We got all the thunder & lightning also. Didn't get much sleep.

But the ride in this morning- Sunrise over the beach and Jimmy Buffet on the radio- doesn't get much better than that. Then work- ugh.

Joanne, as I was driving to work this morning "Margaritaville" came on the radio....oh how I was longing for a sandy beach and warm weather! It feels like -10 with the wind chill here....

Skeleton crew in our office today. We have an event offsite which almost all our employees will be at. We'll be down to 3 of us by this afternoon in the office.

How comes you won't be there?

No idea what I've done - I keep putting off calling the doctors thinking it will be better soon ... me no likey doctors

I'll give it til Monday and then i'll call and make an appointment if I'm no better. The pain is all on one side, lower back. Cant twist or bend or drive but I can now walk very slowly. Its frustrating because its lovely and bright outside and fairly mild but I cant go anywhere.

I'm eating paracetamol and inflammation tablets like candy

Try a heat pad as well Karen. It helps my back no end.

Good morning everyone...

Just a quick post before I head out the door to a meeting in Hartford. It's to finalize the budget for the grant I have been working on. I am told it is a strong grant, so lets hope the budget makes it look even stronger. I'll check back later.

How comes you won't be there?

Not my event, it is our program staff's. The event is a business competition for high school students. The program staff is there to help with any issues, but there are business volunteers that will mentor the kids through the competition.

Actually a cool event. The top 2 at this event (which is for the Metro Milwaukee area) will go on to our State competition. From there, the top one goes to the National competition. We give lots of scholarships and bonds to the top kids also.

Just another way to teach the kids how businesses work.

I'm busy watching an old Frasier at the moment. It's the one where Martin eats Nile's 'special' brownie. Niles' thinks he's high after eating a normal brownie and Martin thinks that the Dog is talking. Don't think I've seen this one. It's very funny.

Well we lucked out. All that prediction of a foot of snow turned into about 2 inches then turned to rain. Didn't hurt my feelings in the least. Inland about 20 miles there getting all the snow.
Mrs L you keep talking about Fla sunrises on the beach you might have somebody landing on your door step at Springgate CT.
I just got through blowing what snow we had and Nancy is down on the treadmill. Its my turn to it the shower before she is done.

Karen - do you have a hot water bottle? I know it sounds like an old fashioned thing, but I use mine all the time. The nice think about is that you can go to sleep with it, which you can't do with a heating pad. You can use it on the couch, in a chair or in bed, because it doesn't have a cord and it even acts like a little pillow when you lean or lay against it.

I got this tip from a massage therapist in Dublin and I've been using it ever since!

Aslo, careful on the anti-inflammatents - they can mess up your stomach.

Jack is on a diet by default. He does get extra treats when Walt is not looking. Megan took him to Mcdonalds (drive thru) last night for a cheesburger. He is not suffering.

Yes I am already using my heat pad - it does ease it, but I cant get comfortable - forever twisting and turning.

Keep popping on here, but I cant stay long- this chair seems worse than the others
