Well, not really sure where the weekend has disappeared to

Havent been in the house for more than 10 minutes at a time before shooting out to yet another event for Ellis

And how the heck did I manage to volunteer to help out at the three and half hour craft event at Beavers yesterday???? - the words just shot out of my mouth before I could stop them All the other parents just threw their kids through the door and ran ... I could see they were short staffed so I volunteered ,....why cant I be more like the "throw them in and run" parents

I ended up covered in plaster dust and my manicure is now hideous

He's had a great weekend including a bowling party he went to this morning... although I need to start charging him taxi (no wait a minute ... chauffeur) rates

We had 6 minutes to make a sandwich, get him out of his party clothes and into his karate whites and back into the car for karate at lunchtime. Lunch was a quick sandwich in the car enroute I actually had time for a cup of tea from a vending machine while I waited for him to do his grading. I think that was my first hot drink all weekend

I wouldnt mind but tomorrow I'm in school all day for the PTA, then Tuesday I'm involved in the Infant school Entertainer

At some point I've promised myself that I'll do some housework

Well, I'm off to cook dinner.... later peeps

Parents like you are hard to find. We were that way with our kids and their activities and they have turned out to be great people. It is worth all of the sacrafice and gray hair. I can not believe I am going to say this but I miss it. Our DS is getting married in July and we are now thinking grandchildren can not be to far behind.

Good morning everyone!

It was sooooo nice to sleep in today due to the holiday. Last night we had a nice relaxing bonfire with our neighbors, did the smores thing, and then I took my sister over to the casinos to hang out. No gambling, just people watching, looking in the stores etc. We did enjoy some Ben & Jerry's. We are planning a concert together in the spring or summer so we will be looking at the acts that will be coming to Mohegan Sun and MGM Grand @ Foxwoods.

If it wasn't 11 PM, I wouldn't have minded to have a quick bite to eat at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville that just opened at Mohegan Sun. The menu and atmosphere look great. Oh well, another time perhaps.

It looks like it will be a nice relaxing day here. I'll check in periodically.

I am going to follow you to the great stores. I want to shop in St Thomas. Last time we got Gosling Rum which we were so excited about. I know you are the shopping guru.

I was glancing at the shore stuff last night. Since we have no idea what's good & what's not we'll have to rely on you who have done the 7 day before to guide us.

Happy Columbus Day everyone!

I am celebrating by going to lunch with friends. One of us is turning 40! Not me...been there, done that.

Welcome to all the new bobers! I have been very busy this weekend, so I have just skimmed the thread and looked at all the pics! Loved the VIEUX CARRE one, Lori. I would love to be there right now. It's a great time to visit NOLA this time of year.

Well, our LSU tigers played like pigs, my DS, Alex's team lost big, too. Yesterday Rob and I went to see the Redskins play (someone offered us tickets to a suite to watch the game--so much fun) and they lost too! I am definitely ready for a margarita with lunch!

I'm sure she will be better soon. Alex is home today too. She says her throat hurts and head also hurts. She doesn't have a fever but I'm letting her stay home too. I never let them just skip school so I don't feel too bad about letting her miss one day since I'm home already.

Our schools around here are closed today, for Columbus Day. I have off as well, but went in to get some overtime $$ just got in for lunch.......

Another must do is the Kuku Kunukoo Bus. It takes you for a champagne toast at sunset, dinner then out to bars until midnight. We had a blast. The bus is open and you have to yell and scream at anything moving on the outside of the bus. People looked at us like we were crazy. And as the night went on I was thinking there were some of us that were crazy.

cassies been home this weekend.

we had ds and family over yesterday. first time cassies seen brady.

so cassie took lots of pics for them. family photos etc.
after dinner we're sitting around and cassies playing with addison and she says what sounds like "grandma sit" to cassie!!
she doesnt get to see cassie that much and we wernt sure what she was saying.

we kept asking addison "who is that". her reply "grandma"

well courtney said she doesnt call anyone grandma, robin is momma, and the courtneys mom is nana.

it took a little while but finally figured out what addison was calling her was
CAMERA. all the pics she took, i guess she just figured that was her name.
so thats cassies new nickname and she loves it.

I have managed to get a grad hat fom a very kind Dibber - she's posted it today so all I need is a red tassle (or two). Would it be ok if I shipped it to your address and you bring it at xmas?

I do actually enjoy it (most of the time) ...
Our only trouble is there arent enough parents...

Its a big school - 750 children - that means up to 1500 parents in theory. Theres 3 of us that do the dsaily stuff and all the planning and events, (hence the chaotic mess most days ) Recruiting new parents is difficult

I must admit, I've done a wee bit of shopping in St. Thomas in the past. Great prices on gold but I've found some nice local shops too. When we got back last April, I ended up re-doing my powder room with prints and little gorgeous things that I picked up in St. Thomas. It is very tropical now

Kathy, when the time gets closer you'll have to share tips on St. Thomas & St. Martin with those of us who haven't been there. I was looking at a book last night but it's hard to know what excursion to chose if any.
