10/24/09 Bash on the Boat (I'm With BOB) Thread #11

Hazel and I had tickets to see the play "Mousetrap" at one of our local community theatre groups this evening. Since it is a murder/mystery type of play, Hazel wasn't really interested in going, so we gave our tickets to Lina and her friend Trish. Trish is going to school for law enforcement, so we thought she might enjoy the play. This is the theatre that we have season tickets for, we bought tickets for three shows and got three shows for free.

The next play is "The Music Man" on November 15th, I already told Lina I "will not" be giving those tickets up, but if she and Trish would like to go see it, I would see about getting them tickets. Trish and her mom went along with the three of us in August to see "Damn Yankees."

This theatre group really puts on some good shows. Hazel and I have already purchased our season tickets for 2009, and with doing so, we got two free tickets for the Christmas Show coming up in December.

BTW, I have a copy of "The Music Man" on VHS that I received as a Christmas gift from Lina a couple of years ago..........

The one I was part of was the Punxsutawney Theatre Arts Guild. We did either 3 or 4 showings in November of 1986. I was a very young 12 (short and skinny), so my 6th grade teacher recommended that I be approached about auditioning. It was a lot of fun. The following year I was Charlie in The Best Christmas Pagent Ever.

I don't do any acting now, but when I am in the mood, I'll do impersonations and maybe some monologues from movies.

BTW, I have a copy of "The Music Man" on VHS that I received as a Christmas gift from Lina a couple of years ago..........

That was the first VHS movie we purchased in our house. In fact, I think we bought it shortly after I was in the musical. My sister grew up watching it. As a toddler I remember her saying, "i want to watch the band!"

I think she just upgraded to the DVD in the last year or so.

Andy, your niece is beautiful. Just remind Lina that she needs to save some of that Disney Store paycheck, I have a feeling that goddaughter of hers is going to be spoiled.

Love love love the music man. I remember when Disney came out with the Matthew Broderik and Kristen Chenoweth a few years back. One of my new teachers is from Gary, Indiana. I had to sing that the first time he told me that. Then a teacher asked him where he was from and I was in the room and he just pointed at me, and I burst out in song.
Shipoopi and Til there was you and Pick a little are my favorites.

I always liked Sadder but Wiser Girl and Maaaaaaaarian. I used to watch those two from the wings.

It just didn't seem as festive as the Christmas party. It was fun, don't get me wrong, but we won't be planning a trip just to get to the party.

I think we'll be cruising in 2011 (hopefully) but probably a December one. We love to be at WDW and DCL for the holiday season and have been struggling to make two trips a year happen. Airfare for four people is too costly and park tickets are outrageous!

SO, we have two WDW trips this year, one cruise next year and then probably WDW in December for 2010 and then cruise in December for 2011.

2011 for us may end up being an early Christmas at WDW

Yes Sean's DD (because there is no way my DD would feel this way) says that cruises are boring and she just wants to do WDW for her grad present. With the new ship though I am hoping to convince her otherwise. Although we may have to switch to another line as well in the future or spred out cruising a little further, the price for Disney is getting a little spendy.

Christmas time is our favorite as well. I haven't seen Castaway Cay all decorated yet for Christmas so that is one reason I want to cruise then as well. If we don't in 2011, then I definately want to plan it for our vow renewal in 2013. Our anniversary usually falls the week of Thanksgiving (11/26, next year it is on TG) so planning on cruising right after that. Of course this all depends on how budgeting and lifes surprises go.

This should be a lot of fun...getting to know each other over the next 55 weeks.

As I have said before, this is way out of my element, but it will be cool to meet at the Radisson, then the terminal, and then see each other throughout the week as we sail on the greatest ship on the seas! For saying that, I have to add a pic! This one is on my office desktop computer.

Chris - it was brilliant. Every time you left your cabin you bumped into someone you knew Lots of us linked rezzies so we all sat on tables in the same area, and then of course theres the fun of the Dis tag gifts arriving at your door

I agree with you Chris It was really cool seeing people we knew all over the ship the entire week! Wherever we turned, there was a KKer And there's more BOBers than there were KKers, so even more fun!!!
