10/24/2009 Bash on the Boat (I'm with B.O.B.) - Thread #29

My vacation starts Thursday. My last day of work then is Wednesday. I will be DISing until I get on the plane most likely, and that won't be on Friday.

we need to finish this thread up before everyone leaves.
that way we can start a fresh thread and start posting piccies right away when we return.

Just had the evening from hell.

I heard a loud bang and yelp from the lounge. Run downstairs to find Ellis coming out of the lounge holding his head

Part of the ceiling light fitting has just exploded sending shards of glass everywhere and it had cut the power off to all the lights so now we're in total darkness.

Ellis' head isnt cut luckily but bits did land on him and it shook him up.

I got the lights back on by torchlight in the garage, but cant use the lounge light so we sat there in semi darkness with just the one little lamp on. I picked up what glass I could see, only to find a blob of something stuck and melted onto the cream carpet - looks like glass or metal or something

I go to turn the gas fire on and that just turns itself off after about 30 seconds and now wont come back on - what the heck is going on????

Neils miles away working and not due home til gone midnight.

I'm going to bed before something else breaks.

Geez, I need this cruise

Teresa is going to the salon tonight to have them look at her hair. Since I got fired, she wanted to try to color her hair at home, since the old color was fading, and her roots were showing. BAD IDEA! She normally is a medium brown, and she used a medium mahogany to try to go a little darker. It came out JET BLACK! She freaked out, spent about 2 hours in the shower, washing it with shampoo & dish detergent trying to strip it. Didn't work, so she's gonna have to go to the salon & pay them anyways. And no, I didn't dare take pictures; we were all scared for our lives (literally).

OM Goodness hope the salon can help her----I would be horrified toooo

OMG! I'm glad that Ellis wasn't hurt. It will be interesting to find out what happened to cause that. That sounds WAY beyond a blown lightbulb, especially with melted stuff on the carpet. You're lucky that a fire didn't result.
