So why wasn't Madagascar 2 or Horton Hears a Who not nominated for Animated Film?

I'm surprised they only had 3 in that category.

The only ever nominate 3 films in that category. There have been a few exceptions.

How long have they had a separate category for it? It hasn't been too long, has it? Maybe I'm completely wrong on that. I'm wondering if because there wasn't enough in a year to get more than 3. However, there seems to be a lot more animated movies out now days.

We are, it's hard to believe I was in the same place last just watching the daytime emmy people walk the same red carpet!!
I am a little behind though we paused it for dinner. Which was also steak & baked pototoes.

Are you catching up during the commercials, or do we need to keep the winners quiet? Don't want to ruin anything for you.

Only since the first Shrek movie have they have had the Oscar for full lenght animated movies. I think. I will find out and be right back.

The above is correct. I just checked with Wikipedia.

They started the category Animated Feature Film in 2001. Since then, they've had 3 nominees every year except 2002 when they had 5 (that was the year Lilo & Stitch lost  )

They gave special awards in 1988 to Richard Williams for the animation direction of Who Framed Roger Rabbit and in 1995 to John Lasseter, for his inspired leadership of the Pixar Toy Story team, resulting in the first feature-length computer-animated film.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Mack got up off his sick bed to read my 25 Random Facts? I'm so honored :worship: :worship:

Oh no - he didn't get up. I handed him my laptop. But at least you know he still has his sense of humor intact. He has parked in the recliner all day (except when he needs to excuse himself) and I have served him -trying to take care of him. He is really in a lot of pain and despite the codeine cough syrup, the steroids, and the z-pack, he coughs horribly, and it hurts him when he does. When he lies down, his chest sounds like it is boiling. He is going back to the doctor tomorrow. He says he feel like he has weights on his chest.
YIPPEE!!!! :yay:

Yippee for Wall-E!!!!!!!

We are! Dising and watching the Oscars at the same time. It is like my Super Bowl. I love movies and movie trivia.

I can see the two of you now! I miss your smiles and laughter!

No nebulizer yet, but maybe she'll send him home with one tomorrow. Thanks for the pixie dust and hugs, and yes, you did make him laugh! Thanks!

Don't worry, not a big deal, trying to work too--just saw Wallee win

I hope WALL*E wins for Original Score and Original Song too!

Me too! Go Wall-E!!!!

Tell Mack we hope he feels better soon.:flower3:

He says, "Thanks so much!"

He has slept most of the day, and I am getting ready to go to bed soon, so I hope he can sleep tonight. I wish I could stay home with him tomorrow, but my 9th grade has the rough draft of their research papers due tomorrow. I have to be there to help them with the peer editing. My cheer squad has a special two hour practice tomorrow afternoon, so I can't even come home early.

I couldn't remember which movie it was they needed a category for. Was there one shortly before Shrek that was in with the live action movies?

We're missing some Dawg commentary tonight. :rotfl:

What did you think of the musical number? I liked it. I think that are doing a great job with the show this year.

I saw Hugh Jackman when he was on Broadway in The Boy from Oz. He was amazing, not to mention gorgeous! He has a really quick wit - he stopped the show to make fun of some people that arrived late. He was an excellent choice to MC :thumbsup2
