Ok, let's start a cruise-themed discussion here....

Does anyone think the Pirates in the Caribbean Party will be replaced with something else next drydock?

If so, what would you like to see?

What other big "themes" has Disney really had in the past couple years?

I don't think they will get rid of the fireworks, so the theme would have to involve those.

Maybe something to do with Princesses, but that would isolate the boys. I think you would still need Pirates for them.

Maybe go back to a Tropical type theme and deck party.

I don't think they'll do anything this fall regarding that.

Maybe they'll cycle a new show in this year, but Twiced Charmed is not that old. They won't get rid of the Golden Mickey's, so the only one to replace would be Dreams, and I can't see that happening.

Here's the thing...if the shows are all the same in 2009 I don't think I'd mind-I'd be free to do other things during that time

I could see a tropical theme too...I'm just wondering how old the Pirate party is?

I think it started right before our first cruise, and that was in Jan '05.

We have NOT seen the shows other than the first cruise. I always say I'd like to take DS back to them (he was young at that time and would appreciate them more now), but he just wants the club. Suz doesn't want to go to them, so I'd be the weird guy sitting in the back row of the theatre all alone. Wait, that was me one Xmas when my family ditched me. Note to self, pack overcoat for cruise. :rotfl:

We took DS to the matinee of Twice Charmed, and the bad guy scared him, so he wouldn't go to any more shows. I would like him to see Dreams, so hopefully he'll go next time. I liked the matinee option, actually. You can come to the matinee with us, Jeff!

As you know, DS only wanted the clubs too....that and the Mickey pool!

Ok, I know as soon as I log off, 3 people will come out and start chatting, so I'm going to log off now....;) :lmao:

I was over at the food porn palace talking scotch with my boozie friends. :thumbsup2

And updating my blog with the last of our Vegas reservations!!

I think the theme of our trip next month is going to be: FEED ME!!! :lmao:

We never go to the shows on the cruise, but just once I would like to see the fireworks during the Pirate deck party. Then we can happily return to our gluttonous pursuits. :rotfl2:

And where is my AFEG??? :confused3

The Pirate Night Party started a week or two before our August 2004 cruise. We were one of the first cruises that had the Pirate Night.

The Pirate Night was so new, that we didn't even have time to plan for it. We had packed our tropical shirts for the "old" Tropical Night that we had in August 2003. We didn't know what to expect for the Pirate Night in 2004..........:confused3

I know we have our Navigator's from the 2004 cruise, I should see if I can find them and see what the Navigator said about Pirate Night, I know back then we didn't have the fireworks.

I'd have to look back at ours from January 2005, but I swore we had the fireworks on that cruise.

That is one thing I don't think they'd get away from. The question would be how do you incorporate them into a new show.

Found our August 2004 Navigators. We had Pirate IN the Caribbean Party on Tuesday night August 24th. Suggested Evening Attire was: Caribbean Style. We didn't even have the pirate menus back then either.

Hey, I also found the Mickey head I drew during the Ducky Williams drawing class. I would scan my drawing in and show you, but Hazel already turned the desktop computer off for the night. Guess I'll have to do that in the morning.

They may have started the fireworks by January 2005. We also sailed in January 2005. Let me look at those Navigators and see if it says anything about fireworks. I can't remember if we had them or not as Hazel wasn't feeling well and we didn't go to the Pirate's Night Party.

We were on the special 4 day sailing of the Magic from 1/4/05-1/8/05. Our Pirate Party was on Thursday night 1/6/05 after we sailed away from Castaway Cay, but our Navigator does not say anything about fireworks being part of the party.

Surprisingly, I have never made it to the Pirate Party.

I have seen the fireworks once or twice, but never at the show.

Bingo, we did have fireworks in January 2005, I just went to my webshots account and saw I took a few pics of the fireworks, here are the fireworks pics from that cruise.
