OK Kiddies, time for me to leave to get my haircut, be back later.........:wave2:

I know this is off-topic (what isn't around here?) but I'm so excited that I wanted to share ...

Jay's birthday is next Saturday and the STL Brewer's Festival is May 8-10 ... for his birthday present I was able to snag us two tickets to the VIP Brewer's dinner on May 8th. It's a 5-course dinner paired with various beers - the event will be hosted by some Food Network guy and all the local brewmasters will be in attendance at the dinner as well.

We're really pumped - we've both been wanting to try something like this for a long time.

I guess I'd better start getting back on the dreadmill ... :rotfl2:

So I'm searching vacation options for end of Feb/beginning of Mar 2009. Came across this. This seems too good to pass up, even though we were just at these places:

NCL, 5-nights on the Jewel:

Miami-Sea-Grand Cayman-Cozumel-Sea-Miami

Suite (285 sq ft) = $2,169  (that's cheap!)
Balcony (205 sq ft) = $1,969

Here's a couple more good ones.

NCL, 7-nights on the Spirit:

New Orleans – Sea – Costa Maya – Guatamala – Belize – Cozumel – Sea – New Orleans

Balcony = $2,692

NCL, 7-nights on the Dawn:

Miami – Sea – Samana, Dominican – St. Thomas – Tortola – Sea – Great Stirrup Cay – Miami

Balcony = $2,971 (that is over $2,000 less than DCL, $1K less than a DCL OV room, on their Tortola cruises)

That sound awesome B. I'm sure Jay (and you) will enjoy that.

Happy early B-day to Jay.

Benda - that's awesome! What a great gift! You're a good shopper -you'll have lots of fun.

Did I tell you my brother-in-law is a brewmaster? He'd be jealous...

(My b-day is October 17th, by the way...:lmao: )

I should have you do a price check for my rental car in December if you've got no work to do... :rotfl2: :lmao:

Thanks - I'll pass that along to him. Those cruise deals sound pretty good. I may have to do some poking this weekend. We're trying to find something less expensive to do next year for our 10th anniversary. We've scaled back from France to Hawaii to Jamaica to Mexico to ???? :rotfl2:

No, I didn't know your BIL is a brewmaster - that's so cool! Will he be on the cruise? You'd better warn him about us now if he will be! :lmao:

Your b-day is October 17th too??? ;) ;) ;)

There's a good bit to do in New Orleans, even for your little guy.:thumbsup2 Get your mind out of the gutter.

I thought you were taking this cruise for your anniversary?

Yes, my BIL will be on the cruise...and I have a feeling he'll fit right in! I'm sure he'd love chatting with everyone if I could get him on the boards...

By the way, for any of the WI BOBers....Riverside Brewery and Restaurant in West Bend has a pretty good brewmaster, hint, hint....

Wow, is that your b-day too???? ;) It must be a sign...fabulous people were born on that day!

Yeah, I was pricing Jamaica and Mexico for that week, and granted the sales haven't been listed yet, so rack rate, but still, the prices seem to be way up.

The one thing if we did go non-DCL, is probably best to look at islands DCL doesn't do so you can justify not doing DCL. ;)

Paige ... this cruise is for my 40th birthday (10/17 ... seems like someone else is celebrating a birthday then too ... :rolleyes1 )

As for the brewer's dinner ... there will be a review posted on the blog. Would you expect anything less? :rotfl2:

I'm seriously considering RCL's southern caribbean 7-night cruise that leaves from San Juan. Even though it hits St. Martin, it goes to other islands that DCL doesn't usually hit and it just sounds very appealing to us.

Guess we'll have to wait and see ... :confused3

Doesn't RCCL have one that goes out of San Juan to St. Lucia, Barbados, Antigua, and St. Thomas too?

That's one I want to try. Didn't price it though. Maybe I should. AirTran flies there and we have 2 free tickets plus a $100 gift certificate.

I'd like to see San Juan sometime....that might be a nice cruise.

I think our next big trip after BOB will either be a week-long WDW with DS or a land/sea. We have GOT to take DS to WDW!!!!

I think so. I want to say that the one we eyeballed was Curaco, Aruba, St. Martin and maybe Antigua? There are a couple of different options that they offer. All I know for sure is that St. Martin was the only island on the itinerary that we had already cruised to.
