Hiya Kathy! Chris/Lori you still here too? Jeff, did you leave me?
Lori...Good night Cutie 1, Joanne, I'm jealous of your hour long walk. Do you work that close to the beach?

Yes, our office is on the bottom floor of a condo. The location is beautiful but 26 miles to work with tourist traffic is anoying.

Don't ya just love that word. It's so versatile. :rotfl2: I'll be over there tomorrow to read your latest update. :thumbsup2

It's my new favorite word!!! :yay: It really ticks off my co-workers :rotfl:

Sorry Joanne - didn't mean to step on your F.O.

hope it's nice out this week end, no h& R block for me!!

I'm still here. Just had to answer a PM and am looking at rental cars to port.

I'm thinking of using Magical Express and then just picking up from Avis at the Hilton right across the street from DTD. How early do the buses run to DTD on a weekday? Could I get there at 9:00 a.m.? The Hilton would be real close to where the buses drop you off.

How do you get a weekend off during tax season? :confused3

I remember I worked one tax season at a public firm. That was awful. Long hours and every Saturday.

Made it to the mid 40's today with lots of sun, boy did that feel good walking around this afternoon!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

It got to be 88 today here in San Antonio. This morning I walked with a hat and gloves on but by the time kids got home from school it was 88. We spent 2 hours outside at the park. Boy was that nice. Diane:banana:

They don't have the same clientel as an accounting firm, they are very busy in the beginning with all the earned income people wanting their $$ and then in April with all the procrastinators(sp)!!

Thanks for rubbing it in Di. I was just out to the National Weather Service site to check on the storm coming in tomorrow. So far, we're only looking at 1"-3" of snow, but it will be preceded by sleet and freezing rain. The counties just to the north of us are expecting 1/3" - 1/2" of ICE before the snow falls.

Looks like I'll be driving the old car to work tomorrow.

Yeah, I have people just like that, but my early ones are the ones that need the money now because they over extended themselves - No EIC clients - and then I have a couple that will wait until the last minute. I get a good chunk in March though.

I have some that want to give me their stuff around Jan 15, before everything is mailed to them. I tell everyone, I won't accept anything until after the 7th of Feb, just to make sure they get everything. One of the ones who dropped their stuff off right away just gave me a 1099 form this week that wasn't in the original stuff. Good thing I wasn't final on them yet.

We are going to a place called Shenandoah Crossings. Our friends have a Bluegreen timeshare and can go there to stay. We are renting the big Manor House on the resort there. There are 6 couples from work going. The same group as Aruba but with 2 more couples. It is going to be a blast. 12 Adults and 14 kids! Games, swimming, singing, dancing........I'll take pics!

Sounds like a good time. Di

You know winter is the only time of the year I am glad I live in CA. Don't know how you all deal with that snow. :sad2:

Karen: Those were some great pictures at Maho Beach. I had the chance to go in 2005 but passed on it. Now I wish I wouldn't have. :sad2:

What a shame you didnt go. I worry about getting back to the ship on time though if we go.

:pixiedust: for Neil!!!! :wizard::wizard::wizard:

Thank you:hug: - he got home about 1.30am. Looooong day.

The beach is not gone really, it is still there, just that it's much smaller now. Also the Sunset Beach Bar is gone too but I read somewhere that there will be a replacement soon! When we were there, we waited and waited and waited for the KLM and Air France 747's to land but they were delayed and we had to get back to the ship. There is a bridge that goes up on the way back to the ship, so make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to get back if you go to Maho :thumbsup2

I'd heard about that bridge...

Ok, I did a little research and found out some info on Maho...

The Sunset Beach Bar was shut down (owner didn't pay his taxes :rolleyes1 ) and was almost destroyed in a big hurricane last year. New owners have rebuilt it and it is now open. The beach is still there but not much beach left. The only 747's that land there anymore are Corsair's and they don't land on Tuesdays which is the day we will be there.

The morning's mostly have small planes land and the bigger ones come later in the afternoon.

Here's the big jet schedule from last fall and should be similar to this fall's schedule.

Thanks Cass:hug: :thumbsup2

Thanks Cass. Looks like only 2 - 757's landing on Tuesdays, the day we're there. No other jets coming in that day. Not sure if it is worth the effort to get there for that.

Thats what I'm thinking:rolleyes:

Sounds lovely Di:goodvibes Its warm enough now that we arent getting morning frosts, and the sun comes out a little most days but its still cold.

Looking at the schedule Cass posted our best chance is the American 757thats "daily" scheduled at 1.30pm:confused3
