Clarion on Cumberland. We use that one if we fly in the winter because they have a two-story parking structure and we park on the lower level - no snow.

We've also done the Four Points Sheraton, Ramada Plaza and I think a Hampton Inn (down by Thrifty).

All were good.

I will have to check those out....thanks for the suggestions!

Daycare for DS from birth to when he started school was something like $45,000.

Man, that's a lot of cruises.

Sounds about right....yikes! No wonder we don't have any $$$...I never put a total together before.

This is the first year I'm not maxing out the flexible spending account for childcare!

I now have Neil vacuuming the whole of the upstairs:banana:

Its bribery for me going to this awful party tonight:lmao:

That'll teach him to come home early:lmao:

Got all 5 of the ceiling fans done.............:yay:

Now "Little Hay Hay" wants me to take her out to grab a bite of lunch.........Yes Ma'am.......:worship: :worship: :worship:

I'm so thankful for the 529 accounts being there. I just have it pulled off the check every pay period. Don't miss it in little chunks. After 7 years, it has really added up. :thumbsup2

My problem is going to be the $8,000 per year for High School. :scared1:

We have a 529 for Thomas...Pete's grandmother started it for him as a baptism gift.

I've been vacillating about private school, but our public schools here are pretty good. DS will be going to one of the best elementary schools in town - we looked very carefully at schools when we bought our house, and DS wasn't even in the picture yet.

I was just wondering if there were enough of us staying at WDW or the general area the day before, if we can get a charter bus to transport us the morning of. I've heard of other DISrs doing that and it saves everyone a lot of $$$.

It's a great idea Melody, but I think most of us will be staying at the port that night. The early risers will be meeting up. I don't think I could get up that early and then not be a zombie later for embarkation :faint: :crazy2:

I think most of us will be at the Radisson, The Residence Inn or Country Inn.

An evening pool meet the night before would be awesome :cool1:

I'm trying to find the seaworld tickets - "go for a kid-price thingy" but I cant find it - anyone know if its finished or am I looking in the wrong place on their site?:confused3

Karen, are you thinking of doing Aquatica??? Sometimes it's still really warm in December, you may be able to pull it off :thumbsup2

Man, and that cap on child care through Sec 125 is only $5,000. That number has been there for I think 20 years. They really need to adjust that for inflation. I don't care which side of the isle the politicians are on, if they claim to be for working families, then make it so they can work.

$5,000 is only $96 a week. Sorry, can't find full week care for $96 and if I did, I wouldn't leave my son there.

Public schools in general in WI are pretty good. Our issue is we pay a ton in property taxes, live in one of the top districts in all of the Milwaukee metro area, and still send DS to a private school. :sad2:

We can go from Grill to gills (i.e. be fish :rotfl: ).

Evening around the pool would be a great meet. Wonder if we could arrange a group or block rate at a specific hotel?

Karen, do you mean that you went to Cove Cafe and took the free food they have sitting in the case for their paying customers and you didn't purchase a drink???

That's bad form ... if Plankton were here he would shake his fist at you.

I went to the coffee place onboard with Suz - we nicked all the chocolate eclairs :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Guess it will be in bad form then when I go for the nachos down in Diversions next cruise. :rolleyes1

Maybe :thumbsup2 I checked the Radisson's website and you can book up to 9 rooms online, so perhaps they can give a group rate for more than 10 rooms booked :confused3

Yup!

Childcare is currently our second-biggest monthly expense, after our mortgage.

Come September, I will be doing a happy :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

We decided we'd save the $$$ and plug more into his 529 for college instead! Of course, at the rate college tuition is going up also, we may still need loans

That would be worth looking into.

But I assume you'll be there watching a game so it's not the same ...

Maybe I read it wrong ... I thought she meant that she walked in, took food, and then walked back out.

I only mentioned it because Jay and I usually go there for breakfast and we were amazed by the number of people who would just wander in and take something and then wander back out. They didn't stop to use the computer or park themselves in a chair to watch the news or utilize the cafe in any other way then as a mobile drive-thru. :lmao:

It became something of a running joke with the CM James while we were there ... :goodvibes

I sent an email to the Radisson to see if they can offer us a group rate or something. Not sure what they can do for us but I will let you guys know what they say.
If that doesn't work then I will contact The Residence and the Country Inn too! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Hi guys It looks like I have alot of catching up to do her since the new thread started on Wed. afternoon.

Cass and Jeff ... it's too bad you're not in Missouri today. All kinds of wicked thunderstorms blowing through in waves starting with the fabulous drench-fest I had to drive through to get to work this morning. Saw some wicked lighning while I was driving. :scared1:

I haven't spent any time in there other than taking some pics and having a smoothie meet with some KKers so I don't know much about the place or what they offer. However, I have to admit that if they offered something that I couldn't get anywhere else on the ship, I would have no problem popping in there, grabbing it and then leaving. Because we have Kira now, neither of us would have a lot of time to spend in there since she's not allowed in with us, so yeah I would be one of those people the CM would be making fun of :rolleyes1 :lmao:

You're not as repressed as I am, Cass. :rotfl2:
