I've Had It With Hanna!!!

Saturday, Sep 6, 2008

Hazel and I finally arrived home "late" this afternoon. Once again, Tropical Storm Hanna, played a part in our travel plans. First making us miss our second stop at Castaway Cay on Friday, then today delaying our flight home. We left Orlando airport late, only to circle over Philadelphia for about 45 minutes while getting bounced around in the plane because of who else, Hanna, that's who. We finally landed around 4:10pm no worse for the wear.

Our luggage was soaking wet and even some of our clothes and our pillows were wet that were in the luggage. Be that as it may, we are home, safe and sound, and was so happy to see our daughter upon our arrival home!!!

Our daughter was also happy to see us!!! :lovestruc

Thank goodness you're home safe.

For the first time in 6 Disney cruises, we had one of our magnets stolen from our door. It was there when we went for the muster drill, when we came back 15 minutes later, it was gone. It was the first FE gift we had received on our cruise this past week.

Thats not the disney way, is it Andy? We didn't have any of ours stolen, few moved round, but they seems to be all there. Rick just said that he's surprised that stuff didn't get taken from our FE.

Hi everyone! We're new -- just booked today.

This will be our 2nd Disney cruise. Last time we were a cat 11 and I booked cat 12 this time -- although now I'm getting a little worried because it's a guarantee room and I don't want to be on a noisy "end" of a row room. I've been reading online about one room in particular (farthest from front on left) that has a service elevator that is noisy next door.

I wonder if I called them if they'd honor at least that? I mean we're far enough out you know? There's only like 12 of these cat 12 rooms -- I can't believe they didn't sell out yet?

Anyway, hi everyone! I'm stressing about this room thing and it's over a year away... I need to resolve this soon! :lmao:

Welcome Jules and Harrison. I'm Heather and my DH is Rick. We're a friendly bunch of mad cruisers. Jump right in. Lots of info on page one...the others will be along sometime today to welcome you.

Well, I'll be back later. Rick and I are off to see Mum and Dad. I heard yesterday that he was discharged from hospital on Thursday and he's now home. Thanks for all the good wishes, prayers an pixie dust for him. It worked.

Good Morning Folks.....

Sometime between 11:10 yesterday morning and 11:30 last night, Hazel misplaced her cell phone. It could be anywhere from the Orlando Airport, as she used it to call Lina in the morning, to the plane, the Philly Airport, or even in our friends car who picked us up and brought us home. Looks like we have several phone calls to make this morning.

Speaking of cell phones. When I woke up this morning, I forgot where I was and went reaching for my cell phone on the nightstand next to the bed. Then I remembered, I wasn't on the Magic any longer........:rotfl:

:welcome: to the Bash on the Boat!!!

I'm Jen, and I will be traveling with DH Pete, and DS Thomas...as well as 3 other cabins of family. Please make yourself "at home" on the thread! We're a chatty bunch, but please jump right in. We'll post all important stuff on post 1 of the thread. Also, Cass (aka Timon) has done up a nifty website for our cruise, which you can get to by clicking the orage box in my siggie - check it out! We have lots of fun stuff we're planning.

As far as the cabin, I'm not sure - I've only cruised once before and we had an assigned room. We've got some seasoned cruisers on the thread, so maybe we can get you an answer.

We were thinking of getting the kids each a Nintendo DS for Christmas so that they would have them to travel to Florida whether we fly or drive. We are thinking now we will just get a Wii. If we get the Wii, Elaine and I can play and enjoy it as well.

I will have to keep my eye out for that Batman Lego game. :thumbsup2 A game that I am eagerly anticipating for PC keeps being delayed. It's Deadliest Catch based on the reality TV show of the same name.

We used a portable DVD player fo rour flight to FL last year, as well as a couple 4-5 hour car trips....that worked well for DS.

We just got a Wii in July - it's very much fun! I'm not big on video games, but I like the Wii controller. We rented the Lego Star Wars game to try it (not quite enough $$ to buy ALL the games we want!) and it was fun. I have 2 big Star Wars fans here at home too!

What other PC games do you play? DH is a computer "geek" ...he does PC support for his job and plays at home too. :)

By the way, welcome home! Sorry you missed one of your CC stops, but glad you're home safe and sound. I've enjoyed reading the blog!

:welcome: to the BOB Cruise!!!

Take it from me, you don't want Cat 12 cabin 2021. Just spent 5 nights in that room and the noise from the supply room next to us was horrible.

I'm Andy and I will cruising with my DW Hazel and DD Angelina, who will be 19 when we sail on the BOB cruise.

Welcome, Jules and Harrison! I'm Paige and my DH, Rob, and I will be cruising without our children (Emily, 15, Derek, 12, Alex,8) this time. This will be our 3rd cruise.

We are a chatty bunch, as Jen said. Just jump right in and start chatting. As for your cabin issue, I have no idea, but just wait a few hours and I'm sure someone will be along to give you some input. I think Mike and Robin have done "gty" previously. I thought that with a "gty", you had a better chance of an upgrade, but I am wrong a lot.

Anyway, Welcome!:thumbsup2

Hi All,

I got my cruise pics and videos loaded into my Webshots account. I need to go back and edit some pics, but really feeling out of sorts still, so that will have to wait. I have NEVER felt this bad after a cruise. Must be between the motion of the ship, and the bumpy plane ride home yesterday, finally caught up to me. I'm hoping to get back to Riverwinds tomorrow, because after spending 5 days on the Magic, I really need it!!! :lmao:

They each have portable DVD's so that will work. DD Sam wants an iPod for Christmas so that will help too. The shuffles are so cheap now! As long as we can find a Wii, I think we are going to go with that. The flight from either Bradley or Providence is slightly less than 3 hours, so I'll keep the fingers crossed that the batteries last for most of it.

I like to play simulator games on PC. Flight Simulator is my all time favorite. I don't have the newest version yet, but I downloaded aircraft onto my current version. As a result I can fly Regional Jets, 757's, 767's, MD80's etc, in addition to the standard planes that are on it. I have played SimCity, RollerCoaster Tycoon as well. I have tried some other sims such as Farm Simulator and Airport Tycoon, but those were done rather poorly I thought. The farm one would lock up once you got to a certain point in the game.

Welcome aboard. There is a great group of people here. We booked a month ago, and I felt welcomed right from the start. :thumbsup2

I hear you regarding stressing over rooms. I am very detail oriented and I am already checking flight times and costs based on this years dates. I was happy when we booked an 11 and got our room number. It is is a good location and it is convenient to most spots on the ship. I'm a big time over planner so I can relate!

Looking forward to getting to know you over the next 13 months. Our family consists of Me, Chris or Christian 35 at sailing..(so many other Chris' on this cruise!) DW Elaine 33 at sailing, DD Samantha 9, and DS James 7, (we call him Jay).

Welcome aboard the BOB cruise!
