Since Nancy G ran out of Questions of the Day, I will get my creative juices flowing and take over. If MG doesn't mind...

What is your first memory of Walt Disney World or Disneyland????

I was 2 and a half my first time going and all I can remember is sitting in a stroller (one of those old blue ones) in Fantasyland and being kissed on the nose by Winnie the Pooh. I also had one of those cool Donald hats that squeaked when you squeezed the beak.

Oh, to be young again.

My first trip was in 72....yes I am old . It was in 8th grade. We stayed in Kissimmee, only the Contempory & Polynesian were there. My dad worked two jobs to take us to Florida every summer. It was just the Magic Kingdom and it was the day of tickets..... It was great kids from the bronx loose in the Magic Kingdom. We ould go to the contempory in the afternoon to get out of the sun and let my nephews rest. WE drove from NY, my Dad would not fly.

I was just on expedia doing my regular flight search. The fares on Delta from Hartford have come down a little bit. They are now down to $290 or so, but I noticed the $200 fares from Boston have crept up to $235. I just checked flights from Providence ($235 or so), but only Southwest flies direct to Orlando from there. If I can avoid a connection, I would like that.

HI Chris

Just went on Delta Site. You can go out of Logan on a 6:00AM flight 1435
arrive in Orlando about 9:45 AM. Its the same flight Nancy and I took last year. The price is $188.00 per person. No layovers strieght through.
If we hadn't found the Jet Blue flights out of Portland we would have taken that one again.

I have been following that. That is one of my fall back plans. I will check it out now on delta.com.

Thanks Dan.

Anyone on here use the Spirit Airlines $9 club?

Amanda and I use it. The problem for us, it that the fares usually don't apply to Detroit. We have gotten really good fares from them though. Last fall we paid $29 per person each way to MCO. I know that with fares and bag fees it was just over $200 for both of us.

Annette, that's cool - so even with the club membership price, it was a deal. Do both of you belong or can one member get the extra special fare for both? I get the Spirit e-mails, and they have some great sales, but with having to pay for the $9 red light stuff, I didn't know if it would still be a deal. Do they fly internationally???

Sorry I missed you.:flower3:

If he's home early, I'd make the most of it.....:rolleyes1 ;)

find him the vacuum and show him how it works, or the iron;) :rotfl2:

:lmao: Too funny. He pops in a lot, usually with a bunch of guys looking for a tool in the garage or for a snack. We just moved closer to his office and it takes him less than a minute to get there.

Only one person in the group has to be a $9 member. The fee is for a year. So it really works out well for us. They fly to S America but not to Europe.

These airfares are driving me nuts! Not just the prices and the extreme fluctuation, but the times stink!

As of now this is our best option...

Total price for this trip: $941.60
Average price per passenger: $235.40

Could you fly out of Boston? Not sure how close you are to that airport but you could get a direct to MCO from there and it maybe less expensive.

Its the same price but twice the distance, and twice the parking charges. I am thinking we will most likely go with that one.

I have a Pancake Sisters question. Are you going to arrange a "gathering" at a Palo brunch or is there too many people to try and coordinate everyone being there at the same time? And if it is at the Palo brunch ... do you all bring your husbands, brothers, significant others? I'm not sure that Ron would let me go to Palo's without him ... but I'm not sure he wants to be seen with me there with a pancake on my head either :rotfl2: Maybe I could arrange for him to go to the bathroom or a message be sent to him that he needs to check out one of the kids in the club or something??? :rotfl:

Well Dianne, perhaps i can help you.
For reasons unbeknownst to me, I was stripped of my pancake sister membership.???
You are more than welcome to join my Waffle Wenches Club, and your hubby is invited too. (You did say he has a scar, right?)
We meet on deck 10.
Some of our members include, The one they call Goose , Cass and her pj pal Bernie, Suz (its the quiet ones you have to watch),Lori (we redheads have to stick together).
If you need an application, let me know.

Well, we have our airfare booked! I decided to travel with my parents out of Portland, Maine. We have direct flights, great times, and the price came to about $220 per person. We won't have to pay to park since my parents live so close to the jetport in Portland. For some reason they call the airport there, jetport. It must have been a sixties thing.

We are flying JetBlue down and AirTran back. I am excited since I have always wanted to fly JetBlue and it just never worked out for us.

Now to look at rental cars!

Today has been a rather productive day. I went to work while Scott dropped of Mackenzie to Grandma and Grandpa along with the items we picked up at Costco for them. He returned home to get Kelsey and friend up so he could take the friend home and Kelsey to the dentist. Would you believe Kelsey stabed herself with the needle at the dentist office. I guess the dentist asked her if she was numb yet and she went to touch her face to find out and in process stabed her finger with the needle that was in the dentists hand. So she had a numb mouth and finger. Scott and I got about 15 minutes of alone time because I went from work to the dentist and he took me next door to Sonic for a drink. After that we all went to turn in Mackenzie cans at the recyle place. Went out to dinner, and now we are home waiting for my parents to drop of Mackenzie. Kelsey took off to a friends house to watch a movie.

You cougar you :worship: :lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Throw Suz into that club too. She's 3 1/2 years older than me. Based on how the b-days fell, she graduated 4 years ahead of me. So when she was a senior, I was only in 8th grade (we didn't meet until 7 years later though). I don't let her forget that.

The Board has been pretty quiet lately. What's everyone up to? Nice weather getting people outside?
