Hi, Kim. Welcome aboard. I love the category 6 cabins. This will be our first 7-day cruise as well, so I am really looking forward to it, as well.

I will add you all to the main cruise post on page 1.

Yeah, we upgraded to a cat 6 at the port and loved it. My only fear is that if I book a 6 gty they will upgrade me to another room with a solid wall verandah.

That is the only reason we paid the extra $200 for a cat 5.

Happy Memorial Day to all. Thanks to all who have served and prayers for a safe return to all that are currently serving, as well as, those families that are 'in-wait' for their loved ones.

Hope all are enjoying this long weekend...I know I am enjoying a day away from work.

Looks like we've had some additions to our group - WELCOME!!!

Hi, Kim. I think that the solid wall verandahs are category 7, which would be a downgrade. So, you should not worry about that.

Happy Memorial Day to you too, Kevin, and to everyone else, especially those who have served our country. Many thanks.

Nope they have solid half walls in each of the cat including 4. In the cat 6 they only sleep 3 but I know in the Cat 4 they sleep 4 because we almost upgraded to one at the port.

I wish I knew if any other ones in the cat 5 slept 4.

Wow, I would not like to have a solid wall when I was expecting a clear one. I wish you luck with that. I will see what I can find out about the cat 5s.

Hello, my name is Rus, my wife Michelle and I are from the Monteray Bay area of California. Please add us to the group. We just got off the New Years Eve Cruise on the Magic and re-booked on this cruise before we left the ship. We would like to take part if the fish extenders if you are going to do that. And we will be celebrating my birthday on 10/27 of the cruise.

Hey there. Just had to give a shout out to you since we love Monterray Bay. My son loves the aquarium there. We've been there a few times when i visit my family in peninsula.

Hello everyone. I know its a bit early to start planning but I wanted to see if some of you may have any ideas on what excursions might be good for us traveling with DS(4). We have never been to St. Maarten and St. Thomas, so am not sure what to expect.

BTW, I'm so glad I have this forum to share my obsession for Disney and the cruise. All my friends think I'm crazy. Good to know I'm not alone :rotfl::rotfl:

Appears we have some new persons joining us...WELCOME!!

IMHO - it's never too early to start planning. That's how I take my virtual Disney vacations.
St. Maarten/Marten (my girls called it 'Saint Marty') - I'd recommend an excursion to include the Butterfly Farm. I, personally...thought it was over-priced...quite a distance for such a small place - quick tour. But...my DD's loved it (3.5, 6.5 & 9.5 y/o when we went).
St. Thomas - you've always got the sky ride (tram - a short walk past the shopping area). Now...we've never taken this...prob won't. For about the same $$$ (or a little more) you can hire a driver and see more of this island.

We are not --- follow the crowd type of people. So...take this for what it's worth. I like hiring a driver to take us for a tour of the islands. These people live there...know what 'we' like seeing...can make great suggestions.

Living in Az...we are land locked. So...any time we can get on a beach...WE ARE THERE. Orient Beach on St. Maarten is breathtaking (Nan calls it...'The fluffy sand beach'). We love Magens Bay in St Thomas. As well as, I'm planning on some leasure time at Mountian Top (maybe a second banana flavored - adult beverage). Here's a photo I took from Mountain Top...on our last trip

You're in great company (again...IMHO). I get soooo much 'stuff' from friends and co-workers about my love for all things Disney. I keep telling them...I could have a worse 'mid-life' crisis. Today...my co-workers played a prank on me...they took/hid my Mickey Mouse (and friends) McDonalds happy meal toys. I gotta stick with a better class of friends...like you guys.

Well...it's late...time to turn in. I'm taking the next 4 days off of work (except my part time job on Sunday) to spend time with my youngest DD. I'm really looking forward in our time together. My bride and oldest two DD's left this morning for Iowa. The team they are active with is participating at Odyssey of the Mind - world finals - at Iowa State University. They earned the right to participate by winning 2nd place in regional and state finals. I'm very excited for them and hopeful that they will place well in the judging - knowing...teams from around the world will be competing. Have to say...I'm very proud of their hard work and dedication. And...my oldest is starting to discuss college (someone get another band-aid for my wallet)...it'll be great to hear of her experience...staying in a dorm...eating at the cafeteria...exploring the grounds – etc. Well...maybe not the school cafeteria part...as she’s a strict vegetarian...and prob suffering a little.

