Hi, Charles. Welcome aboard. This cruise will be birthday central. Lots of folks celebrating b-days and anniversaries.

Will your son be joining you on the cruise. I will add you all to the list. Just let me know about your son.

Glad to have you aboard.

Our son Zachary will be with us in spirit only, we are treating ourselves to a cruise without him. Our treat for 17 years of hard work getting him into college. If it works out as he has it planned he will be in Austin Tx, instead of Sailing to the Saints.

Charles

Hey to all...(all says - HEY),

I do have a question for those that are DVC members. I’ve always dreamed of staying at the Grand Floridian, however, the Boardwalk hotel is a place we’ve visited that Nan loves – OK...I like it too. I’m ‘kicking around’ surprising her with a stay there. As I’ve seen on the DIS boards...some sell/rent their points to others. Does anyone have a ‘guess-ta-mint’ on cost for a Thursday/Friday nights stay in a standard room during this time of year? I’d really appreciate some insight and suggestions on this.

Well...it’s late...and I’ve got an early morning tomorrow.

Hope all are doing well...enjoying summer..........kevin

Didn't see a response to your question so looked it up in my book. It would be 13 points for the Thur/Fri before the cruise at BWV in a boardwalk view studio. Most people rent the points for $10/point but have seen it as low as $6.
Hope this helps

Hey, Charles, you all deserve a big round of applause, as do all the folks, who have succeeded in getting their child/ren to college. Look forward to seeing you and Tammy on our cruise to the Saints!!!

Happy Weekend - Charles,

Thank you for taking the time to review and reply to my question - appreciate it/you. WOW!!! I would not have thought a BWV studio would only be ~$130 per night. From the 3 or 4 short visits we've made to BWV - both of us 'fell in love' with this resort.

If anyone is a DVC member - has some extra points and would like to help me 'surprise my bride'...please let me kow. Kevin

I'm the Disney Nut in my family, but this is the first time I have looked at the DIS boards. Sounds fun all of the activities, I just need to get my wife involved in reading the posts as she is the social butterfly. Can't wait to meet you all and enjoy a wonderful cruise, this is our second Disney cruise, but our 5th cruise overall. My 30th or so, been in the Navy for 23 years by the time we get on the boat, too many cruises to keep up with.

Charles

I just wanted to "pop" in and let you all know that my family and I may be joining you next year. I have a quote request into DU right now. We have two anniversaries to celebrate next year and our usual DVC trips don't seem special enough. Our last DCL vacation was 2006 so we're llooooonnnnnnggggg overdue! Keep your fingers crossed for us! :goodvibes

I wanted to take a look and see which cabins are still available and to do that I have always gone to Travelocity. Is there a better way??

I was looking at Category 8s and they use the phrase "Stateroom: 08, Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom GTY"...........what does that mean? Other categories come back with specific cabin numbers.

Thanks

Hello.

I didn't realize that you could check cabin availability outside of the DCL site. Anyway, the answer to your question is that that you will be place in at least a catergory 8 Stateroom guaranteed (GTY).

I hope that helps a little bit.

Okay, the deposit is paid so I guess we're official!!! It will be me, DH, DS will be 11 at the time of cruise and DD will be 12 at the time of the cruise. This will be our second DCL Eastern Caribbean and we're thrilled to be heading back.

Right now we've booked a GTY cat 6...the first time we've had a GTY so I'm a bit nervous. Usually we book as soon as the schedule opens up and grab 6556 but honestly we're just going in with the attitude that we're happy with any room with a verandah right now.

I would love my two kids to be able to get to know some of the others on this cruise that may be in the clubs with them. Has anyone done this before? I haven't for our previous cruises but wish I had, especially for my shy DD!

I look forward to reading through the entire thread over the weekend so I can start getting to know everyone. :surfweb: :) :boat::sunny:

Hi all,

Looks like we will be joining you on this one. I recognize a few names here (namely MOZART) which is great. We were originally booked on the 14-day TA Eastbound, but switched to this one because......

I'm pregnant.

Spending 14 days on a boat with a 4 month old while changing time zones repeatedly AND having no vacation time left just didn't seem like the best of plans.

So, here we are! When we sail it will be me (Erica), DH (Lionel) and DD to-be (Isabelle) who is due in December and will be 10 months old when we sail. Trying to convince my parents to join us as well - you know, built-in babysitters.

Look forward to meeting you all! I've been away from the boards for a few months but I will try to make regular appearances so I can keep up. We'll see how that goes :rolleyes1

Welcome, Janet and I was on the Sept 08 double dip with you. Congrats on the little one. Lois

WONDERFUL news...WELCOME Erica and Lionel. Looking forward in meeting and spending time 'in wait' till our sailing.

CONGRATULATIONS on the start of your family...our best. Please keep us up to date. Isabelle - beautiful name.

Erica...hope you can speak with Jason/Brenda (oybolshoi) to see if they'll join us. With you both there...DCL would need to 'step it up' in the dining room and pack some additional 'adult beverages' :rotfl:

ALL...please-please take time to read the trip reports on the cruise adventures of Eirca/Lionel...M, N, O __ your pants funny (you fill in the blank) - a direct link is located in zweihund's signature. Your TR are a few of 'the ones' that I print out...to share with my Bride and friends we've cruised with. Thank you for taking the time to write these.

Well...time to start getting DD's off to bed. All three start school tomorrow - Nancy (my bride) is :woohoo::yay::cool1::rotfl2: well...you get the idea.

Kevin

We will also be joining all of you on this cruise. The we being my DW Michelle and I (Phil). It will be the second half of our back to back as we are also booked on the Oct. 16 Western.

Kevin, you are too kind!

I will most definitely be having a conversation with Brenda. Though I'm not sure the boat can handle both of us (and our identical husbands) at the same time.....:rolleyes1

Looking forward to meeting everyone. I hope the year will sail right by!

Congrats on the new baby!! Our son Asher will be 17 months on the cruise, so maybe he & your little Isabelle will be in Flounder's reef together!

Okay, finally caught up on all the posts since the last time I was on - Asher was born on 5/15/09 (the day before his due date) and is now 13 weeks old! I'm so excited to see that there will be lots of kiddos onboard (Lily will be 6 by the time we cruise & Asher will be 17 mos) as well as lots of fun folks in general. AND I'm really looking forward to dressing up for the Pirates Night this time.

I noticed Disney is going to start offering the ability to add on hotels, etc. this fall to us 2010 cruisers - can't wait for that to pop up! We're planning to fly in the night before & stay at the Hyatt, and then add 2 nights on to the end of our trip at WDW (yes, we may have to miss a day of school so we can fly home on Monday...I'm really struggling with that one).

Hello, to all of the newcomers!!! Welcome aboard. I have finally caught up with this thread. I have just come back from a land/sea vaca at WDW. We had a great time.

Anyway, to all the newbies, I will add you to our main post.

Erica, congratulations on the baby-to-be. I am hoping to be pregnant by the end of the year, or else we won't be making babies at all.

I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Again, welcome aboard!!!

Thanks for the welcome, Brenda! Best of luck with the pregnancy. Hang in there - it took us almost two years to achieve it! :goodvibes
