You will LOVE T-Rex. We went over Thanksgiving for the first (and only) time. It is now on our permanent must do list when we go to WDW. The interior of the building is amazing and the food was great too.

Matthew

Well another good thing to know is that I thought the portion size was very generous for the price paid. In fact, I recall getting to go boxes to take back to the room. Beth and I could easily have shared the Chicken Fried Steak that I ordered and neither one of us would have been hungry at the end.

Matthew

Extra quick note on T-Rex....the Filet is NOT good...but the Ribs--phenomenal! Our boys ordered the ribs and the meat literally fell off the bone! I was fortunate enough to have the boys allow me a taste and I was really sad that I hadn't ordered them! i would recommend substituting the garlic mashed potatoes for a different kind...none of us liked them. But between the ribs and the experience...WOW! Have fun when you go!:thumbsup2

That's good to know. We actully had an "issue" when it came to this restaurant not being on the DDP. When I realized that it didn't participate in the plan, I thought we'd go ahead and skip it. (My boys are big eaters, so the DDP is the way to go for us.) So with a little research, we discussed with our kids the fact that if we pay out of pocket, we must all agree beforehand that we will all order something reasonable off the menu (happens to be hamburgers). I was shocked that they were perfectly fine with that and one of the kids (I think it was Emily) even offered to get water to drink, which I said was unneccessary, but I liked that she would even think of that.
Bottom line is that they are 16, 13, and 9, so we want to go there while they are going to get the most out of it, especialy, Alex, the 9 yr old.

We are thinking about trying to fit T-Rex in either before or after the cruise!

Paige are they taking ADRs for T-Rex now? They weren't in Dec. and every time we tried to get in then the wait was well over an hour. We did look in the store and could see a little of the restaurant from there and it looked quite impressive :cool1: I think I recently read somewhere that they now give a DVC discount so that would help decrease your bill!

Sorry Folks.......the bottom finally dropped from underneath me and I also feel like I got kicked in the gut this morning at work. :headache: With the "reduction" of "additional salary" starting in April  there is no way that Hazel and I will be able to cruise anytime soon. :sad2:

I wish I could express how sick to my stomach I am feeling right now. If I had been turning 55 next month, instead of April 2010, I would have been filling out my retirement papers before the end of the day.

Sorry to hear that Andy :grouphug:

I'm finally getting tired again. Rachel has influenza B so I had to get up and give her some more Advil for her fever and some more cough medicine. When the Advil wears off her fever gets up to 102 :scared1: so I have been trying to get it in her as often as I can. The doctor said she needs to stay home from school the rest of the week, Al stayed home with her yesterday and I'll be home with her today, at least I can do some work from home. I'll try and check in later.

Cheryl--so sorry to hear about Rachel having the flu. It's going around our area as well. We have a few people at work that are out with it as well.

I hope Rachel starts feeling better real soon, here are some :flower3::flower3::flower3: for Rachel.

Sorry to hear that Andy :grouphug:

Thanks Cheryl.......:goodvibes

I guess now with my impending knee surgery, we probably couldn't have made the cruise anyhow. I just got my sick bank at work built back up from my last knee operation back in August 2005. Even with that, depending on my recovery period, I still might have to use some of my remaining vacation time for this year for post op.

I could use a couple new parts myself Andy. ;)

Don't tamper with "Mild and Bitter".....:rolleyes1.....Pm your response as points make green lights

Tell her to leave the bugs at home ....And turn off the dammed WII.....:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

Good Morning Andy. I see your up early as usual.
Even after being retired almost 4 years I still wake up around 5:30 or 6:00.
Everybody have a great day

Joanne is the one who agreed to book at group Palo brunch, not me.

I said I would organize a post-cruise Boma breakfast.

Neither of those things has changed.

Yes, they are taking reservations, but you don't call wdw-dine. You call the restaurant directly. I think I found the number on the website. Thanks for the tip about DVC discount.:thumbsup2

Edited: The phone number is 407-828-TREX (8739).

Amen to that Sistah K!!!

If it wasn't for humor and laughter right now, I'd be taking a long walk off a short pier......:laughing::laughing:

I am with you, you would not believe how the guys in Texas just go on like nothing has changed. It is amazing, they get 8 hours from me now and nothing more.

No that was me, I emailed DCL the other day. They told me to request the private room 30 days out. It fits a max of 14. So there are three sea days. So we could have three groups of 14. As we get closer I will have every one who wants to go let me know and I will make the spread sheet. It's just names and room numbers.

I am so sorry. Don't cancel just yet. You never know what may happen in the next month or two.

I was going to say the same thing until I read on about the knee surgery. I was looking forward to meeting you guys & maybe someday will.

I totally agree with you Jeff, but when you lose $5K of salary in one year, it's a real kick in the pants. :sad2: I know things could be worse, but none of us were expecting this a few weeks ago.

The reason I rebooked the cruise back in January was because our raise had taken effect on 1/1/09, little did I know then that we would be losing it, plus some.

We loaned our 2008 and 2009 points to friends of ours since we hadn't planned on using them.

I've got to get a move on it, I have an appointment with my orthopedic surgeon at 5:30 for the yearly check-up on my knees.

:wave2:

Don't suppose the people you "loaned" them too could pay you back?!

It was great but yeah I didn't realise he was so unhappy aswell.. but as much as he hates being on it if he looked back and realized how it helped them to not go bankrupt he would change his tune.. having that many kids is pretty scary but Kate is amazing at organizing.. even if she comes across alittle harsh sometimes.. with that many kids you would need to be a bit firm. Did you watch the one with 12 kids?.. that one dosen't flow well for me...

I agree - I think that was just a tease to make sure we watch when the next season starts. And you're right - with that big a family & all the extra people for filming one has to be organized. And probably some of that hrshness is scripted for effect. I would like to strangle Maddie sometimes. I didn't watch the 12 kids because we watch CSi Miami.

Finally arrived home a short while ago from visiting my surgeon. The x-rays I had on Friday revealed that I am nearly bone on bone on the inner side of my right knee. The doctor did give me a cortisone shot and said I should consider having a partial knee replacement within the next few months. At least my right knee will catch up to my left knee with having four surgeries each, and each knee will have partial replacements. Oh the joy of aging.

My mother had the exact same thing & 2 replacements.

Since there is no BL tonight, I'm heading over to pick up some more paint for the kitchen. Chuck has been a painting maniac lately.:thumbsup2

Later peoples.

I saw BL. Would you like to know how it came out?

Ok, time for a little speculation. While vacumming a few minutes ago, I had an idea.

Does anyone think that DCL will have an innaugural Trans Atlantic Sailing prior to scheduled service from Port Canaveral to the Caribbean?

I am thinking the demand would we sky high, and they now have a following that they didn't have when they launched in 1998 or even when the Wonder first sailed in 1999.

It was just a thought...

I personally don't think they will, but it would be a cool idea to think about. I would try desperately to make it work with airfare to Europe.

Why fly to Europe? Just book a roundtrip! :rotfl::rotfl2:

28 DAYS on the new Disney ship!:banana:

Prerequisites: Win the lottery, be unemployed (or retired), not have commitments that you can't walk away from for a month...

It would be a neat idea. But I understand that DCL had to commit to making Port Canaveral the home port for the new ship for an initial period of time as part of the port expansion project. I doubt that DCL would just sail the ship to Europe and quickly return since the crossings typically have low rates. It wouldn't be a very good money maker even if the ship was full. (At least compared to its alternate use during that 28 days, namely four 7 night cruises.)
