robin and i thank eveyone for the hugs yesterday.
her mom ALWAYS knows who robin is. but yesterday it took her a little while to recognize her.
then later we were talking about Cassie and her mom said "who's Cassie related too?"
it was just a reality check that the alzhiemers is getting a little worse. shes been doing pretty good for a little while now.

You know, I know this is little consolation, but with my gram I was at least glad that as I knew her memory was going I was also assured that she had no idea that she was in a nursing home and had aides taking care of her and that things were not going well for her.
She was pleasantly clueless.

I was glad for her when she passed.
Sure I missed her and still do but I know that she would never have wanted to be where she was.

Her roomate sadly had her whole mind to her and knew exactly what was going on. I think that is more sad.

I know this might sound crazy to you perhaps but that I think is the bright side of it all.

I second this. We went through it with my grandma (Mom's mom) and we were thankful that she wasn't aware of what was going on around her. She wasn't in a nursing home, but some of the family were not acting right.. My aunt is now in a nursing home and has no idea who anyone is. It is so hard for my mom to watch her oldest sister, and thinking that she will end up with Alzheimer's herself probably...

and it runs in robins family big time. her dad and uncle passed from it laast year. her aunt the year before. a few other relatives have had it too.

I went in today and expected him to release me to come back in a year, but the MRI was not clear enough and it seems there is a 6mm X 6mm spot in the area of my surgery, so I will have another MRI in Jan/Feb to make sure that it is scar tissue (if it grows it is a recurrence if not it is scar tissue). And this time I will have the MRI done where he suggests. Last time I went to the Army hospital, and apparently they don't have the same software/system that my doc has. I'm not worried.

Meningioma is what I had as well. Ididn't know it was there until I had a seizure one Saturday morning while relaxing and having coffee in bed--right after a little DISing. My doc said it could have been there up to 20 years. anyway, I went in today and expected him to release me to come back in a year, but the MRI was not clear enough and it seems there is a 6mm X 6mm spot in the area of my surgery, so I will have another MRI in Jan/Feb to make sure that it is scar tissue (if it grows it is a recurrence if not it is scar tissue). And this time I will have the MRI done where he suggests. Last time I went to the Army hospital, and apparently they don't have the same software/system that my doc has. I'm not worried.

Umm, this is one from the 80's so I'll bet he's quite a bit older now.


How about Perry Como? He was awesome.
He's a bit older...... older and dead.
Took my gram to his last concert in Syracuse, I'm sure he stopped performing not too much longer afterward.
She noticed that day that she and he were the same age.
He pronounced his 80th. And she was also. Both born in 1912.