Mountain Top's status is questionable right now. It recently burned to the ground. There is no word as to whether the owner's will rebuild or not.

Yes...I had read about the fire - very sad. As popular as this area was (insert - this place made bank)...am sure someone will rebuild to attract 'us' tourists. The two times we went...numerous people were shopping - enjoying 'adult beverages' and gasping over the beauty of the view. IMHO...they'll return to temporary type buildings while constructing something as large...or larger. It's my hopes...they'll be finished...or close Oct of 2010.

Thank you for the warm welcome. Congratulations on having such an accomplished family. I can see how you would be proud. Its a big deal to win at that level in regional and state finals. Would love to hear her first impressions of college experience and where she ends up deciding to go. My nephew just started college this spring and yes, it put a hurt on the bank account for sure. I couldn't believe it when it was time for him to go to college. Wow...time flies.

Thought I'd come in and give us a little bump. Good morning all.

Good morning. How are things and planning for your August cruise? Are you going on a 7 day or on 3/4 day? Because we had so much fun on our first cruise, I've been trying to book another 4 day cruise and tacking on a day at the park and a day at the beach before. I'm hoping to pull it off.

Would love to hear about your trip planning for August and your post trip thoughts. Have a good day!

Hi, Linda. We are doing a land/sea package, 4-day land, 3-day sea. We are pretty much done with the planning just need to book transportation to/from LAX. We have Palo reservations, excursions and spa treatments already scheduled. We also have made ADR for the parks. Thus far we are planning to have dinner at Coral Reef, Boma, Crystal Palace, and Cape May Cafe. We will probably do a character breakfast at Cape May as well.

The resort that we are staying at is the Port Orleans Riverside. I am trying to try a new resort with every visit, with the hopes of eventually staying at the Grand Floridian. This will be my third stay at WDW. I have previously stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort (niece's 10th b-day present 2004) and the Beach Club Resort (honeymoon 2007). I did land/sea package for both of those. My DH and I last year went on a 4-day cruise for our 1 year anniversary. He doesn't care too much for WDW; he prefers Disneyland. So, that is where we went a couple of months ago.

I hope that you will be able to book your cruise. When are you planning on going? I think there is still room on our cruise :goodvibes.

Sounds like a really fun itinerary! I read that Port Orleans Riverside is really nice. I myself would love to either stay at Floridian like you or the Polynesian. But the last couple of times we went, we ended up staying off property.

We just put out deposit down on a Sept 20th today for a 4 night cruise this afternoon. The current plan is to go a few days early, stay off property again for a couple of nights and try to make MNSSHP. We went last year and had a great time. Thought we would do it again this year. I have all this in my head, so now I have to start working on getting this into a real itinerary.

DisneyLand. We haven't been there in a years. We've got to make it there. My family is in northern CA and have some very close family friends in LA. Sounds like time for a visit next spring to get me through the wait for our Serenity Cruise.

Hey, y'all, why does it seem like the time is just crawling by???? This is taking F-O-R-E-V-E-R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:lmao:

It has been a long time since I posted anything. Work has been so busy for which I am grateful. My husband Alan and my son Richard are still counting down the days till the our 2010 cruise begins and I am looking forward to speaking with all of you and hopefully meeting you on the ship. DCL is the best!!!

A question was asked of me months back but I never did get a chance to check the boards. For that, I am sorry. The answer to where we live in California is in the city of Newman but I work about 86 miles away from there. My husband and I have long commutes (we work in Fremont, CA) but our reward to ourselves and our son is going to Disneyland and taking a Disney Cruise when we can !
My DW Michelle and I live in Hollister, we are not far from you guys.

This will indeed be a party ship this sailing, with all of the b-day and anniversarys celebrations going on, not to mention a lot of folks who are sailing for the first time.

Brenda from Gilroy, what would you like to be known as on this thread only as there are 3 of us? I'm Sunshine Brenda and there is a Colorado Brenda.
I think "Gilroy Brenda" should be "Strawberry Brenda":thumbsup2
