Does anybody want a cold I have have for 2+ weeks. It won't go away. Now Nancy has one.

Well, I escaped the axe today....they laid off 50 people at my company. I was not one of them, however, there is talk of more layoffs to come as they do some "restructuring".

Sigh....it's hard not to worry all the time....

That's good news for now at least Jen I too am having a hard time not worrying about Al's job and how much longer he may have it. He is off the rest of the week. Hopefully the next house they will be working on will be ready on Mon.

Thanks, I have been a wreck for most of the day. Our company was a bit secretive about these layoffs, so it made for a very stressful day. All I can hope is that the company sees value in what I am doing, because right now the accounts I work with are seeing an increase in sales (I work in International).

Hopefully we all can stay gainfully employed (well, those of us that want to...I know some are counting down to retirement ) and won't have a care in the world come cruise time!

I don't know about up there, but down here, we have a virus that has been really nasty - antibiotics don't touch it. It starts as a cold, has a respiratory component but also a throat that mimics strep but isn't. I haven't hear an official name for it from any of the doctors my students have seen, but geez, it is nasty.

He's coming, don't worry. I had found a deal for him that he had to move quickly on and he did. Saved a ton in doing so.

To answer Nancy's question for today...

I would have to say for now a fully loaded iPod with books, music etc loaded on it. The problem would be what to do after the battery dies.

"When people spend money on life experiences, whether they also take someone with them or buy an extra ticket or whatever, most of our life experiences involve other individuals," Howell said. People were fulfilling their need for social bonding while having these experiences, he said.

Another reason for increased happiness in experiences, the researchers found, was that people felt a greater sense of vitality or "being alive" during the experience and in reflection, Howell said.

"As nice as your new computer is, it's not going to make you feel alive," he said."

I so love vacations and travel so much more than shopping and stuff. My kids best memories are of vacations and me with my parents also.

I would love to take all my nephews to WDW with my mom in MAy for her 87th birthday!!! She loves it there and would love to share it.

Just my family I would love a house on a mountain for ski in ski out for a week!

I hope everyone that is under the weather is better soon. I have the cold that won't quit also. I've had it since mid Jan.

If I was on an island for 2 weeks I would want sunscreen, a lighter, fishing line and a safety pin. I know that I was supposed to only pick one but was trying to give ideas.

Anyone feeling inspired, please say a prayer or send good wishes the way of my Competition Cheerleading team. We have State this weekend, and we have several sick. It happens, but it is this team's first time, and I want them to be able to give their best. Thanks!
