ADR made for 10/22 at Le Cellier. Di and I love the cheese soup and bread selection

Yes, rice cooker. But don't use it, prefer the old method..One cup of rice and 2 cups of water in small pan. Bring to boil, then reduce heat to simmering.

We love the steak at LeCellier, and the cheese soup was yummy, too!

I have never cooked rice the old way. I was given a rice cooker when we got married, and I don't think I'll ever go with out one. Currently I am using the one I bought in Okinawa--very good appliance.

Walt--try this in your rice cooker. It's the same as the cabbage rolls mom used to make, only a lot less trouble. (Did I post this already? I think I did, months ago--Sorry, I'm losing my mind little by little everyday.)


Edia’s Cabbage Casserole

1 small cabbage
1 pound ground beef
½ can ro-tel
4 oz. Tomato sauce
½ cup onions
1 teaspoon garlic
parsley (according to your taste)
bell pepper(according to your taste)
½ cup uncooked rice


Mix raw ingredients well in a bowl. Pour into rice cooker and turn it on. Wait 10 minutes after the rice cooker’s bell rings to serve. This recipe could be doubled if you cook in a large rice cooker.

You could probably used ground turkey to make it low fat.

Hi Karen. Sorry your weather is lousy. Come on over to my house. I just put some coffee on. It's been awesome weather here. Not too hot, but hot enough for swimming. Last night we had a pretty big thunderstorm, Cass and Nancy would have loved it! I was happy it was at night; and my plants don't need watering today.

Hi Cath! Yes, I am here! We had a very nice lunch, but it was too short. We probably could have stayed in the restaurant for quite a bit more time. Three months from today, we'll be getting ready to take off!

We won't be at the Radisson either, Cath. We are staying at the port, but at LaQuinta (it's free-we have points with them). But if we are there early enough, we will track down the group.

We're fine here. The kids are actually quite ready for school to start--aug 19. Yes, they give us a hard time about not going with us, and I will feel guilty, but it's a challenge to pull them out of school and Rob and I have never been on a trip without them...

Yep, we've booked our excursions, but I think I'll be on here tomorrow night for all the excitement and to see what everyone has booked.

I am doing a little cleaning today too. Mostly laundry, though.
