I'm sure that Megan and Sarah would love to join in too. They love being "independent" on the ship.

I can hear them now...
"Yeah Dad, we'll be out for a while. Might stop by the soft ice cream bar, maybe take in a movie. Don't wait up..."

Last cruise, Beth and I came back to the cabin and found the "remnants" of a snack that the girls brought back to the cabin with one of their friends. They were actually very responsible and let us know where there were going and when to expect them back.

This is good to hear, Matthew. My kids are very excited about the idea of independence on the ship & meeting new friends. I'm sure Rhee will want in on the Hannah Montana movie.

I read somewhere in a thread someone got their kids familiar with the ship by letting THEM lead the parents around for the first day, so they knew where to go, etc. I thought this was a great idea.

I just thought of something that may have been discussed already. Are people planning to wear nametags or something with their DISboard handle on it when they get to the Port? I will recognize many of you based on pictures posted and such, (and of course the people that we have actually met), but there are also a number of people that I won't recognize. Anybody talk about this yet?

My family will be wearing white T-shirts with the BOB logo on the front, names underneath the logo. Mine will also have "KSFrogge" above my logo.

Sounds great Angela. The kids will pick up the layout of the ship pretty quick. We sign them into the kids clubs and get the pager. We have become comfortable with letting the girls sign themselves out. When they do, we get a page saying where they are going and when to expect them back or where to meet. They abide by those rules to keep their freedom. As long as they travel in packs, they should be safe. I don't allow them to wander by themselves however.

Well this will be my last pre-cruise post on the BOB thread. We are leaving in a little while for Portland and our park & fly. Will be in Orlando tomorrow morning. See you all at the terminal if not before! Safe travels to everyone. It's been fun getting to know you all ahead of time.

I am sorry - we are doing an exchange, but the cutoff date to sign up has already passed. We had to allow enough time for people to get things prepared.

I just called the schools and told them the kids will be out tomorrow, too. I checked with my oldest first, since he'll have the most to do, and he went ahead and picked up the stuff he'll need.

I figure it's only one more day.. and this way they can get the house ready for departure while they're home tomorrow.

Everyone busy packing???? I will be taking my dog to the dog sitter shortly. I just signed and filled in the info page on our passports. Although, should I have my kids sign their passports or should I sign them? Maybe I will ask on the main cruise thread as well.

I have no idea if you should sign the passports....

I looked on the passport website, and it doesn't really say at what age children can sign....only what to do if your child is too young to sign.

Thomas was 4 when I got his passport...it would have looked just a bit funny if I let him sign it.
