Oooohhh!! Aruba!! Love, love Aruba! Thinking of heading back. Laxlad says that is where he wants to go the summer he graduates. I could handle that!

I missed an FO! My first opportunity and I missed it!

Wasn't thrilled with Aruba. But then again I just came down with the Cruise Crud and had slammed my finger in a door that day so that could have something with it. It was the only destination though that I thought had a decent shopping.

I am soooooooooooooo freakin    right now. Seems that my wonderful inlaws ran up a $500 electric bill while we were gone.:headache: Guess I'll be calling to make arrangements for this one. :sad2:

Yowsa! How in the world do you rack up a bill like that!!!???

We were in Aruba last summer for a week and had such a good time. The water was so clear, the people were so friendly. We did an off road jeep tour and really loved that! We then went to a private island for the afternoon. One evening, we went and watched some locals practicing for a wind surfing tournament. Other times we beach hopped. With the wind there, it was so cool to watch. The food was top notch - NY quality. If you get a chance to do more than a cruise stop, give it a try. One day is just not enough!! We would actually go back to Aruba before Hawaii. Not a killer flight like Hawaii.

I was going to ask the same thing, how the heck do you run up an extra $500 in Electric in 3 weeks? :confused3 I don't think I could do that even if I left every light on while we were gone.

As for Aruba, we loved it. We would go back. The new Riu looks awesome. It would be a great "beach vacation". The water was great on Palm Beach. Although AFEG will argue that we should have gone to Eagle Beach because the sights were better. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: We did get to see pictures though. ::yes::

Sorry, this is not cruise related, but I have a question for DVC members. I have 20 points left, not banked yet, fo rthis use year (April 2008). I know that if I don't bank them, they will expire in March 2009. When do they expire if I DO bank them?

I'm not a DVC member, but you can just give them to one of your cruise friends to use them. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

If you bank, wouldn't they expire by the end of your next "use year"?

Well, someone on the DVC board says that if I bank them, they will expire 3/31/2010.

That would be fine except we have all of our trips planned (so I think our points are allocated) before then, and we don't plan to go in 2010.

I hope I can "switch" the points to one of my upcoming trips (which I had to borrow from next year's points) and return the "borrowed" points back to 2009, so I can bank them, then use them in 2011. UGH! My brain hurts.

From the DVC website:

What do I need to know about borrowing Vacation Points?

You may borrow Vacation Points only when confirming a reservation and can only borrow the number of Vacation Points needed to make that reservation.

If you have not completed travel on borrowed Vacation Points by the end of the Use Year they've been borrowed into, they will expire.

You cannot return borrowed Vacation Points to their original Use Year.

You cannot bank or transfer borrowed Vacation Points.

You may apply borrowed Vacation Points to all Member Getaways reservations.

All borrowing transactions are final.

In order to borrow Vacation Points, you must be current on your Annual Dues and monthly loan payments (if applicable), and cannot have any other overdue balances related to your Membership.

Borrowing may be suspended or limited from time to time in order to maintain a proper balance of Vacation Points in the Central Reservation System.

Oops. Sorry.:guilty: We have never been to Aruba and are really excited about going. The pictures look beautiful. Anything you think we just HAVE to do?
