If only we could get them to breathe all over them yesterday or today - that might give it enough time. No, seriously - the school has been in existence for 11 years now. In all those years, they have not had a true competition team but the spirit cheerleaders have participated in the competition at state - I was told they had never placed. I am not sure if that is correct, but I have not seen a trophy anywhere. My goals all year have been their safety, a demonstration from them of knowledge of Whom the do this for, improvement, and a desire to keep cheering (that has been expressed to me as a need). If we go down there and do our best, I'll be fine with it - they have improved so much, demonstrated pure hearts, and all of them beg to keep working on things and have made arrangements to keep tumbling before tryouts and afterward.

So on my way to work this morning I stopped at the grocery store. This sweet little lady ran up to me and asked if I watch American Idol.
That sweet little thing was sooooo excited and was telling anyone who would listen.

I got my first lot of wages today

It was only a little bit and they taxed me waaaay too much (gotta get that sorted) but its my first wages in years!

So on my way to work this morning I stopped at the grocery store. This sweet little lady ran up to me and asked if I watch American Idol. When I told her yes, she told me she was Danny Goeke's grandma!! Danny, who is from Milwaukee, made it into the final 36 last night and he's the guy that lost his wife 1 month before try-outs. He competed with his best friend Jamar, also from Milwaukee (don't know his last name) who did not make it through to the final 36.

That sweet little thing was sooooo excited and was telling anyone who would listen.

Nice! The Princessess have been great this trip. They really shine with the kids!



I haven't done that since I was a kid. We went on the water rapids ride at Magic Mountain at least that many times. Loved every minute of it.



As much as I hate flying, I have to agree not having to pay for it was some solace!



Here at WDW they are offering 40% off next stay if booked before checkout. I'm thinking of changing from the Raddisson in October to Wilderness lodge for my pre-cruise stay.

Good morning all! We survived the wind strom last night. Only 150000 lost power. It must be the pixie dust that has kept our power on.

Jen : glad you survivied the cuts. We have had two rounds of layoffs in the last 6 months. I hope they are over.

Mimi: Good luck!!! I miss the competitions.

MG: He has been my favorite from the beginning. He really is very talented. I may have to call in for him since he has such a sweet grandmother.

Here at WDW they are offering 40% off next stay if booked before checkout. I'm thinking of changing from the Raddisson in October to Wilderness lodge for my pre-cruise stay.

What dates is that offer for? Are they limiting it or is it anytime in 2009?

I know when we were there last February, the "bounceback" was mainly during down times and ended by October.

I too may look at a different property, although, Disney has shifted October from Value to Regular season, so I may use it to get back to "Value" prices on the resort.

Last night was hoot like always and we are making plans for a sunday card night this weekend with Rob and Cass. I am crossing my fingers that we get a "take friday off" option right now..lol Monday is a holiday but 4 days are better than 3!..lol

When Cass found that pic last night we almost died laughing! she was looking for a avatar to go with my new title and that was the first thing that popped up!.. it had to be posted at that point!!..LOL

That's good news for now at least Jen I too am having a hard time not worrying about Al's job and how much longer he may have it. He is off the rest of the week. Hopefully the next house they will be working on will be ready on Mon.

Thanks, I have been a wreck for most of the day. Our company was a bit secretive about these layoffs, so it made for a very stressful day. All I can hope is that the company sees value in what I am doing, because right now the accounts I work with are seeing an increase in sales (I work in International).

Hopefully we all can stay gainfully employed (well, those of us that want to...I know some are counting down to retirement ) and won't have a care in the world come cruise time!

Well, guess who got sent home from work? Yup, me. Seems like I have a horrible case of pink eye. I have a Dr appt this morning to see what's going on. I'm wondering if it isn't allergy related since I've had this before. Last time I had it, it went away after a few hours. Not this time....

Since this is very contagious, no one at work wanted me there. And since it's hard to see this screen, I'll talk to y'all later.

So Cass, thats an interesting picture. I have read on the net that some of the more "geeky" Star Wars fans love those 10 minutes or so of Return of the Jedi when Leia, wore that outfit. I have shown DS not this picture obviously, but the one of Rob in his Clone Trooper uniform. Wasn't he selling cookies or something? He thinks its so cool.

Yeah, he was selling Girl Guide Cookies in the last pic I posted of him. They do charity events all year long, mostly in the summer. I think most boy's favourite Leia costume was the slave costume

Wow, that's cool Nancy! I haven't watched last night's show so I'm sad to hear that Jamar didn't make it. Danny is one of my fave contestants!!!

When Brian got home from work last night, and found out Lina was feeling under the weather, he came over to bring Lina "one" of her Valentine's Day gifts early. Brian nearly had all three of us in tears when Lina opened the package and found out what was inside. Brian told Lina he had a few surprises in store for her this Saturday. I can't wait to find out what they are.
