Hey Karen,

Do you ever cook with quinoa (I am sure I spelled that wrong). Do you watch What Not to Eat? I am addicted to that show. Anyway, Jillian pushes this grain on a lot of people. I made quinoa stuffed red bell peppers with spinach and parmesan cheese and it was delicious.

The weight watchers books have some good recipes too.

I am stuck at an 8 pound loss since last month. So frustrating!

Never tried Quinoa - that stuffed pepper recipe sounds lovely!:thumbsup2

I'll have to look out for it in the supermarkets:thumbsup2 - would you use it to replace eg rice/ cous cous?

Good Morning Dan and Nan. Can't wait to see you guys soon!!!!!

HI Guys Nancy and I just got back from LL Bean doing some shopping. Nancy looking for Jeans. We also were looking for a small backpack we could use as a personal carryon besides the other one we are allowed.
We found what we wanted in the LL Bean Outlet store was reg $42.00 we got it for $17.00.
Can't wait to see you two again.

Dan

:hug::hug:

Hope things go well...

BTW - I have had thyroid problems since 13, and been fighting my weight since that age. Right now I'm losing the fight...:headache: but I'm still trying to be optimistic. ;)

I am right there with you. I have been on thyroid medicine for years. It is very hard to loose weight. It has taken me 6 weeks of WW and exercising to loose 5 pounds. Only 40 more to go.:banana:

I know it works when I do it properly. I'm trying for a really good week this week too. If I lose 2lb for the next 2 weeks I'll actually be at my 1st goal and will have lost my 5%:yay: I need your support still though Miss Conscience:hug:

:worship: You rock!!!

I'm going to get a LL Bean back pack too for my carryon. I am thinking I am going to have my mom pick one up for me. She always goes up to Freeport.

Yes York is where they make Harley bikes. We went there this summer. Walt and I are lifetime members of Weight Watchers. Neither one of us are at goal now but I still go to the meetings every Thursday. I like it. The meetings give good idea and we have great friendship.

They have their meetings at our local firehouse here and I've been hemming and hawing - but it sounds like many of you guys are happy with it. My dr. actually recommended it, he doesn't normally recommend fad diets, but he's a believer in WW.

I can honestly say if you do it properly and stick to the rules of the points then yes, it works great. I did it a few years ago and stayed at goal for 18 months. Its simple to follow - just use your allocated points and no more - add in a little exercise (I just walk because of my bad back) and you soon see the pounds drop off. My only problem is we eat out a lot.:rolleyes1... I dont choose wisely when we're out. :rolleyes1, hence my weighloss is slow, but I'm getting there slooooooowly:rolleyes1 Give it a go:thumbsup2

Glad to hear positive notes on them, I've tried many diets, but a lot of people are saying positive things about WW. A friend of mine just came back from her girls only vacation and she said she was able to eat & enjoy a couple of drinks bc of WW. Thanks for all the info & sharing the recipes, - I'm going to look into it more now.

Good luck to Ellis, btw! :wizard: :wizard:

Did everyone realise -

ITS ONLY 12 WEEKS TO CHRISTMAS:scared1:

:scared1: Every year, I say I'm going to start Christmas shopping early so I won't get stressed out as we get closer to the day. It never happens. I'm shopping up until Christmas EVE. VERY stressful. This year, again - I will say it - I'm going to start early (perhaps when we get home from the cruise) so I won't get stressed out and actually ENJOY Christmas. :rolleyes1

STILL no docs yet - my UPS driver delivers up until about 7ish in my area...I want my docs NOW...

Unfortunately, it's not me going to WDW in June...That would be the Lovely Lori!:thumbsup2

Short for chrysanthemum.:thumbsup2

Sorry Paige...got my names mixed up again.

As for the Mum's....I assume Di's been making Corsages.

Yes, prepare it as you would rice. I use vegetable stock instead of water.

In a pan saute a teaspoon of garlic in olive oil, cup of spinach or kale, 1/2 diced onion and a cup of diced tomatoes. Add the cooked quinoa to the pan for a couple of minutes.Then stuff about 1/2 to 2/3 cup mixture in the red or yellow peppers. You can use green peppers too- personally I think they are too strong though. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top. I think feta would be good too. Cook in oven 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and pepper are brown on top.:stir:

Yumm

Give it a go. One lady at my meeting has lost 41lb and 4 dress sizes in 16 weeks - she's amazing and a real inspiration for the slackers in the group (aka me!)

Heahter and Walt and Di off here are gold members - they're the real pro's at it:thumbsup2 We'll be supportive if you start - god only knows I cheat often enough but Heather always tries to keep me toeing the line:hug:

Why not start by just writing a list of every person you need to buy a gift for? Take it on the cruise with you - you might pick up unusual or unique gifts from the ports!

I'll be hanging out on Deck 10 too! :cool1::thumbsup2:cool2:

You're a big flirt too:snooty:.... ps - I'm telling Elaine of you!::yes:::p:rotfl:
