Sounds like that Alaskan cruise is too pricey.

As I said before, Bob really wants to do it, but other lines are cheaper and we'd like to find one that might combine a few days on land with the cruise.

Airfare to where they fly out of in Canada is pricey on top of the cruise also.

Rose,
You are right the other cruise lines are much cheaper to Alaska. But you really need to ask yourself what you are getting with the Disney Cruise.

I just bought my Mom a cruise to Alaska. She said that she was CONSTANTLY bothered to spend money. They had people running by her dinner table trying to sell roses, Incessant waitstaff hawking drinks, Free roomservice? Fugedaboutit, Let's talk stocked refrigerator with overpriced foods and drinks. Speciatly restaurants, yes, but one of them had the EXACT same menu as the cost included restaurant.
Boiled down, she said that she had to work constantly to stay at budget as things that they wanted cost money (not just the cost but the overpricing of objects)

I'm hoping nothing has changed with Disney but my experience was that if I wanted to spend money there was plenty to do so. But in no way would my vacation been diminished if I decided to not spend anything. There was no pressure to spend on the Magic.

Now, not being bothered on my vacation is HUGE in my book. And worth a great deal of money, but besides that I'll bet that after spending what a Disney cruise would have cost you in the other guys and all the extras that you have to buy, you'd come up close to even.

Just my $0.02

My parents took a NCL cruise out of Houston in between their two DCL cruises. My dad thought he got a great deal on the NCL cruise, but when it was all said and done he said he paid about the same as his DCL cruise. When they were docking in Cozumel on the NCL ship, the Magic pulled up alongside and they were having serious separation anxiety. They were comparing their tiny 108 sq ft room with the virtual mini suite that is standard on DCL. They were thinking of the whole DCL experience vs. the NCL one. They did enjoy their NCL cruise, but they felt that DCL was a much better product.

You should have seen the tiny twin beds they had on NCL! The ship they sailed is no longer in the fleet, but wow, in a word tiny!!!

Hello everyone!

Can you believe how fast time is flying the closer we get to our cruise!:cool1:

I will need to get caught up on the thread. I going to get a sassy new do today. Wish me luck

How'd your new 'do' end up?

Karen, As far as I know the BOB Lunch is still on. When I get onboard, I'm going to make sure I don't schedule my Brunch at Palos to conflict.

I'll come to lunch! We've got Palo reserved Thursday night for our 20th anniversary! I wish I could sit behind all of you and lurk like I have on the boards! You funny people make me laugh!

Hurry up and get it. June and I are on the same bus back:thumbsup2

The Lee's will be joining you, too!

:hug:Here are some 'happy thoughts' coming your way. :wizard:

I'm another B.O.B.'er under the weather. One of my 48 darlings must have shared their 'gifts' with me! Good thing I only have 2 more days with them until November! Woo Hoo!

Good night!

actually, I was doing a bit of wiring in laura's car. I got her Stereo installed at Fry's but then I had to install the DVD players. There was wires haning all over, what a mess. So I used cable wraps to tidy them up. Since the PT cruisier only has one cigarette lighter plug, I had to install a 3 way expansion plug, and even that left wires hanging about. I had to hide them under the center console.

I started on my Christmas light programming, I'm trying to learn something new and it's slow going. But I think that I've grasped it.

As far as the kids goes. They don't like when I'm in charge because that means that I'm constantly after them to pick up anything they're not playing with. But they like me when I'm cooking. We had Egyptian Mummy Hotdogs tonight. They had a blast with them.

Yep, nursing homes infuriate me. I understand that there's practically no funding for them and they do what they can with what the government gives them. But the conditions can be atrocious. We see people sent to the ER for minor things that make you wonder why, then we get others that look like they've been doing poorly for days and you wonder why they didn't sent the patient sooner. I could grumble all day.

And then after we can say, "less than a month". I was telling someone about our crusie just today and they asked when we were going. Elaine beat me to it and said, "in a month"

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:you go Elaine.

I think that we ate there in Grand Cayman. I didn't like that one, but it may have been sticker shock. I spent well over $50 for a kids meal that the kids shared, a hamburger and a salad with sodas for the 4 of us. :scared1:

Grand Cayman is quite expensive. I hope we don't end up there is we get diverted.:sad2:

She looks great in her tiara and is more than welcome to join in. There have been other DIS cruises in the past where the Ladies wear Tiaras on 2nd formal night. As there is a mixture of early and late diners, we agreed to meet at Lumiere's for lunch and wear our tiaras then. We followed on with the tradition of Tiara Tarting and called ourselves BOB's Tiara Tarts. We're gonna have our picture taken after lunch.

They are starting to annoy me with asking you if you want drinks, if you're by the pool.
