Karen,

Rob also plays Star Wars Lego on his PS3, it's the only game he's played since he bought it ;) Star Wars AND Lego combined into technology...a true geeks fantasy come true :lmao: :lmao:

All right Rob! :thumbsup2 I must be a geek too. :confused3

I must admit that the kids play it much more than I do. However, Beth and I like to get on the PS3 and play Star Wars and Indy Lego without the kids! :rolleyes1

Hanna has finally arrived in Northern Virginia. It has been raining pretty much all morning, but now the winds are kicking up. The heaviest rain is supposed to be between now and 6 PM or so.

Matthew

Sorry Cass...will get round to it, but suffering with jet lag at the moment. Thought Jeff would have uploaded some by now, as h was back ages ago.

Heather, take some time and relax! You must be exhausted girl!!! I was hintin to Jeff and Chris ;)

Star Wars geeks unite!! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Rob is a TRUE Star Wars geek....he's a member of the 501st, a Star Wars costuming club. They dress up and attend charity events, mostly for kids.

Here he is selling Girl Guide cookies ;)

He's the Clone Trooper :goodvibes

We were thinking of getting the kids each a Nintendo DS for Christmas so that they would have them to travel to Florida whether we fly or drive. We are thinking now we will just get a Wii. If we get the Wii, Elaine and I can play and enjoy it as well.

I will have to keep my eye out for that Batman Lego game. :thumbsup2 A game that I am eagerly anticipating for PC keeps being delayed. It's Deadliest Catch based on the reality TV show of the same name.

I must say the nintendo ds is a godsend. Best thing we ever bought him. He even takes it to restaurants while he's waiting for his dinner to arrive or waiting for us to finish. He takes it in the car, waiting rooms at dentists etc, it goes everywhere:rolleyes1

Good news Karen! :thumbsup2

(And, I too LOVE all your pictures. Keep 'em comin')!!

Karen,

I'm too late but here's some pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: for your dad's recovery! Glad he's ok

And I love the photos! We call it Legos up here too :rolleyes1 Looks like you had fun! You're such a good mum for taking Ellis to all those great places

That gigantic spider would have creeped me out though :lmao:

While most people point out that they just say LEGOs,
lunatic@netcom.com (Lunatic Johnathan Bruce E'Sex) dug out:

One catalogue, dated 1980, has the following on its back page:

Dear Parents and Children
The word LEGO(R) is a brand name and is very special to all of
us in the LEGO Group Companies. We would sincerely like your
help in keeping it special. Please always refer to our bricks
as 'LEGO Bricks or Toys' and not 'LEGOS.' By doing so, you will
be helping to protect and preserve a brand of which we are very
proud and that stands for quality the world over. Thank you!

The above quote from the catalog is often cited as evidence for "Lego"
as the proper plural, but in fact that is misreading it. Trademark law
in the US at least is easiest if the trademark is used as an
_adjective_. The point they're trying to make is that you should say
"LEGO Bricks", rather than calling the product itself either "Legos"
_or_ "Lego".

In fact, they seem to assume that "LEGOS" is the natural plural, since
that's the only one they bother to correct. So, in formal usage, both
"Lego" and "Legos" are wrong. To me, that means people shouldn't make
such a big deal about it in informal use!

Which is correct as the plural of LEGO: 'Lego' or 'Legos'? Neither, actually. The word 'LEGO', when used as a noun, should only refer to the company that makes the product. Otherwise 'LEGO' is supposed to be used as an adjective. Thus, when referring to the pieces, neither 'lego' nor 'legos' is correct... rather one should say: 'LEGO bricks' or 'LEGO pieces' or whatever (using LEGO as an adjective -- and one should really capitalize all of the letters, and put the little 'circle-R' symbol after it (®)). This is all a matter of protecting the trademark of 'LEGO' for the company (using it otherwise degenerates the strength of the trademark). This is not to say that I use the word correctly 100% of the time... but that's the answer to the question (it's always fun/painful to read the near-flame-wars that start at slashdot.org over this topic... and generally, both sides are wrong).
