have you learned any more in your research on the internet?

Not really:rolleyes: - its not as straight forward as I initially tought...I've learned a lot, but none of it makes any difference -We still need to avoid every nut:rolleyes:

Sure, I got a couple on photobucket already :thumbsup2

Happy...

Tired...

February_20080219_0237.jpg

She's growing up so fast but she's as georgous as ever:cutie:

yes I am from the Boston area. yes you need to go to the cape, Christmas tree shop, duck ride, some circle tour. Walt will help me remember what you need to do while there. He is a good tour guide. You are going at the right time. Diane

I loved Boston when we went... we did the duck tour and went into the christmas shop. I was pregnant with Ellis at the time and I bought an ornament of a preganant lady from that shop. We hang it on the tree every year and it reminds us of our great holiday there.

No, ask Karen how many times they each/both screamed/giggled on the phone. I wasn't there, but I'm sure they did.

I told you yesterday....princess: 's dont squeel:goodvibes

Karen I have extra coupons for car rentals from our Entertainment book. If you'd like me to mail them to you just PM me and I'll send them to you if you think they would help.

My quote for 14 days comes to $440 approx for a 4 door basic car. I think thats quite good:confused3 We usually get our car through Virgin the tour op, but we found they were much more expensive so we're sorting out our own to save a few $$

I'm off to bed folks...I'm shattered and Neil and I both have caught Ellis' cold and feel dreadful:sick:  (of course...Neil being a mand thinks he has "man-flu":lmao: ...cant be just a normal cold for Neil:rolleyes: ...he has to be worse than me and have "man-flu":lmao: ...thank god that men dont have babaies...the world would end in one generation:goodvibes

Goodnight folks....

Make sure you give me something to read in the morning:thumbsup2
