Karen and Heather - not sure if you like SciFi, but I've been thinking about you this week when watching the Torchwood Mini-Series airing here on BBC America..... (Spin off of Dr. Who - my all time favorite show - the new series...)

:cool1:

Rick loves Sci Fi, but he has issues with Torchwood (if you know what I mean!). He thinks certain things in it spoils a good series. What mini-series is it? Children of the Earth?

Well - I made it in to work this morning and I'm feeling a bit better. I guess even though I got the sleeper car on the train, my body still didn't get enough sleep.... That's ok - as long as I'm not sick in 3 months from today (CAN NOT WAIT!!!!!!!)

Had lunch with my hubby - he works in the building right next door to me... it's been nice since I started working here in January for that option. He puts up with me talking about the cruise! I told him we needed to pick the excursions soon and I think I'm going to have to just make the reservations!

What do you both do Angie, that you can work so close to one another?

We both are accountants - well - he is an auditor. We both work in downtown Richmond, VA and if I look out my cubicle window, I can see his building on the next block over. It's really nice. Unfortunately, we work slightly different schedules so we can't drive in together, but it's ok - don't want to get SICK of each other - LOL!:rotfl2: (15 years... he better NOT get sick of me!!)

I BET I can guess what his issues with Torchwood are (probably some of the same ones I have...) It is the Children of Earth Mini-series. I had only ever seen one episode of Torchwood before seeing the mini-series (like I said - HUGE Dr. Who freak - love me some David Tennant - very sad there will be a new doctor...) Torchwood is interesting. I love the witty banter and it gives me the Dr. Who fix until the next season comes out. We quite enjoy a lot of British TV - his favorite sitcom is Coupling... think he has all the episodes memorized!!LOL I like it too - cracks me up!:rotfl:

Ah ha....now I understand. Rick and I work fairly close together, but we don't lunch. We do end up travelling to and from work every day. It made a nice change not to go to work with him today.

Rick enjoyed Children of The Earth, but I thought it was a bit sad (I won't say any more otherwise I'll spoil it). He said that you need to try and see the new Sara-Jane Chronicles as David Tennant's Dr Who is the supporting role in two of the episodes.

I think we are going to do the Doubloon Sail and Snorkel as well - looks really fun! DH doesn't want to do the Beach bash in case we see some of the "European style" beach goers - I don't think he or my girls would be able to not gawk/giggle/stare.... may rethink it....

I've decided I'm not going to worry about the beach goers in various states of dress/undress....it's not anything I can control, but I also don't want it to ruin my fun! You can sit by me and we can try not to stare together!

DH actually picked out the Doubloon Sail and Snorkel - I think he liked the idea of the schooner - kinda like a pirate ship!

What's everyone up to today?

I'm trying to concentrate on work, but really playing on the DIS and going online to look at dresses. My formal night dress from last time no longer fits :sad2: :sad1:  so I have to find something to wear.

I can see various members of the BOB with very dark glasses that day Jen:cool2::cool2::cool2:

Don't spoil it for me - only up to Day 3.... I get the feeling that Torchwood is not as "feel good" as Dr. Who. I do want to go back and watch the series after this mini-series, even though I know what happens to certain Torchwood team members....

Is there a new season of Sara-Jane? I saw most of the first season and liked it quite a bit... didn't get see it all as my DVR died with the remaining episodes on it! But anything with David Tennant - I'm there!!!

We've never been to Europe and I can't wait to go to GB and see all the wonderful stuff.... maybe once the kids are a bit older - Abby loves to travel...

I hope you are enjoying your day off..... even though the weather is spotty.

Hi Heather
Just replied to your pm.
That looks really good, would love to do that.
Always looking for something different to do than just the parks.
Wonder if you can book in advance - do you think it will be busy in October?

Got it thanks.:thumbsup2

I don't know Cath. It opens up at 10.30am, but if it's windy there are some conditions when it won't launch. Don't think you can book in advance becuase of these conditions.

Yes, think so.

I'm not terribly worried about the nudity - just the reaction of my kids. Well - the little one wouldn't notice since she lives in her own little world, but I think the my older dd (11) will snicker and giggle and just be amused. Don't want to offend anyone - :lmao:

I showed my DH the Doubloon sail and Snorkel - that's the reason I picked it - because of the pirate theme! ARGHGHGHG!pirate:

Back now...d*mn internet service keeps falling out.

I'm trying to concentrate on work, but really playing on the DIS and going online to look at dresses. My formal night dress from last time no longer fits :sad2: :sad1:  so I have to find something to wear.

Found anything good?

We did the Golden eagle in 04. There was an entire nude family on the beach after all the teen age boys put their eyes back in their heads no one seemed to care or notice. Too busy snorkling and jumpingoff the boat.

Ooh - yeah Jen - found anything good yet? I think I am going to wait until the end of September to get something. We are hopping on the WW band wagon on Monday and I don't want to buy something yet.

I am looking for the dress I see the lovely Becky in with that picture of Heather. Looked on Ebay, but they don't have my size yet....Ill keep looking. In the meantime, I need to get started on my FE AND the presents!!
