10/24/2009 Bash on the Boat (I'm with B.O.B.) Thread #21!

I would've loved to visit the capital but it wasn't possible for Chuck to take off then. His boss is gone then so he has to stay.

I have a friend who lives in a condo in Daytona Beach Shores. She and her DH will be visiting with their son in Wisconsin and the condo will be empty for a bit. If Chuck can snag a week in summer (he's low man on the food chain at work) then we'll spend a week in a free condo! Chuck and I took his brother Mike and SIL Linda there in the spring before our 05 cruise. We had a blast. I'm not so sure about the weather though. Hot and humid wreak havoc on my tummy. The condo is literally right ON the beach!!

Nancy that looks wonderful! I hope Chuck can get the time off and you can go!!! We spent a week at a condo in Daytona Beach in June a few years ago and it was hot and humid "in land" but when we stayed near the beach those sea breezes made it very pleasant so hopefully if you stick to keeping near the ocean your tummy will be fine.

Hmm, well not sure what your budget is but I got an email the other day from NYNY and I just checked your date and it's only $89, which is pretty good for a Friday night!

Thanks Cass I got an email with that promo too and was all set to book it yesterday when I noticed it was a non-refundable deposit so we decided against booking with that for now. My brother thinks with as "dead" as Vegas has been we will get even better offers for possibly an even nicer place to stay. That offer is good until the 16th though so I have until then to change my mind and book it.

So far the best "deal" we have gotten is for the MGM Grand so we are booked there but I keep getting emails and am watching all the different websites. We are flying into Vegas and staying at the MGM for 3 nights and then we are driving to UT to see Bryce and Zion and up to Park City and then driving back down and flying home out of Vegas so we still need a reservation for a place in Vegas for that last night. Yesterday I got an email for a good rate at the Luxor and I think I'm going to book that just in case nothing better comes along. Rachel loves NY city so she really wanted to stay at the NY NY but I haven't gooten any emails that work out to a good price for that last night.

Yes, my daughter Erika is going to Vegas the last week in April. Her best rates on hotels was MGM Grand also. Di

Well folks we got Sean's results for his Sgt's test today. He placed 18th out of 36. He thinks he will be promote within the next year or so. I am very very proud of him.

Sorry I know, it was the end of a long day and I just wanted to say a quick good night before heading off to bed. Didn't matter much I guess because I had one of those nights that I tossed and turned all night long. Then I woke up at 5am thinking it was Monday morning, didn't know it was Sunday until I went to cross off yesterday on the calendar in the kitchen. Going to church last night messed me up........

Karen - Sean got 4th in the Grand National, mine fell at the second fence and Olivia wont even watch the race as she thinks its cruel.

Cass - lovely pics of Kira, welcome back. Sean thought your remarks on the UK bober's was. So vain.

Cheryl - Rachel is coming over here next Friday, wow that is great. We hope Olivia and Alex can do that when they are a bit older. Is Rachel nearly 15?

A lovely sunny day here so going to get in the garden while it lasts. Tomorrow and tuesday it is going to rain. School holidays= rain.
