That's it for me this morning..off to do some stuff for Mum and then picking up some food for Rick's birthday meal tonight.

Here are a couple of places. And you can Google "math word problems for elementary" or something similar for more.

http://www.cdli.ca/CITE/math_problems.htm

http://math-and-reading-help-for-kids.org/math_word_problems_for_elementary_students.html

http://teachers.net/lessonplans/subjects/math/

These vary in what they offer, but maybe they can help or lead you to more help.

Thank you - I'll check them out.

A tuna pie ??? :crazy2: I'm hoping this is one of those UK'isms that I don't understand. :rotfl:

:rotfl2: I just made it up as an example of a question... we dont really have tuna pies over here:rotfl2:

I was thinking the same thing! :rotfl:

See above:rotfl2:

Karen..nothing better to do???:thumbsup2 We had a sort of mexican meal tonight...Stir fry chicken and lots of veg with 1 tortilla for me and 3 for Rick.

It all started off with me hunting for my abba cd and just sort of snowballed inot a mad sort out:rolleyes2

Rain....you want rain. You could've had ours from last night/this morning. We had torrential rain and got soaked getting in the car this morning.

Us too Heather - hail too:sad2:

Yes, Heather, it is a National Holiday - no mail and the banks are closed. Not every company gives their employees off, but MINE DOES!!! :yay:

I don't know how much work we are going to get done tomorrow - it's Inauguration Day! Our cafeteria has big flat panel TVs and I'm sure we're all going to be sneaking down there to watch the festivities party:

Enjoy the day.:goodvibes

The actual swearing in begins at 11:30, but everyone is really looking forward to the Inaugural Address, which will follow. The parade starts at 2:30.

Parade?... oooh... I love a good parade.... I bet Dawg will be on the look out for those Rocket women:rotfl2:

Hello to all of you I know and those I don't. As Kathy wrote previously, I don't always have the time to keep up with you all, but I will try to. You still probably won't find me posting all that much (you can see from my post count), but I will keep track as best as I can.
We are having another "dusting" here in southwestern CT. It's been snowing every few days lately. I am sure we won't catch up with the really North people, but it is a much snowier winter so far that we have had in a long time.
As Kathy wrote, we will be at the World at this time next week. Around this time we will be getting ready to go to the Hoop-de-doo Review. I haven't seen it in a long time, so I am looking forward to it!
That's all for now! :wave2:

Good to see you back.. dopnt worry about keeping up, just post a "hello" every now and again:goodvibes

Morning Folks.........fell asleep before 9:30 last night, woke up at 1:30 to go to the bathroom and haven't been able to go back to sleep since, it's going to be another long day for me I'm afraid..............

Everyone try and have a nice day!!! :thumbsup2

Oh well, at least I was able to get some bills paid and balance the checkbook this morning while it was nice and quiet in the house...........:lmao:

Us too! We can't wait to stay there...we're hoping in December 2010.

Even though they are 3-bedrooms they will be the same points as a 2-bedroom at SSR (they'll sleep 9). I took a long walk around SSR one of the days Rach was sick while we were there and I was able to get very close to the treehouse villas. They're on the laptop which Rach is using to do homework, when I get a chance I'll post some, they look pretty neat and we can't wait to stay in one :cool1:

Glad you liked it!
There will be more pics of me.....maybe.

Mel, I just made a stop over on your TR. Great job on it. I love the part about the "silent cheers". I could picture it. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm glad they found your laptop back so quickly too. :thumbsup2

But, all those great pictures and only a 1/2 of a picture of our BOBer? :guilty:
C'mon, you have to do better than that. :goodvibes :flower3:

The cake mix is 150 calories/2g fat/1g fiber (this is for 1/12 of the cake)
2 egg whites 34 calories/0 fat/0 fiber (for the whole cake)
diet soda 0

The icing is (this would be divided by 12):
1 Dream Whip dessert topping mix - 15 calories/.5g fat/0 fiber
1 package Jello FF/SF instant pudding mix - 100 calories/0 fat/0 fiber
1.5 cups skim milk - 120 calories/0 fat/0 fiber

Of course, you could eat the cake with some FF Cool Whip or no icing at all.

Thanks Nancy

Good morning all! Have a happy and warm day!

Kathy - Thanks for the recipe. For a piece as described with icing, I get the upper end of 5 points. Is that what you get Nancy?

Off to work - we're sitting the kids in front of the big screens for the President's taking of the Oath of Office! I don't think we get to sit there for the parade though.

I have a tv in my office at work. I think I'll have a lot of guests in there today myself. :thumbsup2

Glad you liked it!

Yep a little less than 7 weeks to go and I wll be in sunny Florida running with the Princesses.

Don't run over all those other princesses Shell. :cool1:

Thanks everyone for all the Happy Birthday wishes! :grouphug: Been spending a nice quiet evening relaxing after work. I'm not doing the usual load of laundry tonight!

Hey Cheryl, did you give yourself a multi-quoted post for a birthday gift? I don't think I've ever seen one from you. :rotfl2:

When I read this "The actual swearing in begins " I had to read it again!:rotfl2: I was imagining all sorts of bad language.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I used the Pillsbury Reduced Sugar Devils Food cake mix. I added 2 egg whites and a can of diet root beer. That's it! It tastes delicious! http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/344452/pillsbury_reduced_sugar_cake_mix_review.html

The icing was 1 packet of Dream Whip, one package of Jello SF/FF pudding mix and 1.5 cups of skim milk (but you could use 1% or 2%). I needed to use the electric mixer on high for about 5 minutes to get the texture right.

I've made this one myself and because I like the flavor of orange and chocolate togther, I used vanilla pudding with a few drops of orange extract in it. Then I added a few drops of red/yellow (orange) food coloring to it for a Halloween Cake for work. It really is a great recipe and no one at work knew it was low in points. :goodvibes

So who, besides Karen who is probably 1/2 packed already:rotfl2: , has made all their ressies already? Hotel, Car Rental, Flights, etc.

We're going to work on the car rental this week and probably book CBR for the night after the cruise. We're still up in the air about Thursday night's accomodations because we are waiting to see when our flight comes in before deciding to do mnsshp that night.

We also don't know for sure who among us is actually cruising. We have to make plans for 2, 4, and 6 people. I think Kristin and Jesse will decide at the last minute if they are coming or not. :rolleyes2

I've booked the Radisson and the rental car, so far. Holding off on the flights for now (although Frank already has his!). I have to wait until March 31st to book AKV for the night we get back.

Wound up taking a Personal Day from work today. I went to shave and shower to get ready for work and found we didn't have any hot water. Went and tried lighting the pilot on the gas hot water heater about five times and the pilot light would not stay lit. Had to re-light the pilot yesterday and thought everything was fine, I guess it wasn't. Just called our local gas company and they are sending a repairman out to take a look at it. We had a new hot water installed less than two years ago.

The lady at the gas company said a repairman will be here between 8:00am(now) and 4:30pm.......
