10/24/09 Bash on the Boat (I'm With BOB) Thread #12

Good morning everyone.

I think the cold is finally here for all of us in the Northern US! There was quite a heavy frost outside when I put the dog out, and I am contemplating if I should drive the kids to the bus stop or not. I think I will just suck it up and walk them. How cold can I get in just a few minutes of waiting with them???:confused3

We are contemplating if we should take the day off or not. We worked long days all weekend, and this week will be a long week as well. When we do take days off, we usually take Mondays since we often have to work Saturday and Sunday.

Hmmmmm what to do??? :confused3

TAKE THE DAY OFF!!!

I havent even seen what new pieces are about. Our nearest shop is about 1 hour away. We used to be regular customers.... not any more:sad2: They released too many all at once and the market just got flooded. They are even on ebay now, so the exclusivity has gone:sad2:

I never bought every one, but I do have some favorites. So, I pick and choose. I have the original Snow White set and some of the limited pieces (queen, hag, prince). I have most of the original Bambi...but I missed the mouse and I have separate Bambi and Flower. The rest are mostly individual pieces. I like the Small World set...but I am buying only my favorites. That's what's new that I want...as well as a couple of others.

You're right about availability, though. That does make it kind of sad.

My dealer is also almost an hour away. So, that makes it hard.

Do you have any pictures of your collection? I could take some and have Matthew post them for me.

I only bought 1 book...but I pre-ordered the CD audiobook for Matthew to start on! I listened to it shortly after I read the book. It lets you focus on the story instead of reading without being modified like the movies. I listened to the audiobooks on the way to and from work. I might have to do it again since they have postponed the movie!

Megan still hasn't read all of the HP books. They weren't in her AR reading level for school and since she had to read so much for school credits, she couldn't read for fun. But, she might get a chance this year.

I haven't read the Twilight series. I'm not sure which one that is. Can you tell me the titles?

I had such a busy weekend that I have not had a chance to get caught up on the board. The Twilight series was written for teenage girls about a vampire named Edward. Even though the market was teenage girls my friends and I (we are the 40 something crowd) have really enjoyed the books too. The movie is coming out soon and the guy who played Cedric Diggory HP is playing Edward. Your daughter would love them. The first one is Twilight, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, Midnight Sun. Some of the books are written from the girls point of view and some are from the boys point of view. I think the author is Stephanie Meyer? I hope you enjoy

Oh yeah! I forgot about that. I'll have Thursday and Friday off. That'll be nice....hopefully my kids will let me sleep until at least 7am!!! :rotfl:

Thank goodness!!! I have a tradition with my brother for Black Friday: we get up early, hit the mall, have a nice lunch and then go to the movies. I always look forward to it.

Ok, here's a start!

You are the best!!!!!!!:dance3:

Before I forget ... there were no tiaras to be found anywhere on property while we were there. I actually screwed up the courage to ask a manager at Arrabis Bros. where all the tiaras were and he said their supplier is "'way behind."

The end result ... the Food Porn Queen (thanks for the title, Becky) still doesn't have a tiara for next year's cruise. Oh, the humanity ...

Those of you who were planning to join in the tiara fun may want to look at DTD or the German outlet of Arrabis Bros in Epcot when you visit the Mouse at Christmas ... they may be re-stocked by then. As for me ... I guess I will have to ask AFEG to steal the crown jewels for me. ;)

If you do not mide a used one DD was a homecoming princess three years and has several that is collecting dust. I can throw one in for you.

Oh yes Mimi we are just fine . We had a quiet weekend. Pete and I went fishing Saturday and Sunday for a couple of hour's. It was cold but we had fun . When we left yesterday morning at 6:00AM it was 28 degrees.
Nancy went to church yesterday while I stayed home and got an Eye of the Round Roast ready to cook, and yes it came out great. We went for a walk uptown yesterday afternoon to look at the Halloween paintings the kids did on the store front windows. It's an annual event.
Well to all us loyal Red Sox's fans it was another great year. They did get to game 7. of the ALCS Thats more than the Yankees did:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:.
Every body have a great day .Again Nancy is subbing and leaving me the honey do list.

PS
Cassy Nancy and I will send you info to add to our picture in a couple of day's.

Well, we won't tell her you said that! :rotfl2: Yes, she is 19 next month and my son is 22 in December. He is at GA Tech and is in his 4th year of the 5 year plan because he works a co-op job every other semester.

Our grandson (the one without the toe) will also be 19 next month - the 17th. Loved the pictures!

Hi all! Well......a chain of events this week has caused us to cancel our cruise plans. We were scheduled to use our Marriott HHI resort in July. Found out we aren't able to go so we deposited it with II. Our week qualifies for a bonus week (a reduced rate) at any number of resorts world wide. It costs us nothing if we use it so we decided to keep our eyes open. This morning, I was able to book a 2 bedroom at Marriott's Surf Club in Palm Beach Aruba for next Labor Day for $299. Too good to pass up. We just can't do both.

I hope you all don't mind me popping in once in a while to see how you are all doing! Have a wonderful cruise! If only money grew on trees......;)

Sounds like a deal you can't pass up. Sorry we won't get to meet you on the BOB.

Caution on the linking, you can NOT make any online reservations (i.e. excursions, spa) when anyone you are linked to is in their reservation. I would recommend linking AFTER the 90 day mark. :thumbsup2

Joanne,
Is this someting we should be concerned about? I think we are linked for dining.
