Kathy, when the time gets closer you'll have to share tips on St. Thomas & St. Martin with those of us who haven't been there. I was looking at a book last night but it's hard to know what excursion to chose if any.

Sure thing. One thing about St. Maarten though - many of the beaches are 'clothing optional'. Unfortunately, the people that choose to exercise that option are not always the ones who should be!

I do actually enjoy it (most of the time) ...
Our only trouble is there arent enough parents...

Its a big school - 750 children - that means up to 1500 parents in theory. Theres 3 of us that do the dsaily stuff and all the planning and events, (hence the chaotic mess most days ) Recruiting new parents is difficult

I am so sorry to hear that you have that problem over there too. What is the matter with those parents. My husband and I are still involved and we do not have any kids in the school anymore. Both of our kids went to the same high school we went to. DH and I were high school sweethearts. The principal and several of the teachers graduated with us so it really is fun to have that connection. DH is the assistant baseball coach and the field crew for all of the sports fields. I think we have sucker tatooed on our foreheads. Oh well, we enjoy it.

Thanks Heather. We heard that before we traveled there. We only used it twice for that reason. I also called the card before we travelled to let them know my concerns. I will be calling today to check our charges.

We did a sunset cruise one night. It was nice even though we didn't see the entire sunset for the clouds.

I think I have that sucker tattoo too .... my DS changed schools June 2007... we were invited back to his old school for one of their summer barbeques that July......... guess who ended up running the bouncy castle .... yep! - me! - I was still suckered into helping even after he'd left the school ... most of the parents came up and commented "I thought you'd left!"... "I have! but no other sucker is stupid enough to take over"... it was usually at this point in the conversation that they made a quick exit incase they got roped in too

I'm a genius!

I have been trying since 7am this morning to download a programme for Ellis' ds ........ I tried , tried again , left for school, nipped back at lunchtime, tried again, back to school, back home, tried again, again etc .... and finally..... at 8.36pm, after 8 attempts (and ordering a whole new bunch of software) I finally got it loaded and working!!!!!!!

Just in time for him to try it once before he has to go to bed ... Poor kid has waited all day long and gets 8 minutes play time ...

Oh well, I guess he'll be up early tomorrow

I think its called the "big give"

They have selected 10 people from all over USA out of thousands of applicants. They dont know it yet, but the one who "gices" the most ends up with a million dollars at the end! As I said, I missed the first one - it aired on Saturday here, I think she said it was on a Sunday 8- 9pmish central/eastern or something like that (still cant work that out!) Looks good though.
